@PurBal I was recently sent for a growth scan after measuring a cm behind and the baby measured completely normal in the scan and blood flow was good. Outer womb measurements are a basic practice and just used as a rough check, don’t worry.

@C1umsyGiraffe I was given a secondhand basic ikea cot for my first and it was perfectly fine. I’m splashing out on this one though and getting a Leander cot, going to the showroom to see it tomorrow and feeling v excited!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 03/04/2023 17:48

I have just counted up and I have 19 days left at work.

I am super tired this week (30 weeks today) and paranoid that baby will turn up any day as I have so many friends and family have baby's at 30 weeks. I must get my bag packed!

BobbySD345 · 03/04/2023 17:50

I measured 30cm today at 28 + 3 weeks which is on the 90th centile. She said aslong as I then follow the 90th centile for the remainder then there isn't an issue. I heard they aren't measuring in every trust now as it can be so inaccurate !.

Hlc86 · 03/04/2023 17:52

Should i be worried I haven't been measured yet? I've got a midwife app on weds do you think she will do it then? I was told I would have extra growth scans as my daughter was small, but haven't been offered anything? All I get from the midwives is how small I am and how I must not be eating 🙄 yet haven't been measured

PurBal · 03/04/2023 17:57

@Hlc86 I had my first measurement taken at 28 weeks if that helps?

Hlc86 · 03/04/2023 17:58

@DrinkingAllTheGin aww 19 days will fly by then you can put your feet up, I've got another 54 days at work (depending if I have a c section or not then will be less)

PurBal · 03/04/2023 18:01

@DrinkingAllTheGin were due date twins. I’m definitely getting the itch to pack my bag too. Probably going to wait until the first week of May because we’re going away and I need to get the baby clothes / car seat / moses basket down from the loft.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 03/04/2023 18:02

Those 19 days are spread over 6 weeks but yes, very much looking forward to it.
Started training my mat cover today, god training is draining!

firsttimelondonmummy · 03/04/2023 18:27

@Fredthespider exactly that.
My midwife looked at me like I had 5 heads when I said I had a private scan at 26 weeks and would be having another one at 33 weeks and 36/7 weeks and it’s for exactly that reason.
My bump is measuring small but at the scan where they accurately saw and measured him, he was bang average.
I’d much rather the reassurance from proper foetal measurements.

@DrinkingAllTheGin 19 days?!
I’ve got nearly 10 weeks to go 😭

DrinkingAllTheGin · 03/04/2023 18:38

I'm stopping work at 36 weeks but mat leave starts at 37 weeks. I am slso using holiday to take off every Wednesday until then and there are shed loads of bank holiday days before June!

I am an older mum to be so expecting to be induced at 39 weeks.

Belami · 03/04/2023 20:29

I've just worked out I've got 35 days to go as I've got a couple of weeks off in between and all the bank hols help!! I'm really excited but weirdly I'm feeling a bit daunted about being off for so long, such a weird feeling when you've worked full time since university 😅

BobbySD345 · 03/04/2023 21:27

I only work 3 days a week and I've got a full annual leave entitlement to take before I go so I'm finishing on 26th April and not due until 25th June 🙈 Not got long to go at all. My boy was born at 37 weeks though and I had 5 days at home before he arrived so I'm having some more "me time" before this little madam makes an appearance. I haven't started packing my bag but I have been buying lots of bits and keeping them in a drawer. I've got to be more organised this time with it being 2nd baby as I need to also make sure DS has everything he needs for a few days at Grandma's possibly with nursery thrown into the mix !

Zaalfruit · 04/04/2023 04:38

My due date is the 1st of June and I’m working till the 26th of May 😂😂 If baby comes early I’m going to be leaving work in a lurch lol

Too all everyone with small bumps - my first pregnancy during covid I didn’t see a midwife till 30 weeks . I wasn’t noticeably pregnant just looked a little fuller on my stomach and I wore the same size 8/10 clothes no maternity stuff . Baby girl was born healthy and at 6lbs - I have no idea where she was hiding . (This time I’m quiet larger and I reckon this baby will be a 9lbs )

@BellaTheDarkOverlord love the baby updates and I’m glad you got to hold baby . Wishing you and baby a speedy recovery and the whole family can be together soon !

C1umsyGiraffe · 04/04/2023 07:06

@Zaalfruit I'm doing similar! Due date 22nd and going on maternity leave on the 16th, I've actually put mine in im to start on the 22nd but going to take a few days annual leave first! I'm only getting maternity allowance so trying to make it last as long as possible 😂

justbelieve · 04/04/2023 07:53

I’m starting mat leave on my EDD 22/06, but going on annual leave from 5/06. 36 days left for me!!

re bump measurements - midwife isn’t measuring me as I have growth scans as part of my midwife/consultant led care. Even the scans aren’t completely accurate though, baby was measuring on 10th centile 2 weeks ago, but she struggled to get accurate measurements as he was breech and facing posterior. I had a private 3d scan on Saturday and he was measuring bang on. I’ve got a midwife scan tomorrow at obstetrics as consultant is busy, so we’ll see what they say! For now I’m not too worried.

AngelBlue12 · 04/04/2023 08:01

@firsttimelondonmummy please can I be added to the list? Due date 18th June, girl 😊

Does anyone fancy moving over to a Facebook group? We had one for our March 2017 babies and it’s great and most of us are still there.

firsttimelondonmummy · 04/04/2023 08:45

Sorry guys I can’t add to the list now it’s posted but when we eventually get to a new thread remind me and I will add it onto the next thread 😊

@justbelieve ah you are similar to me.
I go on official mat leave on my EDD (22nd) but taking holidays from the 8th 😊

OP posts:
Funfamilytimes · 04/04/2023 11:03

I’m finishing on the 5th of May but taking 2 weeks unpaid and then starting my maternity leave 2 weeks early. That way I can add the holiday on to the end of the mat leave. This way I’ll have 13 months off with a tiny bit of holiday left over.
If I’ve worked it out correctly! 🥲 my boss is the most unhelpful person so just hoping I’ve read it all properly!!
Anyone else absolutely loving this sun? 🌞

justbelieve · 04/04/2023 11:16

Is anyone else struggling with heart burn/indigestion/acid reflux? How are you handling it?

The last couple of nights I’ve woken up almost choking, had to sleep sitting up last night and my back is in bits today 😭

Belami · 04/04/2023 11:26

@justbelieve meeee and Ive started snoring now too which I'm wondering if related 😅

I've just been using Gaviscon but my dr has just prescribed me some stronger medication for it xx

FLA92 · 04/04/2023 11:28

I’m wondering what the baby wears home from the hospital as I feel a bit clueless temperature-wise about what’s suitable? Are hospitals cold or warm and if it’s hot weather outside then should I be putting her in a short sleeved vest straight away with a blanket (I really have no idea what I’m meant to be doing 😂).

Also I’m only going to buy one or two packs of actual newborn sized vests etc, I have the 1 month size from Next in basically everything so hoping that will be fine?

Have you tried maybe eating a little earlier, not as close to bed time? Not sure if that might help or not!

justbelieve · 04/04/2023 11:33

@Belami are you using the chewable tablets or the drink? I’ve been using the tablets which were working but aren’t hitting it now.

@FLA92 I have tried this, some nights it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Going to start monitoring what I’m eating on the nights it doesn’t! 🙈
