He's here !!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
So went in after waters broke as contractions came thick and fast
Midwife recorded active labour at 11.54 born 12.54 so 1 hour exactly absolutely 🤪
Water birth so perfect
Weighed 8lb exactly
He's just perfect so in love
Still no sleep but I'm soo happy ☺️
Have to stay in just to monitor babies blood sugar and temp due to gestational diabetes but all good so far all being well home tomorrow 🥰🥰

Oh congratulations. And so nice to read such a positive birth story.

When will it be my turn 😩 ?!! I can't wait to join those of you that have had your little bundles 😍

Aaaah OP I'm so glad to hear this! What a lovely labour story! Hope you're getting a bit of rest and that you're being spoilt rotten. Huge congratulations xxx

NewandNrvous · 05/02/2023 07:23

Contractions woke me up at 5am, still relatively mild (have to stop and focus but not extremely painful) and 15 mins apart now, god I hope this is it! They feel v. Different to the bh 🤞 partner is happily snoring next to me though and slowly driving me mad everytime he shuffles and snorts 🤣

FebMama · 05/02/2023 09:50

Congratulations to those who have welcomed their little ones!

@NewandNrvous that's exactly how my labour started last Sunday at 38+3... woke up at 3.30am and started timing contractions. It was a loooong day but I was back at the hospital for 11pm the sale night, baby born at 00:43 the following day 🥰 fingers crossed this is it for you!

Smilesarecontagious · 05/02/2023 10:48

Fingers crossed @NewandNrvous ·🤞 good luck x

Can I join? 39 weeks and supposed to be induced today but no beds. They got me in to check my cervix to see if they could break my waters and just put me straight onto the labour ward but apparently there was no sign of any movement. Just going to have to sit tight…

blibbyblobb · 05/02/2023 17:44

@Whatames..oh no fingers crossed all is ok keep us updated.. Im reading quite alot that beds are becoming unavailable and womens induction dates being rescheduled.. I have mine on Friday and i thought i was in labour on Thursday but turns out false alarm

PotatoFacedWombat · 05/02/2023 21:26

Ooooh how exciting newandnrvius I wonder how today has progressed for you!

That's disappointing Whatames - You must have been gearing up for it so it must have felt deflating to have it cancelled. Have they given you another day?

Am 39+4 today. Went for a long walk with my sons and had a lovely chat with them. I do worry about how a new baby will affect them- I'm sure they'll be fine, but they haven't had the easiest of times and we've been a solid team for years and years, the three of us. Now DP and baby are joining and I really hope they'll always still feel the safety and strength of family.

No sign of anything happening. Would love to hear how it's going for those of you who have had your babies! How does it feel? Are you bearing up?

NewandNrvous · 06/02/2023 10:48

Aaaah massive congratulations! Hope your boy is settling and that you're mending x

flawless29 · 06/02/2023 13:56

I just want to offer sympathy. I's almot 35 weeks, and I need this baby out. I need her out so badly that I'm not sleeping or eating. I'm never comfortable. If I find out she's turned her head down today, I will probably cry big, sad, self-indulgent tears, as I can't imagine another potential six-seven week of this. I'm praying for time to move quickly. Good luck to you xx

Sounds perfect! Huge congratulations to you!

stockpilingallthecheese · 06/02/2023 22:11

My little boy will be a week old tomorrow - this first week has gone insanely quickly! My waters had broke on the Sunday evening at 7pm and no appearance until Tuesday morning which ended up being a forceps delivery - cannot believe how the time has passed since then!

We've been home since Thursday and both doing well - I had a very large cut so that's still pretty uncomfortable and swollen but otherwise feeling fine. Baby is a gorgeous angel all day but will not sleep in his next to me crib for more than about 5 mins so last night I ended up co sleeping with him and having a fairly decent night. Husband is being amazing. My mum is coming round tomorrow to just cuddle baby for a few hours so I can have a quick nap and get some jobs done.

Hope everyone else is doing ok, recovering well and getting at least some sleep Grin and those of you who are still waiting, hopefully it won't be long now! I must admit it's so nice to be comfortable in bed and able to just get up off the sofa, even with all the stitches! It's funny how quickly you forget how uncomfortable you were in the last weeks of pregnancy Grin

PotatoFacedWombat · 06/02/2023 22:46

Ooooh a week old stockpiling! What a lovely birthday! It sounds like you're doing really well. Are your hormones settling okay? I remember with one of mine I had a huge weep a few days after his birth, I couldn't believe the world was trusting me to be in charge of an actual human being! Is your baby sleeping in a moses basket during the day at all? Mine never did and I really really REALLY hope this one does...

Still no sign of baby here! I can't believe I'm 2 days from the due date and nothing. They were so convinced that he/she was going to be early, I was admitted a few months ago to have steroids to strengthen baby's lungs! I'm very very glad that didn't happen, but it's quite odd to think that I could well be late after all.

thattravelphotographer · 07/02/2023 01:39

😩 I'm now at 41 weeks...

And just like that, pregnancy is all over and I have a little baby who has already made me forget my moans and groans of the last couple of weeks!

Just wanted to say, I don't know who any of you are, you are all just random strangers and usernames but I found this thread really supportive in my last weeks of pregnancy. It was really nice to have a little network of people all in the same boat! Thank you!

(I'm Kate, from SW London)

Smilesarecontagious · 08/02/2023 09:01
