Dontbeaneejit · 17/10/2022 22:52

@Beanniebaby22 we were back to back last week at my growth scan but at the appointment today midwife was fairly confident baby has turned over so that's good as I was worried about a posterior labour too. Still time for turning!

Has anyone else suffered with fairly consistent tachycardia? My heart rate sits around 100bpm even at rest and I've so far had about 5 shorts ecgs then a scan of my heart and a 24 hour trace. I've not had any results except that the normal short ecgs were normal just fast. Not sure if this is something I should be worried about going into labour or if it's just one of those things. midwife mentioned it again today my heart rate rarely drops below 100...

CurlyNo2 · 17/10/2022 23:22

Oh ladies, I’m back at the maternity assessment unit as I’ve been bleeding with period pains. They’ve said I deffo have a UTI, but I’m terrified this is early labour! Just waiting to see a doctor. Baby has been monitored and has been moving about fine.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 17/10/2022 23:46

So nice to see everyone checking in!

@Dontbeaneejit I don't know anything about that, do you feel out of breath or anything? I would think some raise in rate is normal with all the extra blood. Hope it's nothing to worry about!

@CurlyNo2 how scary! You're in the right place! Hope it settles down for you!

I had appointments yesterday (36+4) baby still breech 😒 fluid levels have dropped again to officially too low 😒😒 so they won't even attempt an ECV to turn him 😒😒😒 especially since they can't explain the low fluid.
I'm basically on bed rest (hate) dh & my kids are managing everything and making me rest. I have another round of appointments next week at 37+4 and if no improvement, c section at 39 weeks.

Feb85 · 18/10/2022 00:30

Oh @CurlyNo2 that sounds very scary & worrying on you, I hope you are doing ok, you are in the right place x

greenerfingers · 18/10/2022 01:05

It's time for me nightly pee session and being awoken by toddler. Just catching up.

How scary @CurlyNo2. Just glad you're being monitored and hopefully everything is ok even if early labour.

Why are you on bedrest @ALittleBitofVitriol? Because of the fluid levels? Sorry to hear that they arent attempting an ecv. If it weren't for the bedrest I'd definitely say go fully at it with the spinning m babies and drinking lots.

@Dontbeaneejit and @Beanniebaby22 now not to scare you both but my little darling rascal turned back to back at 4cm dilated. They can turn at anytime. However having the exercise ball really helped encourage turn him back again. Labour started very productive then slowed with back to back then picked up when he turned back again. He did have a really long head from all the turning, looked like ventouse delivery!

I don't think it's an issue sitting on the ball (been doing that since they told me baby was breech and it really helped but I mean I plan to start bouncing and spinning my hips on it.

CurlyNo2 · 18/10/2022 01:12

Thanks ladies! Doctor has been called to a c-section so looks like it’s going to be a very long night!

CurlyNo2 · 18/10/2022 02:35

So I have a nasty UTI and have been given antibiotics as they’ve cultured it last week when I was in so got the correct ones for this bacteria.

My cervix is closed but the bleeding is a bloody show that she isn’t worried about at this stage. Felt mortified as I obviously haven’t tidied downstairs as out of sight, out of mind and all that!

I may have a vaginal infection so have to await the swab results. But she reckons all the pain I’ve been feeling down below relates to the UTI.

Now home to bed for a 6am wake up! On a good note, I’ve brought my mat leave forward so finishing on Wednesday- whoop!!

ALittleBitofVitriol · 18/10/2022 06:27

Yeah @greenerfingers, just the fluid levels and some pain. It's not exactly official bed rest just highly recommended to REST as it's the only thing they say will help and my dh is taking it very literally, sending me back to bed and taking care of everything.

1mel90 · 18/10/2022 09:03

Hey,
Im very late to the group. I’m due 6th November this is our 3rd attempt after two miscarriages last year. I’m not going to lie but iv been so nervous and still am that somethings going to go wrong, don’t feel like Iv been able to enjoy this one as I should. we had a growth scan last week & they said he was measuring 7lb 14oz 🫣. I’m currently 37 + 2.

greenerfingers · 18/10/2022 11:34

Welcome @1mel90. I had similar with my last pregnancy. Loss and then almost lost him too. It was really hard. I wasn't comfortable till I hit 37/38 weeks and even then I was worried but everything worked out and I've been more confident this time round. I also wouldn't worry too much about the growth scan as my son measured the same but was 7lb at 40 weeks. They can be really off.

greenerfingers · 18/10/2022 11:35

I went to the dentist today and felt the baby do a complete spin. Hope it hasn't turned breech when the chair went down!!

sarahj878 · 18/10/2022 15:02

@greenerfingers thats so funny that you should say that because I went to the dentist today and it was like baby was disco dancing inside me! They’re either going to be fearful of the dentist or have no fear at all lol

greenerfingers · 18/10/2022 15:13

They probably think there's been an earthquake 😅 @sarahj878

Cocobeau · 18/10/2022 15:36

Sorry to hear you're all having a crappy time. I'm fortunate as I'm still fine for the most part, managing to keep pretty active and go to the gym, work, etc. I don't think age plays a part as I'm no spring chicken but I also don't have other child to run around after.

I definitely get the whole needing to pee thing as soon as I stand up and it takes me about 15 minutes to settle into a walk without it feeling like my insides are dropping down to my feet. Such a weird and slightly gross sensation.

As much as I love feeling this little life wriggling around I'm very ready to just have a baby now. I find I'm keeping an eye on this thread now mainly to see who is the first to start the birth ball rolling. I'm exited to start seeing all the arrivals news come through. 🤗

Elle1709 · 18/10/2022 15:49

I agree its so exciting that we will have our babies soon, it will be lovely to hear the birth announcements and names etc. On that note, im currently packing my hospital essentials and wondering if I should bring snacks and whether I will need something for lunch and dinner while in the hospital. I've heard that the hospital food is awful from a few people who've recently given birth. Has anyone got any advice? What sort of food were you offered afterwards? Not sure why I'm so focused on the food, perhaps it is the pregnancy hormones making me hungry 😅

CurlyNo2 · 18/10/2022 15:50

The tea and toast you are given straight after birth is probably going to be one of the best meals you’ve ever had 😜

greenerfingers · 18/10/2022 16:05

Definitely take snacks @Elle1709. And have other food on standby that your other half could drop to you if you dislike hospital food and need a few days stay. I despise hospital food. Also if this is your first (I'm sorry I can't keep up and never remember!) try to choose food easy on the gut. Last thing you want is to feel constipated and aggravate it.

Bubblegum20 · 18/10/2022 17:21

@Elle1709 yes defo take some snacks with you! If you really don't like hospital food and have to stay in for a night or two after birth, you could always get a Deliveroo/just eat or something similar delivered to the hospital! The hospital I go to don't mind at all when patients do it, they'd just rather you eat something than nothing!

Kez152 · 18/10/2022 17:47

Also late to the party- I am expecting a little girl on 17th November.

greenerfingers · 18/10/2022 17:55

Such a frustrating day. After 2 hours of waiting my consultant didn't see me herself but sent her registrar who then proceeded to argue my dates with me. I said I'm 34 weeks she said no you're 32. Finally I made her calculate and she calculated WRONG! And I made her do it again. She finally conceded. I need a procedure 36-37 weeks latest and she was booking me for 38-39. It was such a waste of an appt as she didn't do any of the checks I used to get and told me go to triage for another 4 hour wait and get checked there. Sigh. Such a frustrating time. She then tried gaslighting me telling me they never do those checks (they did my last pregnancy). Finally she said ok yes truth is we're short staffed. Argh! Sorry rant over. I was looking forward to this appt and it was such a waste of my afternoon. I also am no closer to any answers and might have to go private for my procedure if I don't hear back in time from the nhs.

Beanniebaby22 · 18/10/2022 19:05

@greenerfingers thats so annoying! Doesn’t inspire much confidence in maternity services.

I am feeling rough today. Had another growth scan and they couldn’t get the head measurement properly, so they said the estimated weight was likely wrong. But then said if still measuring big at next appointment we would have to talk about induction, which I really don’t want!
Plus I’ve a stinking headache and had protein in my urine but they didn’t seem to concerned because my blood pressure was ok.
Feeling very stressed 😩

greenerfingers · 18/10/2022 19:46

Sorry to hear that @Beanniebaby22. Keep drinking lots of fluids (last thing you want when needing to pee constantly). Hopefully it's just a one off headache and not an infection.

CurlsnLipstick · 18/10/2022 20:35

Eek @CurlyNo2 I hope all goes well tomorrow and wish you a quick recovery from the UTI.

@greenerfingers I hate when they think they know better. I'm glad you insisted and stood your ground.

@Beanniebaby22 aww I hope you feel better and headache is nothing to worry about. I agree with PP, just stay hydrated.

I've had a good day only because constipation meds finally working and feel much lighter. Sorry if tmi 😅

Other than that, just talked to a friend with similar due date. She had her hosp bags packed at 25weeks. She even has her DH an outfit packed just incase baby messes it.😱 I on the other hand, have yet to pack a thing. If baby come this week, a Tesco bag with some last min items will have to do.

CurlsnLipstick · 18/10/2022 20:37

Congrats and welcome @Kez152

SwordToFlamethrower · 18/10/2022 20:51

My EDD is 28th October but my first two babies were 42 and 43 weekers, so I'm thinking 10th November is my actual due date
