@Cocobeau I have started on the ball a bit since just before 37 weeks…. Last appt last Wednesday baby was 1/5 engaged but could pop in and out as full baby number 4. Baby has become so active and strong these past couple of weeks. I’ve been getting so sore. Asked my partner to feel a limb poking out and I’ve had the down below daggers ever since. I’ve got a feeling this baby will be the biggest I’ve had 😬 38 weeks tomorrow and wouldn’t mind going in any other day than tomorrow or Sunday as 2 step son’s birthdays. They’ll be 13 and 18 and I don’t want to take up ‘their days’ 🙈🤣

Anna783426 · 18/10/2022 22:25

@greenerfingers I feel your pain! I feel like I've spent hours and hours just waiting to be seen recently!

I was meant to be induced yesterday but no beds available. Got the call this morning and was ready to roll, only to find I have a bed on the induction ward but not the delivery ward. I've started to dilate so don't even need to be induced, just need to get my waters broken but waiting for a room to become available for that... The last few weeks every doctor I've seen has flagged they don't want me going past 37 weeks so it's a little frustrating to be here just waiting... Trying to be zen and very much struggling!

On the plus side exciting all our babies are so much closer!

ALittleBitofVitriol · 19/10/2022 02:14

I feel like I should know this but... show/mucous plug, anyone know what does it look like?

Tmi:

No blood, but a big, gloopy, whitish blob all at once. I'd say a tablespoons worth. Unusual. I'm a bit, alert, because bub is still very breech. I'm 36+6

greenerfingers · 19/10/2022 07:12

How exciting and also frustrating @Anna783426. How're you getting on? Can't believe some of the babies are about to make their entrances' 😁.

@ALittleBitofVitriol blood, mucus, and snot lol. Mind you I never lost my own. Only saw people posting pictures of theirs on threads.

Enjoy your last day before maternity @CurlyNo2

roobearbaby · 19/10/2022 07:24

How is everyone doing with sleeping at night?

I woke up last night with cramping so bad I was convinced I was in labour.

I'm fairly confident it was just muscle pain now as it was constant and not on and off...ouch

tb4122 · 19/10/2022 07:33

@roobearbaby, same here. Only 35 weeks so was fairly sure was just sore but had a moment at about 4am where I wasn't quite so convinced and wondered if something was going on...!

As per usual just got comfy-ish in time for the alarm to go off, three more days until maternity leave.

greenerfingers · 19/10/2022 08:02

Once asleep it's not an issue so much other than constant pee but getting to sleep is so difficult for me. On my sides and my ribs burn and on my back and I can't breathe and my back hurts. Once I'm asleep though it's usually ok to fall back asleep.

VolcanicProtectorMan · 19/10/2022 08:21

Sleep has been awful 😞 every time I turned over everything hurt and just could not get comfortable last night. I’m bigger than I was with my last baby and I’m starting to really worry he is going to be huge now! Last time I was having growth scans because of small bump but this time I’m not. I know they are notoriously inaccurate anyway but it was nice to have a ballpark!

arianasky · 19/10/2022 08:21

Just marking my place I am tagged on the due date list but some reason I never get notifications

Bubblegum20 · 19/10/2022 08:35

Think that was the worst night sleep I've had so far this pregnancy 🤦🏻‍♀️ constantly turning all night with hip pains, every time I woke up my brain seemed to go into overdrive and remind me of everything I still need to pack, clean, do etc before baby arrives which wasn't helpful in going back to sleep 😴 hopefully I manage to get a nap in today

Skyways · 19/10/2022 10:09

almost 36 weeks now.. eek… sorry i posted and disappeared. Had some bad days, pgp pain paired with lower back pain, acid reflux and nausea 😳
have been told to ‘rest’ happy with that as no school runs for me! Husband has been trying to feed me more often now he is home a lot more though.

I attempted a warm (bit over lukewarm) bath with epsom salts to get some pain relief the other day. Made sure had my phone with me in case needed help but definitely won’t be doing that again 😅

My first came at 39 weeks, had bloody show and waters broke. With second she came at 37 weeks no show or waters breaking just started contractions.
My brain is also in overdrive thinking what will happen this time, baby’s movements are more strong now and now when stretching i can feel a limb poking.

Best wishes to everyone 🌹

You have described my sleeping acrobatics! Then once i get comfy and try to sleep baby decides it’s exercise time.. it’s been 6 year since my last so I can’t remember if babies are this active when newborn too

Bramblecrumble22 · 19/10/2022 12:06

I never lost my mucous plug, or noticed it in my first birth. Tmi I've had more white discharge, and it does seem to come in one go, often when I need to poo. I've got no idea about whether baby is engaged at all. Last appointment, over a week ago which included a scan, sonographer didn't say/report on it, and obstetrician didn't offer to palpate.
I do feel much more bladder pressure since Monday evening after being on my ball. Sometimes I can sit on the sofa in the evening when we watch TV but when baby moves it's too uncomfortable down below and I have to kneel and lie on my ball. It seems worst in the evenings, then in the morning it's like babys happy to stay for a while yet.
Sleeps fine, I maybe get up once to wee, newborn routine is going to be a shock to my system.
I'm 37+3. I've got raspberry leaf tea, some dates. Trying to keep up with squats, as long as.i don't learn forwards, I can keep my balance picking things up from the floor.

CurlyNo2 · 19/10/2022 13:35

My mucus plug with my son was a big blob of bloody snot which I freaked out over but it doesn’t have to have blood in it. Can your midwife take a look to confirm?

The ‘show’ I had this week, was blood streaked snotty discharge, very mucus’y. It ranged in colour from
brown blood to pink, then bright red, then to orange and now it has settled on a pinky colour.

Beanniebaby22 · 19/10/2022 18:30

I lost a bit of mucus yesterday but wouldn’t say it was enough to be the full plug. Also had LOTS of white discharge for weeks now (TMI Sorry).

And yes I’m also finding sleeping difficult. Just cannot get comfortable at all. Fed up lying on my sides. Just want to lie on my back or my tummy but obviously can’t! I was a tummy sleeper before I got pregnant.

Baby feels really low in my pelvis. When I need to pee it sometimes feels like he’s about to fall out when I walk 😅

CurlyNo2 · 19/10/2022 18:39

@Beanniebaby22 Im also a tummy sleeper so having to sleep on my side is not at all natural to me and is causing me so many issues. Not long to go now though!

I feel like baby has dropped lower this past week (the lady is Sayers even told me so 🤣) the hospital said I was 3/5 engaged but I swear if I looked with a mirror I’d see baby poking out.

I have also been feeling really sore down below, like I’ve been wearing knickers that are too tight and my skin underneath/vagina feels sore and sensitive. I don’t know whether this is all linked to the UTI or it’s just the increase in hormones/pressure that’s aggravating the area or whether it’s linked to the PGP?

ALittleBitofVitriol · 19/10/2022 20:03

Thanks for the replies re mucous everyone 🤣🤣
After reflection and calling the midwife (in tears, I'm an actual mess, bloody hormones) I don't think it was the plug, but the painful cramp afterwards threw me a bit.
I was just having a mini freakout yesterday lol, this late pregnancy is doing my head in a bit.
37 weeks today!

TFMinx · 19/10/2022 20:08

I'm also 37 weeks today @ALittleBitofVitriol and feel like I've been kicked in the labia 😆 😩 discharge has increased slightly and I'm just hoping it's not thrush again. Not long now everyone!

Elle1709 · 19/10/2022 20:22

Will be 38 weeks on Friday, I haven't noticed any plug, just some lower back cramps. I also can't sleep very well. I always sleep on my back, so finding the side sleeping hard as its giving me a stiff shoulder and neck. Also hip pain through the night is very uncomfortable! I have noticed a lot more stretch marks suddenly pop up all around my belly button, I seem to be getting more each day. Anyone else?

CurlyNo2 · 19/10/2022 20:25

This!! This is what I feel, like someone has kicked me down below! I’m 35 weeks tomorrow so not as far on as you ladies.

I have a ton of stretch marks appear around my belly button, my skin is so stretched that my bump feels numb and sore of anything touches it.

greenerfingers · 19/10/2022 20:45

Had a lovely but such a long day today. By 6/7pm I'm absolutely shattered. I feel ancient 😅.

I suffer PGP and feel like I've been kicked in the vagina but it's more a pain in the pubic bone rather than the labia or any flesh pain.

I got a call for my procedure today anddd it's on the day I asked for it not to be 😅 (the day before my son's birthday party). No idea what to do now, either I cancel it or take the risk all will be ok after and continue as planned.

Beanniebaby22 · 19/10/2022 21:05

@Elle1709 exactly! My neck and shoulders are bothering me too. Can’t seem to get the right pillow height to make my neck more comfortable 😩
I’m finding sitting on the sofa quite uncomfortable now aswell. It’s too low down.

Dontbeaneejit · 19/10/2022 21:07

Feeling the same here. 38 weeks tomorrow and my skin is so stretched it hurts..I can't possibly get any bigger. Ready for this baby to be on the outside!

CurlyNo2 · 19/10/2022 21:08

I’ve just got the birthing ball out, i feel
instant relief in my lower back and hips. Have you ladies been using one?

ALittleBitofVitriol · 19/10/2022 21:15

I remember with my first baby, 17 years ago, I got 1 stretch mark the week she was due. Ah I was so young 😆
Now I can't even tell which are old and which are new, I'm pretty sure these ones above my belly button are new 😒 thanks to bub being breech!
