5 weeks today! Sep 23 Thread

Hi all, I found out I am expecting my second baby on Wednesday, and I'm 5 weeks today. Early days, but wanted to start a thread for those with similar due dates so we can go through the motions together. ☺️
I'm due 10th September. My little boy will be 2 and 3 quarters by then, so a good little age gap.

Any anxieties? For me, less so about the pregnancy this time around, far more chill. My anxiety is surrounding timing. Baby 2 wasn't planned for just now, but a happy surprise and very much wanted. However, the most instrumental career opportunity for me is coming up in the next 2-4 months or so, and I was hoping to get this role. It may or may not have come off anyway, but I don't want my pregnancy to be the determining factor (I don't think my company would outwardly discriminate, but they might find a 'business reason' I wasn't successful), so I ideally need to keep my pregnancy hidden from work for as long as possible. If I get the role, I will have no worries in taking Mat leave around August and return next year, as I know I'll do a damn good job for them once I'm back, and for the foreseeable future. Anyway... that's my one thing at the mo! ☺️

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Hello Im due in September as well 4w1d and got 2 to 3 on a clearblue yesterday!

Completely get your anxieties at work, hopefully your company is good and will give it to you regardless but I understanding wanting to keep it a secret. My company have been taking over and roles could be a risk so that has not helped the stress! But I've also been a bit worried about the pregnancy taking test everyday but when the test have run out I've promised myself I'm just going to be patient!

Also congrats @sadie do you know how many dpo you are

Hi OP, I’m 5 weeks today too. Had a miscarriage end of Oct so being very cautious still. Have you started any symptoms yet as I don’t seem to have any, which is worrying me.

elleh2023 · 07/01/2023 21:25

Hi I'm 4w 4d due 13th September🙂

clb8921 · 07/01/2023 22:12

5 weeks tomorrow 😊 Also second baby, my little boy will be almost 2.5 in September. Trying to be relaxed and not think about things too much at the moment as still early days. Strangely more anxious this time around, but can’t put my finger on why! I thought time would fly having a toddler to look after, but it’s seriously dragging.

NWnature · 08/01/2023 08:59

Hi all and congrats!

I am not sure if I am pregnant or not… we started TTC in December and my last period started on 5th. My cycle is usually 28 days but sometimes can be a few longer. I don’t track ovulation.

Anyway I’m now seven days late! I tried a Clear Blue digital test a few days ago and one came back with the book sign / invalid result and then the second one was “not pregnant”. However after still no sign of period I ordered a box of the cheap strips from Amazon and I’m sure I am seeing faint lines on these but surely this late after my period is due the line should be much darker? Also having reread reviews on the cheap tests people do report false negatives. I’ve ordered some more Clear Blue to try again.

I am 35 and this would be my second baby, my son is 2.

Pictures of the tests below including one of my husbands wee as a control 😆 Let me know any thoughts / wisdom on such faint lines at this stage please.

Found out I am pregnant today. According to the calculator, due Sept 2024.

We have been trying to conceive for 2 years after a rather horrendous ruptured ectopic pregnancy where I lost one of my tubes and ovaries.

I am booked in to see the Dr. and I am very very nervous 😓

This will hopefully be my first baby 👶

I obviously meant 2023 😅

Hey @NWnature so hard to know without knowing when you ovulated but those lines don't look too faint to me hopefully you just ovulated later than usual. These are my earlier test on cheapies for reference, I managed to write the days down wrong so 11 is 10 12 is 11 and so on, test again 2moro but don't be suprised if its not too much darker as HCG doubles every 48 hours. I've heard first responce are more sensive than clear blue digitals so maybe try that!

Aw congrats @HattieRosa you really deserve this!

I can confirm time is seriously dragging over here as well with 0 toddlers @clb8921

I would say that looks pretty positive to me!! Congratulations!☺️

Hi all and congratulations! I am 3 days late and have tested positive on 3 cheapo test sticks this morning, fairly faint but definitely a line. Picked up a proper clear blue one to do tomorrow first thing, feeling cautious as also had some pink spotting and cramps, so not feeling 100% yet. Also felt a bit sick yesterday/ today but that could be nerves / coincidence. It’s a mad feeling, this would be my first :)

NWnature · 08/01/2023 15:34

@HattieRosa huge congrats to you! Hope everything goes smoothly at the Dr for you.

Thanks so much @Nypie thats really useful to compare. Congrats to you ! So exciting!

I really hope you are right @RosyCheeks93 fingers crossed! I want to believe so badly. I think this week will probably make it a bit clearer hopefully.

Lastly congrats @surfingdreams too! Lovely news all round.

xerl · 08/01/2023 16:46

Hi all and congrats everyone!

I’m 5w 5d today (due 6th Sept) and feeling very excited for the future!

Is anyone else experiencing symptoms? Currently struggling with nausea, sore boobs and just pure exhaustion. I’m a teacher so that probably doesn’t help! This is my first pregnancy so also feeling the nerves!

Nypie · 08/01/2023 17:16

@NWnature 🤞🤞🤞for 2moros line but in this moment you are pregnant...thats what I've been telling myself. Its been a loong week 😂

Good luck for your clear blue @surfingdreams this will be my first aswell!

Congrats @xerl my symptoms are hard nipples, strong sense of smell, lower back pain, a dull scensation in my left side, what feels like a pang down there and I am so so so tired. God help me at work 2moro

Tinkerbell098 · 08/01/2023 17:51

@xerl no symptoms as of yet which worries me. I’m 5+1 today. When did the symptoms kick start?

Em4815 · 08/01/2023 18:11

Hi all - first cycle TTC after taking 8-9 months to fall with my son (now 20 months) so was a bit of a shock to get this this morning! Hoping it's not a random false positive - will obviously test again tomorrow so 🤞🏻 won't be 4 weeks until Wednesday so it's an early one 😬

Symptom-wise I'm feeling a bit sick and tired and I have had really sore boobs for over a week!

Em4815 · 09/01/2023 08:07

@Tinkerbell098 with my first I had no symptoms the entire time, literally zilch. In hindsight it's a blessing but meant it was a bit stressful wondering if anything was going on when I only had the positive pregnancy tests to back me up! Try not to worry - I didn't get an early scan with my first but that might be an option for you if no symptoms continue?

Em4815 · 09/01/2023 08:10

Did a second test today which is darker so I think I do belong here after all 😊 due around 20th Sept (but cycles have been weird since stopping breastfeeding so fully expect that to change!)

Congratulations to all!

@Em4815 thanks :) I'm getting bloods done tomorrow and will consider a scan depending on the results. That is great line progression! Congratulations!

Alysskea · 09/01/2023 09:22

Hi everyone :) 5+1 today with my first. Struggling a bit with feeling worried about things but trying to stay positive!

Sadiexox · 09/01/2023 09:25

I'm actually getting fairly worried, my tests done seem to be getting any darker :(

NWnature · 09/01/2023 10:16

Congrats @Alysskea - try to stay positive !

@Sadiexox sending good vibes! I am in the same boat just had super faint results on the cheap tests thus far. Try not to overthink it. When I had my first, I just did a clear blue digital and literally forgot about it. I would try not to get too hung up on the line progression thing (easy to say I know!) but I think it adds to anxiety. Keeping everything crossed for you.

NWnature · 09/01/2023 11:18

I knew it was too good to be true for me. Just went to do another test and have started bleeding. Hopefully next time :(
