Just checking in 😊 1 week to go before 12 week scan!

ancienthouse · 03/10/2022 09:08

Checking in! My 12 week scan is tomorrow and I'm so anxious about it.

Does anyone know if the uterus keeps growing if it's a MMC? I can feel my uterus now peeking out above my pelvis.

MrsC2018 · 03/10/2022 09:11

13 weeks today and dating scan tomorrow. Terribly anxious, as it was in the weeks after my 12 week scan I lost my last baby. NIPT has come back low risk though and another little girl 💖 will try and engage more with this thread to think positive about this one! Sickness has lifted by I'm still so very tired, getting up twice a night for the toilet probably doesn't help though! How's everyone else doing?

MrsC2018 · 03/10/2022 09:13

@ancienthouse mine didn't, I realised after I was told baby had died that my bump hadn't got any bigger since 12/13 weeks

Chocolat · 03/10/2022 09:17

Checking in, 14 weeks today 😀

Skylark1990 · 03/10/2022 09:18

@ancienthouse I was wondering this too as my bump has definitely been getting steadily bigger. Best of luck for your scan tomorrow! I am sure it'll be great 😊❤️

@MrsC2018 totally understandable it's an anxious time for you! Keep thinking positive when you can, hopefully the scan gives you some reassurance tomorrow ❤️

I've got my scan on Thurs. Also excited / nervous! 13 weeks today 🙌

Me too @PuddingBear ! 😬

Skylark1990 · 03/10/2022 09:21

Also. Would those of us on here be keen for a WhatsApp group? Might be nice as we get closer to due date etc to be able to share pics / get to know eachother better. I am happy to set one up if people are keen. I know some of us use the FB group but some don't - I'm a member but haven't posted yet as I don't use FB much at all. It also seems the group that uses Mumsnet more is a bit smaller so might be ok for a WhatsApp group? X

Thanks for the new thread @Skylark1990

@MrsC2018 sorry to hear about your previous loss. The anxiety is completely understandable I hope your scan goes OK.

My scan is on Thursday too but my appointment says with a consultant I'm not sure if I've got my scan and then see the consultant or if this is just a consultant appointment. I need to ring them really.

DBS94 · 03/10/2022 09:47

Thanks for the new thread @Skylark1990

12 week scan tomorrow and I'm just soooo excited but also full of nerves! I'm definitely not going to sleep tonight 😂✨

MrsC2018 · 03/10/2022 09:54

Lots of scans this week! Love looking at the photos, it's such a special time when you can relax into it. Anyone else finding out the gender? I love the idea of waiting and having a wonderful surprise but the reality is that I'm just so impatient I just have to know 😂

Cuppasoupmonster · 03/10/2022 09:56

Checking in! 13 weeks today, got my first trimester scan tomorrow 😬 🤞🏻

What time is yours @DBS94 ?

Mine’s at 10am so luckily I don’t need to wait nervously all day!

limoncelloo · 03/10/2022 09:59

Morning everyone! I hope your pregnancies are all going well- I haven't been on these threads for ages!

Still signed off work with HG and suffering badly.

I had my 12 week scan a few weeks ago and my due date has been moved to the end of March...

And this morning I'm going to find out the sex of baby 💗💙 so excited

LauraA31 · 03/10/2022 10:11

Checking in!

Im so excited for everybody having their scans this week, mine is Thursday at 9am but i will only be 11+2, NHS didn’t mind and told me to keep the scan and if they need to bring me back they will do.
I had a private scan at 9+2 because of bleeding and cannot wait to see how much baby has developed (fingers crossed!)
So glad that they booked us in at 9am because the wait through the day would be too much!

@limoncelloo how exciting you find out this morning! I can’t wait to be able to find out what we are having!

@MrsC2018 we are finding out at 16 weeks, we had a scan booked privately but because of bleeds we had scans with EPU- the company saved our deposit for private so we are going back at 16+3 to see what we are having…. It’s killing me waiting so long, id not be able to wait until baby was born haha!

@Skylark1990 thank you for the new thread!

MrsC2018 · 03/10/2022 10:44

@limoncelloo oooh exciting! What do you have already and do you have an idea on what this one is?

Springblooms08 · 03/10/2022 10:44

@LauraA31 I measured as 11+2 at my scan so it was just a super short (but lovely!) one and I'll be rebooked for the combined screening x

DBS94 · 03/10/2022 10:48

@Cuppasoupmonster mine is nice and early tomorrow 8:30am!!

I've just eaten an Aldi pepperami without realising I probably shouldn't be eating it, I've been really sick this morning and it's the only thing in the fridge that I could stomach!! Should I be worried?

DBS94 · 03/10/2022 10:48

@limoncelloo yaaaay!! That's so exciting 💕💙

Springblooms08 · 03/10/2022 10:49

Does anybody know how quickly you get the results from the combined screening back? And do you get them by postal letter?

PuddingBear · 03/10/2022 10:51

We found out with our first that she was a girl. I would like another gender reveal as I’m so curious and like to plan but on the other hand we’re stopping at two so unsure if I want a surprise as won’t get the chance again…

Plus there’s less pressure now I already have a girl. So I’m unsure. DH wants to find out 😅

I think it really depends on the hospital.
My last one, they said they'd ring me the same day if it was anything concerning, otherwise I'd get the results in the post within a week. I got them about 4 days after the scan.

I know other people who've had to wait a couple of weeks!

I'm at a different hospital this time so not sure how they do it.

SavedByGraceAlone · 03/10/2022 11:02

Thanks for the new thread @Skylark1990!

I've also got my 12-week scan this week, eeeeeek. It's on Thursday, which still feels like forever away. I remember someone else on here also has their scan on Thursday. We're both terrified and excited for ours. Not been 'feeling' much of the pregnancy lately, so been worried about the little one...

Also dor those who, like me, are on daily blood thinner injections - how is it going for you? My stomach is a war zone, bruised all over and am still dreading having to inject myself every morning. Although I've started a new lower dose this morning with a smaller syringe, which was much simpler! Anyway, curious how others been getting on with theirs.

ancienthouse · 03/10/2022 11:02

@MrsC2018 I think I'm going to find out the sex. I didn't with my first and it was so lovely, the surprise was great. And it meant there were no gender stereotypes assumed before she was even born. But this time I'd like to know to make picking a name slightly easier and also to help explain to DD that she will have a brother/sister.

I had no preference then and I don't this time either really. I hate gender stereotypes and actively avoid them. So it's purely practical reasons to find out rather than excitement over boy/girl.

limoncelloo · 03/10/2022 11:16

@MrsC2018 I already have 2 boys and a girl, so I really have no preference!

I paid for the nub techs to look at my 12 week scan just for fun and they said 85% chance of a girl so we will see x

Springblooms08 · 03/10/2022 11:23

Thanks @ancienthouse :)
