Also sorry can’t remember who said about breathlessness but I’m breathless loads to point husband keeps asking me if I’m in pain as I’m heavy breathing lol, I think it’s the iron deficiency and pressure

TFMinx · 16/10/2022 18:23

It's irritating because we would've us d it had DS been a DD and both of us were happy using it for this DD. It's like it's the eleventh hour and it's all change.

I like to be prepared (part of my OCD diagnosis) and will spiral into a state of OCD fog if we don't have a name in advance.

TFMinx · 16/10/2022 18:32

@CurlyNo2 I'm finding it so much harder this time around. I'm 36 and feel 136! I've had everything on the pregnancy bingo card and I'm counting the days until she's fully cooked!

NotAdultingToday · 16/10/2022 18:38

@sarahj878 poor you! Fingers crossed it will hurry up and sort out!
I have that alot too especially if i then have to walk
It was me who said about the breathlessness, pressure is the right word for it! Its like he is sitting on my lungs, not that it matters but i dont think he has dropped down yet lol

@CurlyNo2 thats hard! I dont blame you for finishing earlier.
I agree it feels alot harder, i put it down to putting on weight being less fit and being older. But i was chatting to my cousin today and she said she found the second time harder too so maybe its a thing?

@TFMinx it is irritating, i can see why you want to sort it. Are there any other names in the mix?

I’ve obviously been hiding under a rock all of October so far as I ventured out today and someone asked ‘when are you due?’, felt the panic set in when I responded ‘next month’. Ahhhhhhhhh. NEXT MONTH.

TFMinx · 16/10/2022 19:18

There were a couple of tentative suggestions today, but we'll have to have a proper discussion. I wish I was a 'yeah whatever' type person when it comes to names!

Elle1709 · 16/10/2022 19:43

We had a name picked out since I found out I was pregnant, but we have changed our mind recently. I still love the first name, but I started seeing it everywhere and got worried that it is maybe becoming too popular. We are still deciding on middle names, we are thinking of using a name with a family connection, is anyone else doing this?

I've also got so much pressure, but on my bladder. Feels like I'm going to wet myself! Putting my feet up now with a bar of chocolate and a movie 🙂 only 16 days now till my c section! Getting very nervous.

greenerfingers · 16/10/2022 19:58

So many of us in agony at this stage. Hate that everyone feels this way and same time I feel better knowing I'm not the only one having a nightmare of it this time round. I definitely think second pregnancies are much much harder on the body. I struggle to walk now but keep telling myself I got through the hyperemesis I can get through the rib and pelvic pain. One day at a time! I hit 34 weeks today and that's really lifted my spirits.

I'm seeing the consultant on Tuesday (finally!!) and can't wait to discuss birthing options and be checked. They lost me on the system since May 😑😑. Such terrible 'care' post covid. Luckily my midwife had a go and couldn't believe it. She's asked me to report to PALS. Will see if I have the energy.

Even though I have 6+ weeks potentially, it's exciting knowing the first babies of the group aren't far away. Wishful thinking but I'd love to have my baby at 38 weeks as long as it's healthy and fully cooked of course (I never understood why mothers would say this during my first pregnancy but boy oh boy do I get it now).

sarahj878 · 16/10/2022 19:59

@Elle1709 yes, feels exactly like going to wet myself! Also considering names with family connections. Do you know what you’re having? I’ve got planned section too in little over a month, I’m in denial over how soon it is because of all the stuff have to finish before then

CurlyNo2 · 16/10/2022 20:09

@Elle1709 my son has my dads first name.

if this baby is a boy it will have my FIL’s middle name Thomas and if it’s a girl it will have my grans first name Elizabeth.

My son has an unusual first name so we have to follow style and name this one similar vein I think.

NotAdultingToday · 16/10/2022 20:10

Haha i am actually wetting myself a little 😂 Im just using pads constantly now, ill be glad to have that stop! Not that my bladder was great to start with.

smiles39 i know what you mean i cant believe its next month! It seemed ages away and now its round the corner!

TFMinx at least you have something, its finding the time to sit down and talk isnt it?

greenerfingers it is exciting isnt it? Though i think i will have a little jealously as i want him out now 😂 so many mums on the facebook group im on have had babies already its crazy!
I cant believe its taken you so long to see a consultant! Pals is a good idea but its like you said having the energy

Theres family connects for names here 😊 Ds1 has my dads name and i think we are going to use my great uncles name for no2. Dh isnt bothered about using his male family
If we were having a girl we going to honour my mil and my great aunt who died last year as she was basically a grandmother to me

NotAdultingToday · 16/10/2022 20:12

Sorry i meant to say using their names for middle names

OP posts:
TFMinx · 16/10/2022 20:20

Ok so miraculously I think we've sorted the name dilemma! We were originally going with first name my DM's name, however after a proper discussion, we're going to go with a name that sounds similar to my DM's name no middle name. Hope we've made the right choice.

I must admit that I had a little cry at the 'loss' of the first name, but I know I'm being ridiculous there and it's the hormones taking over.

Elle1709 · 16/10/2022 21:00

@ssarahj878 I'm having a girl 🙂 will this be your first elective c section?

Aw I thinks its lovely all the family connections with names, it makes them really meaningful.

greenerfingers · 16/10/2022 21:41

I will most definitely be feeling a little jealous but also it will keep me busy @NotAdultingToday 😂. I just pray I don't end up in the December board. Going over 40 weeks is my nightmare!

Kathno4 · 16/10/2022 21:45

37+4 today, 42 weeks will be 16th of Nov for me. So exactly a month at most to go 🤩
ive been wanting baby to come, but now everything seems so real I’m thinking ‘please not today I’m not ready 😬’ this next week brings 2 step childrens birthdays - ones 13 the other 18 …. I wish we would know exactly when our babies would be here 🥲

mjb0616 · 16/10/2022 23:30

Hi ladies!

I have been a bit quiet on this thread and mainly lurking in the background.

Just wanted to say thank you for everyone sharing their journey so far, it is really comforting that many of us are going through the same things. I am due for my c section on the 7th so not long now!

I hope everyone is managing to get plenty of rest where possible :) looking forward to the posts of the first babies from the thread

ALittleBitofVitriol · 17/10/2022 01:23

Ah it's lovely reading along, misery loves company lol. Yeah, I feel a million years old this time (38), much harder than my last pregnancy (at 29!)
I have another scan/monitoring/dr appointment this afternoon and I'm glad, I've been SO SORE. Back pain and cramp pain and pressure down there. Not quite labour cramps but I'm struggling to be vertical for more than an hour at a time. I'm 36+4, I need at least another week - one of my ds's has a music exam next Sunday... but gee I'm looking forward to this baby being Out!

Names, my older kids all have family related middle names, oldest 2 (girl & boy) are after dh's dear grandparents who he idolised. Next son's middle name is a diminutive of dh's middle name. Next son's middle name has one of my dad's middle names. This one so far doesn't have a middle name and might not at all. None of my nieces or nephews have middle names - both sides of the family - which I find a bit weird but maybe it's a thing. Dh isn't keen on a middle name this time and I don't want to stick a random name with no meaning in there just for the sake of it so, who knows...

ALittleBitofVitriol · 17/10/2022 01:25

Their first names are all pretty unusual and their middle names more normal, as an option. This one's name is a bit unusual but lends to lots of nicknames so maybe not such an issue...

sarahj878 · 17/10/2022 09:52

@Elle1709 aw lovely! No it’s my second, I had ELCS with my son but also would have ended up being medically necessary as well as he was very firmly breech. I had such a lovely experience so I hope I have the same experience this time, although I seem to have erased the recovery period from my memory so I’m not certain what to expect after as silly as that sounds and have been feeling a bit nervous! Do you feel ok about it? What date are you scheduled for?

Elle1709 · 17/10/2022 12:41

@ssarahj878 booked in for 1st November, so only 2 weeks now! This will be my first. Its good to hear you had a nice experience with your first elective. I'm feeling quite nervous about it, as I really don't know what to expect, but all the consultants I have met have been lovely and I'm hoping it will all go well. I'll probably be really nervous when its actually the day, but I'm just trying to remind myself that so many women have sections every day and trying not to worry!

Dontbeaneejit · 17/10/2022 17:11

Can't believe how close it's getting. Booked my sweep today as my trust now allow you to opt for one at 39 weeks. Last time was super effective and baby was born 10 hours later so here's hoping. Practically living on my ball now trying to be ready for it.

greenerfingers · 17/10/2022 21:53

How exciting @Elle1709 ! I hope it all goes well.

Im on my ball now too @Dontbeaneejit but haven't started bouncing properly yet. I have a consultant appointment tomorrow and they're always worried about me going into early labour so I'm told to wait till 36 weeks before any exercise. Hopefully I'll get an a date for my pre delivery op that I need and can finally after that breathe and enjoy the last bits of pregnancy. Just so glad to be a getting date for the op.

Beanniebaby22 · 17/10/2022 21:58

@greenerfingers @Dontbeaneejit oh dear I’ve been on my ball for weeks already lol.

I just find it so much more comfortable to sit on than the sofa! And if it gets baby into the right position that’s a bonus. As far as I know he is still head down but back to back. Hopefully he will flip round as I hear back to back is more painful and a longer labour 😳

Bramblecrumble22 · 17/10/2022 22:01

Hi, I've been quiet. I think I've caught up. Celebrating getting to 37 weeks yesterday. As, my second pregnancy and first was born at 36+5. Last week after a scan i was booked in for an induction at 40+1, because babys not growing quite as much. Allthough I don't want to take the induction offer now,. Knowing how unreliable scans are, and we're both fit and well. 3rd trimester scans for my first were reliable at predicting her birth weight though.

I've been quiet as I have nothing to complain about.
