to those of you who plan to breast feed, just a tip regarding comfort. Don’t buy the cheap bread pads like boots own brand, they chafed and made me so sore that I have immediately reverted to the Lansinoh ones I bought last time. They’re pricey but oh so much softer and comfortable.

Likewise, Lansinoh nipple cream is pricey but works so well.

Night nursing bra wise I bought these https://babygo.uk/products/sleep-bra
and have been really impressed. So comfortable and good quality too. Not really much more expensive per bra than anywhere else either since they were on sale so worked out at £10 per bra.

I have bought this breast pump https://babygo.uk/products/sleep-bra
but not yet used it as it took 6 days to get out of the NICU and hospital to finally get home yesterday, but I’ll let everyone know if it’s as good as the Amazon reviews suggest.

if anyone else has any other recommendations for breast feeding paraphernalia then please do add them.

I've been up since 12 - thinking it's labour. Painful contraction feeling, tummy physically tightening. Pain in hips & lower back

They were coming pretty regularly but when I get up they stop. Then start again when I lay down.

Can't sleep and constantly need to pee 😩😩

Anyone else having this???

OrionNebula · 05/10/2023 05:34

Congrats @LWestYorks and good luck @BambiBooBoo

PrimarilyParented · 05/10/2023 05:48

@BambiBooBoo my early contractions did stop/start a bit and were worse in certain positions. Try having a bath to relax if you can.

Koalawhala · 05/10/2023 06:47

Thanks @NSx.

congrats @LWestYorks! I hope you’re doing well.

@PrimarilyParented glad breastfeeding is going well and thanks for your c section tips the other day. Enjoy being at home!

doeandfawn · 05/10/2023 07:30

@PrimarilyParented I bought some of their crop top style nursing bras yesterday! Planning to live in maxi skirts and those for a few weeks.

katherine123x · 05/10/2023 08:08

@PrimarilyParented agree with the pads!!

Our little man has tongue tie causing real pain in the boob!!

I have started to pump into bottles and try and feed from breast when I can.

Had a massive mum guilt moment about it and felt like I'd failed 5 days in. Cried for hours last night!

Just wanted to share for a real update (not sympathy)

kingfisher168 · 05/10/2023 08:21

@BambiBooBoo I've been having this for a few nights/mornings now, and never know if it's pressure on bladder/bowel or the real thing. I always go to the loo before even thinking this might be it 😄 Frustrating but works 😕

PrimarilyParented · 05/10/2023 08:37

@katherine123x i know you weren’t after sympathy, but you have mine. My first son had a tongue tie and made welts on me, it is so painful.

are the hospital going to cut his tongue tie? I used nipple shields until my son’s was done and they helped loads so that I didn’t need to express. If I recall after trying lots of brands the MAM ones were best as they didn’t fall off during feeds and came in different sizes so i could get ones that didn’t hurt my nipples.

hope you get your little man’s tongue tie resolved quickly. If the NHS are being useless you can go privately.

ttcttc · 05/10/2023 08:43

@NSx thank you 😘

@PrimarilyParented thanks. You've linked the bras twice in place of the pump. Which pump did you get ? Z

ttcttc · 05/10/2023 08:45

@LWestYorks lovely news. Hope you're both doing well 😘
