13 weeks today and dating scan tomorrow. Terribly anxious, as it was in the weeks after my 12 week scan I lost my last baby. NIPT has come back low risk though and another little girl 💖 will try and engage more with this thread to think positive about this one! Sickness has lifted by I'm still so very tired, getting up twice a night for the toilet probably doesn't help though! How's everyone else doing?

Oh How did you find out gender at 13weeks? Want to know but thought earliest was 16 weeks private scan?

Kentgirl2525 · 03/10/2022 15:03

Can I ask how do I find out gender early as do many seem to here? I’m 12 weeks on Thursday and thought had to wait until 16 for private scan?

Tubbytele · 03/10/2022 15:32

Thanks for the new thread @Skylark1990 haven't read fully yet so will catch up now

limoncelloo · 03/10/2022 15:45

Thanks everyone 💗

@SavedByGraceAlone @alwaysseeingstars I'm also on clexane injections and have been since 12 weeks and will be until 6 weeks after birth... I hate needles absolute nightmare. My stomach is covered in bruises already 😢

limoncelloo · 03/10/2022 15:46

@AliceinSlumberland I'm consultant led and have been for all my pregnancies- a 16 week appointment is standard however I had mine at 14 weeks this time. You should definitely have one around that time though so keep chasing x

limoncelloo · 03/10/2022 15:48

@Kentgirl2525 some private places do gender scans from 14 weeks. I'm 14+5 and found out today. My due date got moved from April to end of March at my 12 week scan but I've decided to stay in here :)

@limoncelloo, am also on Clexane! What is your dosage? I was on 40mg daily but just gone down to 20mg.

Cuppasoupmonster · 03/10/2022 15:50

@limoncelloo how are you getting on with your HG can I ask? I’m 13 weeks and the sickness is getting less frequent since going on promethazine but omg do I feel rough - like a low level flu and all the time. Is this normal?!

Re the injections, I have daily injections even when not pregnant, you do get used to them
and the skin will toughen up in a few weeks ❤️ they’re horrible though.

Hannah223344 · 03/10/2022 16:18

AliceinSlumberland · 03/10/2022 14:53

Oooo @Hannah223344 mines next Monday too!

Just a few more days to go! 😅 hope it goes well x

MrsC2018 · 03/10/2022 16:29

@Kentgirl2525 just with NIPT, it's not cheap at £400 but they check babys chromosomes for the trisomy's and whilst they're there they can see whether it's XX, or XY for girl or boy. You can have that from 10 weeks

MrsC2018 · 03/10/2022 16:32

@limoncelloo how lovely, I had boy, girl, boy and then this one a girl so ridiculously pleased it's all nice and even! Obviously would be happy with either though, just makes it easier to plan and pick names if you know what you're having!

Skylark1990 · 03/10/2022 17:38

Congrats on your little girl @limoncelloo ! So exciting. What a lovely balance you'll have. And four kids! Amazing. Have always loved the idea of a bigger crew but don't think I could do pregnancy that many times 😂😅

Sorry to hear how hard the injections are for people doing them. There's a chance I'll need heparin from 28 weeks but just had another chat to someone at the clinic and they said actually it's unlikely I will need to. I will discuss with the consultant when I have my appt, no idea when it will be. But I am hoping I can avoid! Doesn't sound fun. You guys are troopers.

Maybe we can look at settling up a WhatsApp after the 20 week scans/ towards beginning of third tri? I just thought it might be easier to keep track and I'd rather share baby pics privately when they start arriving 😊

@Skylark1990 a WhatsApp group nearer the time sounds great. I never did NCT or anything with my first so I've never had that community of people with similar aged babies before.

Hope everyone's scans go well tomorrow. Mine is in the morning so I won't have to wait all day which is just as well because I just nearly burst into tears thinking about it! The anxiety is awful.

MrsC2018 · 03/10/2022 18:32

@ancienthouse mine too, we've got this. Mines in the afternoon though, just going to keep busy and try not to build it up too much

J1290 · 03/10/2022 18:37

Dint realise we had so many april groups! Im in the facebook one. Have my 12 week scan wednesday(will be 13+1) which is why i paid for one last week. Had spotting and culdnt wait 10 days to makesure baby was ok. Nhs seem to be later and later.

Hi guys, I've been lurking and seeing everyone's lovely scans and the news about boys/girls, which has been cheering me up a little. Since I got to about 9 weeks, I've been suffering a lot and it doesn't seem to be shifting. Combine that with the week long residential trip I went on with half my class last week and it's been a really rough time. I'm hoping things start to get better soon - 12 week scan on Friday at 12w6d 😁

@alwaysseeingstars indigestion has been one of my main issues. For me, there's an element of heartburn but mostly feeling incredibly bloated and full along with burping 24/7, regardless of whether I've eaten or not. My midwife said Rennies or Gaviscon are completely safe during pregnancy so to start there. I did, and it caused me to start throwing up in the evening, so I spoke to the GP and was put on omeprazole instead. That helped for almost a week and then stopped, which lead me to having a day off today from feeling so hideous. Am going back to the GP to find something else to sort it!

ancienthouse · 03/10/2022 19:24

@simplythequest hearburn is the worst. I have GORD so I'm used to battling acid reflux, I can usually manage it with diet and with keeping weight off my stomach. But obviously in pregnancy it gets a lot worse as everything relaxes and then gets squashed! I woke up choking on acid a few times in my last pregnancy.
I have to rely on Rennies at the minute because Gaviscon makes me sick. I can't have omeporazole or related things. Last time I had zantac/ranitidine but that's been recalled now because of a cancer risk or something. I'm not sure what I'm going to do once I have a bump squashing me!! Rennies won't touch it.

I hope you find something that works!

simplythequest · 03/10/2022 19:30

@ancienthouse thanks - I know exactly what you mean about gaviscon, I wanted to retch just swallowing it! Tried rennies instead but I think they just compounded the problem as there was nothing wrong with taking them.

When I first spoke to the GP about the indigestion, she said how women with indigestion/reflux in pregnancies often have babies with lots of hair. Felt like saying that I'll be birthing a blooming werewolf at this rate. Surely this can't go on throughout the whole pregnancy? I can understand it towards the end, but I'm miserable with it right now 😔

Marshmallowmountain · 03/10/2022 19:40

Hi just checking in! Lovely seeing all the 12 week scans come through. Mines not for another 10 days, very excited/nervous!

limoncelloo · 03/10/2022 20:17

@SavedByGraceAlone I'm on 40mg

@Cuppasoupmonster my HG is definitely better controlled but I still vomit although not as much. I had a week of feeling pretty good at week 13 but now back to feeling crap again. Low level flu/hangover describes it well. I've only had one hospitalisation so far things pregnancy touch wood.

I'm on Cyclizine which has worked the best for me, had prochlorperazine but did nothing. The Cyclizine makes me extremely tired and I notice if I'm late for a dose. I feel like I could predict my vomiting better when I was off medication as it seemed to have a pattern- now when I vomit it comes completely out of the blue which is harder in ways!

I usually have my maximum three tablets throughout the day and some nights the sickness can really hit me and I can spend an entire night up retching or vomiting.

I really hope you start to improve soon and fingers crossed for everyone in here suffering.

xalexandra · 03/10/2022 21:16

My 12 week scan is Friday when I'm funnily enough exactly 12 weeks. Hopefully everything ok after a previous MC 🙏🏼

My sickness has been so bad I haven't been to work in 2 weeks and have been bed bound. I'm really concerned about how little fluid I'm drinking as well as I find it really hard!

Missgemini · 03/10/2022 23:36

Just checking in ladies. I’ve not been feeling too great lately. Looking forward to when the first trimester ends.
Hope you ladies are doing well. All the best for the upcoming scans x

DBS94 · 04/10/2022 06:15

12 week scan today and I've been up since the crack of dawn feeling so nervous/anxious for it!! I found my midwife to be quite blunt and rude at my booking appointment so I'm feeling a bit nervous for that too. Any time I asked a question (1st pregnancy) she was very blunt and gave minimal info. But "PMA" as my husband keeps saying to me 😂 hope you're all well xx

For those of you who have now had your dating scan, have you told most people you're pregnant now? X

Pommy1 · 04/10/2022 06:52

Kentgirl2525 · 03/10/2022 14:57

Oh How did you find out gender at 13weeks? Want to know but thought earliest was 16 weeks private scan?

I had my NIPT last week and being an over 35 I didn't want to wait for the NHS. I get the results next week along with gender.

Keeping up with the thread is hard, it's super busy isn't it but I truly love hearing how you are all doing.

I'm still up for the loo, have very vivid dreams which are hilarious the next day, but I've had no sickness so far. Everyone says that's a boy as girls are more trouble haha
