I'm almost in the same boat as you OP! I'll be 38 weeks on Thursday. Feeling so anxious and excited. Literally looking out for every little niggle, ache and pain at the moment!!

AliredS22 · 24/01/2023 08:49

Hey! I was also 38 weeks yesterday and looking out for every sign that labour might be starting! It's so hard to remain relaxed isn't it! I've also been cleaning like crazy and up all night xx

CastleTower · 24/01/2023 08:50

39+4 here. It's incredibly annoying!

Was over 42 weeks with my first, so I really should calm down about it...

FebMama · 24/01/2023 09:56

Anybody getting any little niggles/signs that their little ones are on the way?

Every time I feel a little something I'm like "is this it?!" And it's not 😂

I'm still waiting on an ELCS date too so that's causing more anxiety as I would have thought I'd have a date by now 😩

Smilesarecontagious · 24/01/2023 10:04

I think I'll get more sleep when he's here 🤔

I'm 38 weeks on Friday and very impatient!

My plug has been coming in bits for a week now so not sure that's actually a sign of anything 😩

Is anyone else getting quite sharp pains in their cervix? Mostly at night I get waves of pain there along with the braxton hicks, little ones heads engaged so assuming it's just pressure but the past couple days have been awful 😖

Oh no yeah me too !! all kicks off during the night!!! Lots if pains head is right down can feel him punching inside my pelvis ( such a strange sensation)
I think your plug coming away gas got to be a good sign hopefully not long to wait x

@NewandNrvous Yes to this! Always at night when BH feel especially strong but then nothing by the morning. Have you had many other signs?

Smilesarecontagious · 24/01/2023 10:33

Just horrible nights, lots of pains what I think are contractions even started timing last night every 7 mins quite painful then nothing what's that all about??
Other signs I just wanting to clean clean and clean hope it lasts after birth my house has never smelt so good

OP posts:
NewandNrvous · 24/01/2023 10:40

Oh yes! I don't think I'll ever get used to the feeling of hands against the inside of my hip bones 🤢 not my favourite sensation if im honest!

Every Twinge has my thinking (hoping) is this it? Especially as my partner is working away some days/nights at the moment im on high alert that I will need to call him back!

Apart from plug I'd just say the bh, cervix pain and last night back pain going across my hips and down thighs are my only signs but I fear they are all just symptoms of his head being so low and I could be in this loop of pain for another 4 weeks 😩

Smilesarecontagious · 24/01/2023 10:48

Glad it's not only me who finds the hands sensation a bit much !!!
You don't get told about that !!!
Feels like they are trying to claw out arrghh😬
Walking is a problem so keeping that to a minimum the pain is horrendous

Got a lot of pain in my back recently also

This is not glamorous is it 🤭

NewandNrvous · 24/01/2023 11:03

I feel like I spend my life either on the ball or laying over it 🤦‍♀️ im definitely not being as productive as everyone else seems to be 😬 all baby things are done and ready to go but I haven't had any desire to scrub my skirting boards yet 🤣

I've been signed off work for a while now so I'm just so ready to have my baby here now

Smilesarecontagious · 24/01/2023 12:13

I just dosed off for an hour really needed it not sure I feel any better though
I'm really not one for napping but these crazy nights are really getting the better of me
I've got a giant space hopper in the garage I think I'll pump that up 🤣
Had a visit from health visitor yesterday she told me to start squatting 🫢 I told her I will pass on that one !!!!
Me too just ready for baby to be here now
Although I'm hoping to hold on till feb for some reason January is always such a drag

NewandNrvous · 24/01/2023 12:31

Having a payday between Christmas and birthday would be helpful! But each night as the pains kick in I would sacrifice that in a heartbeat just to have it be the real thing!

I just want the pains to be productive if that makes sense, working towards having my baby is a good reason to be in pain but just putting up with them night after night is exhausting, I struggle to nap in the day but I have given in a couple times lately after such disruptive nights

The next person that tells me boys are lazy and I probably have weeks left is going to get their head chewed off 🤦‍♀️🤣

FebMama · 24/01/2023 12:38

Oh gosh I can definitely relate to a lot of these comments! The sharp shooting pains in my pelvis/cervix is really crippling me at the moment. Every time I get up, I feel like baby is just going to fall out.

Definitely not bouncing on a ball this time around though. As much as I am fed up of being pregnant, I need baby to stay put until my ELCS date - whenever that is!!!

I have a pre-op this Friday when I'm 38+1 so hopefully will get a date then 🤞🏽

Smilesarecontagious · 24/01/2023 12:54

I think February during the day and now at night !!!!
Yeah I know what you mean about the pains not being productive they just feel exhausting, I felt like I'd done 200 sit ups one morning with none of the benefits 😅
Are you having a boy also I've gad the lazy lad comment
Don't know about you but I find myself sliding out of bed as I too feel every thing is going to fall out😬

38 weeks Friday too and definitely sign watching every little pain or twinge can’t wait for it to be over I can’t hardly walk as I done my back in last week so struggling, good luck to every one not long now and are baby’s will be here ❤️

NewandNrvous · 24/01/2023 13:33

Oh absolutely, I find myself waddling to the bathroom in the middle of the night holding my bump up because it feels like he is halfway out of me already 🤦‍♀️ I feel like people tell you there is no dignity in labour but fail to mention the complete lack of it in the weeks beforehand too 🤣 my poor partner has heard about plugs more than he probably ever hoped!

He's away for work from this morning until tomorrow night and I'm feeling all kinds of hormonal! I havent really been overly hormonal for the majority of the pregnancy so feel all wobbly, I had a dream last night about going into labour while he was away so think I've just let it get to me

Smilesarecontagious · 24/01/2023 14:01

If you need to vent or just talk through the hormones just message we can be hormonal together x
I too have had a rush of hormones at this late stage lots of sudden tears no idea why 🙈
Yeah these last few weeks have definitely been the hardest just keep telling myself not long now, although I feel I've been pregnant forever and can't can't actually see an end !!!
I just keep waddling on 😀

NewandNrvous · 24/01/2023 14:19

I've curled up on the sofa and had a cry already this afternoon so I'm definitely there with you!

And afterwards it popped into my head that being extra hormonal can be a sign of things starting so to say I may be getting slightly obsessive may be an understatement! To think I could still be 4 weeks away!

Smilesarecontagious · 24/01/2023 14:29

Oh no sending you lots of hugs
I get the slightly obsessive I've cleaned the toilet for the fifth time today 😅
I hope the extra hormones could mean not long to go
I was just looking at the moses basket and wondering is it ever going to have a little man in there !!
Four weeks it's not not long in the grand scheme of things but in reality feels like a life time so I get you there hopefully all the night pain is working towards something and not just some form of self torture xxx
Have you started to think about any old wives tales like pineapple raspberry tea curry etc?

OP posts:
NewandNrvous · 24/01/2023 15:05

Oh same! We have a moses basket and the changing table set up in the lounge and I keep finding myself looking at them! Oh wow I wish I had that nesting! If it's baby related cleaning I have no motivation for it beyond normal housekeeping 🤦‍♀️

I will say the past week has gone quickly as it doesn't seem very long since we were counting down to 37 weeks and reaching term but saying 4 weeks just sounds like an awful lot of painful nights although I'm sure as soon as little ones are here we will find it laughable that we think we are sleeping badly now 🤣

Smilesarecontagious · 24/01/2023 15:17

Yeah I wonder what sleep will be like when he's here at least it shouldn't be painful 😁probably be crying through a different sort of sleep torture 😅
I'm sure it will all be a distant memory soon and all worth it just want to put time on fast forward for a couple of weeks

OP posts:
NewandNrvous · 24/01/2023 15:38

Is this your first too?

I wish I wasn't so prepared so I had a list of things to get done until he arrived, Just twiddling my thumbs waiting for the missing piece of the family to decide he's ready lol
