Hi! Just had a BFP after a MC at 8 weeks last year, and am looking for folks to breathe through the next few weeks with. I am in an age bracket where MC risk is high and I’m trying not to get ahead of myself!

Hi OP 👋. I've literally found out today. I was 36 on Friday so I'm in the older /higher risk bracket too.

Jak803 · 23/09/2023 21:06

@Stephy1024 congratulations, and wishing you a healthy pregnancy!

Thank you hun, you too. How have you been feeling? I still haven't got my head around it.

laurenshaylen91 · 24/09/2023 03:18

I found out yesterday also. I’m 31 and I have a 12 year old and nearly 10 year old already so trying to get my head around this little surprise!!

Jak803 · 24/09/2023 09:33

@laurenshaylen91 oh wow, that’s amazing! Congratulations. That’s a nice age gap I think!

i’m having constant cramping on my right side, which is worrying me slightly but I’m now (I think) 12DPO, and the line is progressing on the Wondfo tests. I’ll be amazed if this manifests into a healthy bean at my age but we’ll see.

Just found out today too.
37 with 2 school aged children so feeling a bit wobbly about starting all over again!

laurenshaylen91 · 24/09/2023 20:58

@Jak803 Thanks 😊 Congratulations to you also! I’m around 13DPO and had a slight bit of spotting first thing this morning but has been fine since so trying to just not think about it too much right now. It’s very early days but I’m hopeful 🤞

Jak803 · 24/09/2023 22:31

Keeping everything crossed for you @laurenshaylen91 and congrats @Senso21on your BFP!

Hi! I got my BFP on Thursday and my Flo app says that I should be 4+2 today with a due date of 2nd June!

I’m 34 with one DD ❤️

Jak803 · 25/09/2023 07:33

Congrats @cosymama2020! We’re nearly bang on the same. 🙂

Hope you’re feeling good!

cosymama2020 · 25/09/2023 07:54

Ah amazing @Jak803 ❤️

I’m quite nauseous already and the husband is joking that it’s because it’s twins 😳😂 yesterday I was sooo tired I had to nap a few times! I had quite a carb heavy day though (big roast dinner) so going to get back on healthier eating today and see if that helps at all.

I’m finding that it’s going soooo slow though! Can see myself booking in an early scan at this rate!

Jak803 · 25/09/2023 11:05

@cosymama2020 that’s a good sign! The wait is painful isn’t it. For many reasons I’m not going to think about scans until ten weeks (if I get that far!), when I can have blood tests too. I’m older so very high risk, but if all looks good at ten weeks that will be a good sign.

I had a scan with my DD at 8 weeks when I was younger and it was brilliant, gave me huge peace of mind. She was dancing around in there, not staying still. She’s exactly the same now! 😂

Can I join? Im 32 and this will hopefully be #3. DCs are 5 and 16 months. I have a history of recurrent miscarriage so I am trying to get in touch with the midwife unit to see if I can get on the meds I was on previously

Congratulations to you all ladies!

Snap @cosymama2020 on the EDD of 2nd June 😁

Stephy1024 · 25/09/2023 12:14

Congratulations to all who have joined. For some reason I've only just though to look at a due date lol. It will be the 7th June so far.
I'm in 2 minds if I should book a private scan. So I had a mmc in April. Found out at my private scan that I'd booked for 10 weeks just for some reassurance. Part of me would like to do it again but then Part of me is worried it will be the same outcome. Obviously if this pregnancy progresses I'll have to have scans anyways. I just dont know do I wait for a 12 week scan or go early again?

Jak803 · 25/09/2023 12:40

@HappyValleyFan1 congrats! Out of interest, what are the drugs? I am at high risk of MC, so I’d be interested to know!

@Stephy1024 I totally understand your hesitancy. I had an 8 week scan with my MC, and they dated it at 6 weeks. This gap in development may have been an indicator that all was not well, who knows. But I sadly miscarried two weeks later. Seeing the heartbeat added to the pain of loss, and I don’t think I can personally go through that again. I am going to try and take my mind off it as a reality, until I am at around ten weeks, but I am also very very tempted to check sooner to rule out blighted ovum etc… it’s all just very anxiety inducing whichever route you take! And we can’t even have a glass of wine to cope! 😄

HappyValleyFan1 · 25/09/2023 12:48

@Jak803 the recurrent miscarriage clinic consultant prescribed me progesterone, 5mg folic acid and a higher dose aspirin (cannot remember dosage) I think my 'count' will be back to zero under NHS rules having had a baby since but I thought it was worth asking seeing as that is what made my little boy stick. What's your risk factors for MC? I did have some preliminary investigations after our 3 losses but nothing concrete came out of it. Early scans I think are both anxiety alleviating and inducing, it's hard to find a balance. DH doesn't want to do any early scans this time (last time they were all NHS scans every 2 weeks)

Jak803 · 25/09/2023 13:38

@HappyValleyFan1 sounds like you’re getting good thorough care from the NHS. I’m sorry you’ve suffered so many losses.

in my case it’s just age, I’m at a 45% risk of MC, and a blood test came back with low ovarian reserve and low oestrogen. You’ve inspired me to talk to my GP about this to see if they can advise further. In my case it might just be a case of hoping it’s a good quality egg. 😬

I’m 4 weeks tomorrow I really hope this results in a baby on or around 5th June 2024. Tomorrow is my 30th birthday and last week should have been my due date for my second little boy who I lost in May at 21 weeks. I have one living son who is 17m. I got a positive at 9dpo on easy at homes does this line look like it’s progressing?

Due June 24?
Jak803 · 26/09/2023 22:17

Congrats @justwantobeamum ! That line looks like it’s progressing to me.

I’m so sorry for your loss, that must have been a hard milestone to reach last week. I hope that this pregnancy goes off without a hitch for you.

I had my last two just before I turned 39. I was the most healthy I had ever been. Congratulations! Try not to stress.

cosymama2020 · 27/09/2023 07:52

Anyone else feel like time is going really slowly? Only 4+4 today, got ages until a scan 😂

RaisingCornishWildlings · 27/09/2023 08:16

I've just peed on a stick and got a faint line! I think I'm back in the club- will be fourth child- others are almost 7, 4.5 and 18m (boy boy girl) and I'm 40 now!
Hubby and I thought we were done at 3 but had a change of heart at the start of the year, decided to have one last shot and eeeekk!! Back on the merry go round I go!
Other 3, I didn't know I was Pg until 6ish weeks, so finding out so early this time is weird!
Looking at when we had sex (irregular period doesn't help!), I'm guessing due date around 11 June!

Anyone else with big families to share advice??

RaisingCornishWildlings · 27/09/2023 08:31

Here's the line! Faint but deffo there!

Due June 24?
cosymama2020 · 27/09/2023 10:04

@RaisingCornishWildlings congratulations! This is our 2nd DC so I can’t offer any advice sorry!

Tedted this morning and it’s finally bumped up from ‘1-2 weeks’ to ‘2-3 weeks’ 😅 sooo relieved! Will stop testing now haha

Due June 24?
PurpleIsTheColour · 27/09/2023 12:50

Can I join you ladies 😊
I am exactly 4 weeks today and this will be my second baby. My DD turned 2 in August and it took us 11 months to get pregnant with her but this time we got a BFP on round two so keeping all fingers crossed this bean sticks!

I had nausea on 8dpo when I woke up and I first thought that it must be a cold, but the nausea continued on 9dpo so I tested and got my first faint positive! I’m obsessing a bit at the moment doing daily morning test to make sure the line progression is okay but I think I’ll stop testing very soon and just hope for the best. I also have a lot of cramping and bad back which is unlike my previous pregnancy when I had no symptoms until 5 weeks. Anyway, I am happy to accept all symptoms and fingers crossed we all get our little ones in 9 months time!

My EDD is 6th June🤗🤗🤗
