5 weeks today! Sep 23 Thread

Hi all, I found out I am expecting my second baby on Wednesday, and I'm 5 weeks today. Early days, but wanted to start a thread for those with similar due dates so we can go through the motions together. ☺️
I'm due 10th September. My little boy will be 2 and 3 quarters by then, so a good little age gap.

Any anxieties? For me, less so about the pregnancy this time around, far more chill. My anxiety is surrounding timing. Baby 2 wasn't planned for just now, but a happy surprise and very much wanted. However, the most instrumental career opportunity for me is coming up in the next 2-4 months or so, and I was hoping to get this role. It may or may not have come off anyway, but I don't want my pregnancy to be the determining factor (I don't think my company would outwardly discriminate, but they might find a 'business reason' I wasn't successful), so I ideally need to keep my pregnancy hidden from work for as long as possible. If I get the role, I will have no worries in taking Mat leave around August and return next year, as I know I'll do a damn good job for them once I'm back, and for the foreseeable future. Anyway... that's my one thing at the mo! ☺️

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Hello, I am 5+1 I think and due around 10th September.
I have had two miscarriages (one early and one MMC) so I'm very anxious at the moment. I was about to start IVF when I got a positive.
I've an early NHS reassurance scan booked for a couple of weeks time.
Only symptoms are boobs are more sore at times and I've had some stomach issues today. Also tired but I have a 3 year old so hard to tell if that's them or this! Wishing everyone luck in their pregnancies x

@NWnature sorry to hear that too, fingers crossed for your next cycle

took a clear blue digital which gave a negative result, but still testing positive on the strip tests. Got my husband to do one too so I could be certain it wasn’t an evap line. Going to do my best to relax and not test again until the weekend, then I’ll either be a bit further on & should be a stronger positive or I’ll have got my period!

Hi !
I'm 5 weeks, I got my BFP on the 3rd Jan and have a due date of 9th September.
Second baby and had some really strong symptoms which prompted me to test, but nothing at the moment. Last time I was nauseous from about 6 weeks so expecting that to turn up any time.

Have you all talked to hospitals / midwives yet? I'm not sure if I should leave it for a bit or get things underway now.

Congratulations everyone !

So sorry @NWnature 💐💐

@WideOpenSpaces Im calling my dr this week when I'll be 5 weeks to check the process then will probably make a referral a few days after. I think they say if you have a medical condition do it ASAP but in general sometimes there can be a bit of a backlog so dont wait too long.

@WideOpenSpaces I've booked mine, I've got my early reassurance scan and booking in date. I have some factors that make me higher risk with age and I had GD last time so I felt it best to get them booked in, if the worst happens I will cancel. X

Congratulations!! So many of us already.💕

So sorry to hear some of you haven't had your BFP this time. Sending love.

Symptom wise. Nausea started for me around 6 weeks last time, and I can feel it starting to build now, but certainly not in the thick of it yet. Also quite tired... but okay - it only gets worse. 😫

Peeing lots! And hungry constantly.

Feeling some mild cramps occasionally as womb adjusts, very similar to last time. I remember being really scared by this first time around, understandably!

Oh! And yes, I filled out the maternity referral form on my local hospitals website on Friday, so expect a letter in the next week with my first midwife appointment soon.

@HattieRosa i think mild pains/twinges are quite common as the uterus stretches to allow space for the growing fetus. As long as it’s not painful enough to need pain killers, I wouldn’t worry. Good luck for the scan tomorrow X

@PPop congratulations!! How many weeks aww you now?

@Tinkerbell098 I worked out that I'm around 4-5 weeks! Because of Christmas I don't know exactly when I ovulated but my last period was 13/12 and I'm a 27/28 day cycle fairly regularly!
So excited to take this next stage!
I am a bit anxious as my sister has had a couple of MC quite recently and it does get in your head doesn't it?!

Hello, joining today as we’ve just had a FRER positive test this evening at 10DPO! Calculators suggest 26th Sept as due date, so currently 3+2.

Completely in a state of shock/terror/excitement 😬 was our first cycle TTC and as stupid as it sounds, we did not expect this outcome!

I think we thought we’d have more time to learn about what to do once we were successful and now panicking as what to do next 😂

Congrats to everyone!

Also first cycle TTC #1, due date 27th Sept if all remains positive and in the same boat of thinking we'd have longer! Xx

I got my positive test on Tuesday, in total shock! But so happy. We've got a 1 year old, so 2 under 2 is going to be a challenge haha!

Hi all, I think I’m around 4+2 due 21st Sept! This is my second baby and not really feeling any symptoms at all which feels strange but I remember before they didn’t really kick in until between 6 and 7 weeks. Xx

Hiya lovely! I can relate to this in so many ways! I just found out I was pregnant yesterday 12/1/23 After an ectopic and losing my tube 4 years ago. I’m very very anxious 😥 I tested last night and it was positive, and now this morning it’s seem way darker which is great but I’m just so nervous. I had a bit of small bleeding this morning when I wiped. Head is going in overdrive I’m just waiting to ring my gp this morning.
