Thank you @firsttimelondonmummy 💛

Zaalfruit · 31/03/2023 13:46

@firsttimelondonmummy thank you !!

BobbySD345 · 31/03/2023 13:52

Thank you @firsttimelondonmummy 😊 My friend commented I shouldn't be lifting shopping bags etc now at 28/29 weeks after doing the weekly shop at Aldi (which is literally the most exhausting task now right !?) But what is everyone else doing? I'm still having to lift my 3 year old.

Babybaby66 · 31/03/2023 14:42

thanks @firsttimelondonmummy - I feel like we are definitely getting on the home stretch now!

ive got a growth scan on Tuesday as I went in for reduced movements last week and they said I was measuring really big, even though midwife then measured me at my appointment 2 days later and I was measuring bang on. Oh well, not going to turn down a change to check on the baby!

@BobbySD345 im trying not to carry heavy things if there is someone else there to do it for me but if not I’m just sort of getting on with it…..

HasHus86 · 31/03/2023 15:07

@firsttimelondonmummy Thank you! ♥️

HasHus86 · 31/03/2023 15:10

@BobbySD345 I’ve been struggling with pelvic girdle pain since around 22 weeks and lifting anything heavy seems to make it worse so I’ve been avoiding it.

PurBal · 31/03/2023 16:23

Thank you @firsttimelondonmummy
@BobbySD345 I’d love to try telling my toddler I won’t pick him up 😂, and sometimes need must because he’s done a poo and doesn’t want his nappy changed…

Hlc86 · 31/03/2023 16:55

Thank you @firsttimelondonmummy. I've been heavy lifting all the way through, it's part of my job and unfortunately unavoidable, I know what my body can handle is that makes sense.. Plus I'm bloody stubborn if someone says don't lift that it makes me want to lift it more 😂, probably why I keep fainting and have pre eclampsia 😂

C1umsyGiraffe · 31/03/2023 19:14

I've actually just started going back to the gym (with a prenatal PT). I used to train before getting pregnant and been doing yoga and aquafit through out, I'm also incredibly lucky and feeling so good in this pregnancy! So just trying to listen to my body and do what I can - I know how lucky I am and appreciate it so much!

C1umsyGiraffe · 31/03/2023 19:15

I think it's more of a car if not lifting more than you were before?

firsttimelondonmummy · 31/03/2023 20:25

Whoops posted this on the wrong thread haha…

No worries all!

Also I’m not sure if you are all trying to be a little more eco friendly but if you are Kit & Kin seems from research like a great choice for nappies/ wipes and bags.

They do a pregnancy bundle so you can order now but your subscription doesn’t kick in till your due date (great if your a planner like me 😂).

They also have £10 off if you use the code HELLO10 or you can use my code and we both get £10 REF104CTXZHNJ 🥰
This is not an ad though fyi I just think they look like a great eco friendly brand.

@C1umsyGiraffe my partner is a qualified PT who has experience in prenatal and I still refuse 😂
I just don’t feel safe in the gym pregnant.
I know I’ll be back 4 times a week as soon as he’s out but for now the hour dog walk a day and trips to the office in London twice a week are doing the job!
Also I’m on the smaller side of normal bump measurement wise now and so I’d be a bit worried about more weight coming off 😬

OP posts:
AstroH · 31/03/2023 22:20

I’m still lifting weights a couple of times a week for exercise but can’t lift as much as I did pre pregnancy. I feel like I saw somewhere that the guidance around lifting heavy things has changed recently (they say it’s fine now unless you’re explicitly told otherwise) so listen to your mind/body and lift guilt free if you want but also get someone else do it if you can and you want to!

Mistymeow · 01/04/2023 09:38

Thank you for tagging me, I’ve been lurking but have only posted once! Huge congrats to @bellathedarkoverlord but sorry it’s been so traumatic. Baby is a good weight and I hope she continues to improve.

I’m likely to have a c section 38/39 weeks as I have a J cut in my uterus (previous difficult c section) but could be earlier if baby remains transverse. I’m also having growth scans because my first had IUGR but so far baby boy is looking quite big! I’ve had 2 GTTs and passed both (previously had GD) which has been a relief, so am currently enjoying all the bread! @Babybaby66 the fundal height isn’t very accurate, I had one midwife who was measuring me so small that one week baby had shrunk. The growth scans are better and much more reassuring so I hope it goes well.

I can’t believe how expensive baby clothes are now. I’ve bought everything second hand off Vinted in bundles, great quality, better for the environment and so cheap. Really recommend.

C1umsyGiraffe · 01/04/2023 12:35

@firsttimelondonmummy aw! Must be handy when you're not pregnant though! I think that's it, just do what you feel comfortable with :) aw cute! What kind of dog do you have? We have a 4 year old cockapoo who is and always will be our first baby 😂 quite nervous about how he's going to handle the change!

firsttimelondonmummy · 01/04/2023 13:07

@C1umsyGiraffe aww lovely!
He’s a one and a half year old Dalmatian.
He is lovely but very bouncy 😂 I think we will get a behaviourist in for a couple of sessions just for the first couple of introductions.

We've been adding a few touches to our nursery today.
Our cat has been helping! We put a cat proof net over the cot, but he prefers to go under anyway!

@firsttimelondonmummy yea absolutely gorgeous! Ours has only just started calming down 😂 we had an appointment with a behaviourist a couple weeks ago and have got another one in a couple week, he still sleeps in our bed and needed some advice on how to comfortable stop that without upsetting him - or my husband 😅

firsttimelondonmummy · 01/04/2023 17:54

@C1umsyGiraffe thankfully Otis is crate and pen trained.
There is no way he could fit in or on our bed as he’s massive 😂 and sheds an unbelievable amount lol (see below my couch cover today) 😭

@firsttimelondonmummy that's really good! Also, love the name Otis! It suits him! Oh wow that is, that must be a nightmare! Luckily ours doesn't shed which is a godsend, having grown up with three dogs I know what it's like 😂

firsttimelondonmummy · 02/04/2023 18:18

Does anyone else feel like they are getting smaller rather than bigger?
The midwives argued over whether I was a little too small for 28 weeks and now I’m closing in on 29 I’m feeling a bit worried about it as I feel if anything I’m shrinking 😬

OP posts:
Hlc86 · 02/04/2023 18:38

I keep getting this too, I'm slightly smaller than you and 29 weeks and the midwives keep saying " oh she can't be eating" it's getting quite annoying actually as everyone carries differently and depends on your natural frame I think. But yeah like you I feel I'm getting smaller, except in an evening when I seem to pop then by morning she's gone again 😂

DrinkingAllTheGin · 02/04/2023 18:38

My bump changes shape each day. Perhaps your bubs is just sitting very far back?

Today I have felt sooooo tired and uncomfortable. I had a bath this afternoon then after nearly falling asleep in the bath, I took a long nap in bed.
Might actually manage to stay up till after 9pm!
