Thought I'd make a new thread before the old one filled up completely.

Into the second trimester and beyond 😊

Tentatively joining this thread, my 12 week scan is next week.
I’m currently estimated to be due 21st June.

Thank you for setting up the new thread 😊

DemelzaRobins · 04/12/2023 19:05

Also place marking. Am now 14 weeks and wondering how much longer I can hold off until I need to buy jeans in the next size up!

I have my first obstetrician appointment this week and have my second midwife appointment in a couple of weeks.

Boredinthehouse12 · 04/12/2023 19:30

Following on from old thread

Ad12345678 · 04/12/2023 20:35

Hi all. I had a call with a midwife today (I'm in Ireland so things may be a little bit different) and my first scan is in 2 weeks. Was surprised to be classed as high-risk (I'm 28) due to a microadenoma (a benign tumor in the head) so no nice midwife-led units with pools and music for delivery for me I guess. When I mentioned to my endocrinologist that we want start trying she was like 'yeah no problem just stop taking meds as soon as you know and you'll be fine'. And now the maternity hospital says high-risk. Hm... Anybody else with hyperprolactinemia here?

bravinglife · 04/12/2023 20:51

Joining with EDD 20/6 - dating scan is next week so trying to stay hopeful that all is well. Anyone else feel that pregnancy loss robs you of joy in the first trimester? My heart is guarded.

bravinglife · 04/12/2023 20:57

@Ad12345678 Your body, your birth- the consultant can explain to you why they’d prefer you to be on the labour ward/ continually monitored etc. but ultimately it’s your choice and you can still create a lovely, relaxed birth environment with fairy lights/ battery candles, your own music, room spray and so on no matter where you decide is best for you 😊

Chaiandtoast · 04/12/2023 20:59

@bravinglife absolutely. But I keep telling myself that I can’t control any thing and there will always be something new to worry about, so I’m just trying to take some joy where I can. I also read on another post someone said at this point you’re more likely to have a baby at the end of this than not, and that has helped me to keep remembering.

bravinglife · 04/12/2023 21:35

@Chaiandtoast that’s very true and a positive way to think about it, thanks. The all-day nausea is a good reminder that something is going on in there too 😅

oop · 04/12/2023 22:05

@bravinglife definitely! I didn't really let myself truly believe it was happening until my dating scan last week.

This is my second and I look as pregnant as I did at 6 months last time. It's solid as well so not just bloat. Crazy how little my stomach muscles resisted 🙈

KMM87 · 04/12/2023 22:15

I have my dating scan/first consultant appointment next week. It's felt like such a long wait but I have a feeling it's going to start flying by 🫣

VJ88 · 04/12/2023 22:16

@bravinglife Absolutely. I've sadly had three losses and I just find it so hard to trust that my body can do this. BUT, no matter what the outcome of this pregnancy, I know I would be sad to look back and think I never allowed myself to hope or be excited, so I do try to allow myself those feelings when they do come. I hope your scan goes well and gives you some reassurance x

Catson · 04/12/2023 22:24

@oop I have diastis recti from my first, so I have had quite a bump for a while now and I'm only 10 weeks. Was in maternity jeans at 8 weeks... Was over 20 weeks last time 🙈🙈🙈 you have my sympathies!!

FantasticMissFox · 05/12/2023 05:07

Thanks for the new thread. I just noticed a teeny tiny bit of a bump this morning. Been very much bloat until now!

PurpleIsTheColour · 05/12/2023 07:07

Very big bump here too and I’m 14 weeks tomorrow, so no idea how huge I’ll be at the end of the pregnancy. I swear that with my first one my bump was this size at 5-6 months pregnant so my poor muscles are not holding it very tight this time round😂

LavenderJoy · 05/12/2023 07:17

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and eveything is looking good, I'm so relieved! My hematoma has cleared up and the bleeds have stopped so I can finally relax and start to enjoy the 2nd trimester, due date had been bought forward to the 13th, even though it makes no sense as it was a frozen ivf transfer lol

Good luck to everyone with their upcoming scans!

Mountainview8 · 05/12/2023 07:58

Thanks for the new thread. I'm 14 weeks and have felt I've had a bump for a while and hoping it is bump not bloat now as its getting bigger! It's my first pregnancy to get this far, so I'm not really sure how big to expect to be at each stage.

LilyCat43 · 05/12/2023 08:07

Following to join the post... EDD 29/6 💜

Sophleanne1 · 05/12/2023 09:02

Joining the new thread too 😊

Currently 13+5 & still doesn't feel real 🌈❤️

Catson · 05/12/2023 10:40

@Mountainview8 there is no normal, your bump will be the perfect bump for you 😊

I'm at the stage where I feel like I'll end up having a MMC or something, definitely scanxiety... and I still have 2 weeks to wait. I just don't think this pregnancy feels real at all for some reason. Please tell me that's it's not just me 🙈
