Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JanuaryBirthdays · 15/10/2022 08:15

Thanks for the new thread!
Had an awful night sleep again last night, seem to be waking up with hip pain then not being able to get back to sleep for hours.
I was up from 3am-6am, and have now been woken up by my other kids at 730...
It's been such a stressful week already as we received the news our landlord is selling our house. I should be prepping the house for baby to come - not prepping to move 😢
Feeling very sorry for myself today!

greenerfingers · 15/10/2022 08:37

Thank you @NotAdultingToday!

So sorry to hear that @JanuaryBirthdays. How long do you have to move? I hope you can get a lot of help and sort everything out. We had similar but no move and no space for baby. Everything is ok for the next 6 months or so. I'll try and stress after that. Is there anyway you can make a short term plan to focus on for now?

OtiMama · 15/10/2022 08:37

Thank you, might just be worth posting the link to this on the other one as I didn't see my tag, only just saw the post on the list.

@JanuaryBirthdays I feel you are definitely allowed to feel sorry for yourself. The lack of sleep when baby isn't even here is just cruel isn't it. Pain is usually the reason I can't sleep either. Hope it feels better soon. Sorry to hear about your house too, how stressful. Have you managed to find somewhere to go?

JanuaryBirthdays · 15/10/2022 08:47

Thanks both,
We haven't officially been given our notice yet so we know we have at least 2 months to get things sorted. We have a viewing today but the place is available the day after due date!
We are hoping that we can stretch it out here a bit and not move until the baby is here but would rather be in settled somewhere before ideally. Its the not knowing that's causing the stress.

Beanniebaby22 · 15/10/2022 09:46

@NotAdultingToday Thanks for new thread x

@JanuaryBirthdays Oh no that sounds so stressful, the last thing you need right now!
Yes I can relate about the disturbed sleep, I tossed and turned for hours last night, couldn’t get comfortable.

It feels like baby has dropped down lower, my lower abdomen feels heavy and I have to pee all the time.

KatRee · 15/10/2022 09:56

I'm very very late to the party, but do you mind if I join?

We are expecting our first - a baby boy- due November 21st.

It's an ivf pregnancy our first BFP after about 3 years ttc and 2 failed cycles and I've had a lot of anxiety throughout the pregnancy, but finally starting to believe it's actually happening now!

CurlyNo2 · 15/10/2022 10:13

Thanks for the new thread.

I’ve woken up today with incredibly sore joints everywhere, fingers, knuckles, knees, ankles?

Anybody else ready for the little one to make an appearance? I’ve still got 5.5 weeks to go but this pregnancy has been so hard. My 1st pregnancy was a dream compared to this one.

Really considering asking the GP to sign me off for the next 2 weeks until I’m 36 weeks as that’s when my employer forces you to start mat leave if you’re off sick. I was going at 37 weeks anyway. My PGP has got a lot worse, I struggled to put any weight on my legs and hips yesterday - but on the flip side, I have so much to complete in work before I finish that I feel so much guilt and think should I try and persevere for the next 3 weeks in work?

greenerfingers · 15/10/2022 10:34

Aww that's lovely @KatRee, you're almost there! Hope the last few weeks treat you well.

greenerfingers · 15/10/2022 10:35

I've felt like that forever @Beanniebaby22 😂. My stomach looks low too but I think second time I'm just carrying so differently. My bump is definitely a strange shape, the midwife even commented on it to her student expressing her belief I'm still breech (scan confirmed baby is head down, I just have a weird bump this time).

TFMinx · 15/10/2022 14:29

Excellent, thanks for the new thread @NotAdultingToday Smile

roobearbaby · 15/10/2022 15:11

Thanks for setting up @NotAdultingToday

roobearbaby · 15/10/2022 15:13

Question...it's ok to lie on your right hand side right? Even for a little while?

I wake up at night in agony with my left hip so roll over and lie on my right for a while until the pain in my left hip settles down and then roll back!

CurlyNo2 · 15/10/2022 15:25

@roobearbaby I’m not sure, however I do this every night as my left hip cripples me with pain so roll onto my right for some respite. I have read that even laying on your back 1-2 hours isn’t that bad*, it’s just all night that you shouldn’t.

*happy to be corrected if I'm wrong, I read this in a scientific study online as I think this is the reason why I can’t sleep at night and have 9 pillows surrounding me to keep me propped up!

greenerfingers · 15/10/2022 16:37

@roobearbaby latest studies are showing there's no real difference sleeping on right or left. The back is an issue for long periods and even that some are now raising concerns with the study that linked it to stillborn deaths and the quality of the study.

I sleep on all 3, start of left, end up on back for a bit and then right. On my back though I'm very propped up and have a cushion under my knees too. My back is only way I get relief from rib pain, and my sides give me back relief.

OtiMama · 15/10/2022 19:13

I agree left and right are fine, the video in my maternity unit doesn't specify a side. Also not to worry if you wake up on your back, just roll to your side. To be honest I am not sure on the validity of the research unless you had other issues already, although I find I can't stay on my back long anyway. I mean in the hospital if you go in for certain checks you are on your back for over an hour then.

We went for a walk and to the park with my son this afternoon, I ache!! Sofa and ball for me tonight.

roobearbaby · 15/10/2022 19:28

Thanks everyone.

Oooof I feel the pain after a walk, went for a walk with my hubby and dogs today and I'm laid up on the sofa unable to move.

Feel like I have run a marathon

greenerfingers · 15/10/2022 19:45

I also went for a walk -waddle- today and it's taken it's toll. It was barely 3,000 steps and I'm shattered! I really must work on my overall fitness after this pregnancy and do my best to shed the weight. I now have the combined weight of two pregnancies and it's just too much.

roobearbaby · 15/10/2022 20:25

Non pregnancy related question...do I have another portion of lasagna or do I tuck into the tiramisu in the fridge?

My appetite throughout this pregnancy has been no joke! I'm surprised I've not put on 10 stone

CurlyNo2 · 15/10/2022 20:27

Oh tiramisu every time!

I'm the same, I cannot stop eating. I reckon this is why baby is massive, not GD it’s because I can’t stop bloody eating. It’s all I think about.

greenerfingers · 15/10/2022 20:35

Tiramisu always!

roobearbaby · 15/10/2022 21:17

I took your advice and hit the pud! The "serves 6" on the box was laughable 🤣🐖

ALittleBitofVitriol · 15/10/2022 21:58

Yay new thread! Welcome @KatRee , congratulations!
What rotten timing @JanuaryBirthdays!

I end up rolling on both sides and back through the night. Hips get sore on the sides and need the back for a bit to take pressure off/realign everything! Bubs was very wriggly last night and I feel quite sore & tired this morning.

Anna783426 · 15/10/2022 22:43

Thanks for the new thread!

My sleep has been shocking too, I feel your pain! Woke up at 2am last night but could not switch off and go back to sleep until 5am... Very annoyed with myself! I also wonder every time I'm strapped into a CTG if I should be on my back for so long...

I'm due 8th November but booked for an induction early this week... Eeek! Went to look round a Forest School today for my daughter and climbed up a big hill - my hips are definitely not think me for it now...

Beanniebaby22 · 15/10/2022 22:55

Has anyone had Braxton Hicks and what did it feel like? I’m not sure if that’s what I’m experiencing right now.
