New thread - because I'm badly procrastinating with actual work today 😆

Thanks for the new thread!

squatternutbosh12 · 31/03/2022 13:36

Thanks @Beth262!

@CoalCraft So pleased your scan went well and congratulations on your baby girl 😍

And thanks everyone re my scan! I’m joining in coalcraft’s ear-to-ear grinning! X

CoalCraft · 31/03/2022 14:21

@squatternutbosh12 Ah, I missed your post earlier! So glad everything went well for you too xx

Cakecakecheese · 31/03/2022 15:57

Ooh another thread, it's starting to feel like we're veterans on here now Grin

Beth262 · 31/03/2022 16:38

Glad all went well at the scan @CoalCraft and congratulations on another girl!

@Isonthecase I can imagine the comments will be more frequent for you this time, what with having 2 boys already. Why does everyone feel they have to have such an opinion! But also be so vocal about it! Grrr!

OP posts:
Isonthecase · 31/03/2022 18:10

How exciting on all the scans!

@Beth262 Can't complain too much, think I've done the same in the past! Seems to be one of those opinions lots of people hold because they've been told it so many times but when you engage your brain it's rooted in misogyny.

madeleine85 · 31/03/2022 19:54

@CoalCraft congrats on the baby girl!!

I had a 18 week doppler check today, all was good. I was talking to my doctor as I have been given progesterone for pre term labour due to my last one. It is making me feel utterly like crap. I've taken it 2 days now and it's started a yeast infection, really affected my mood negatively, is causing cramping and just is something i'd rather not take. I tend to react pretty badly to hormones in general. My DD came early last time due to a mix of dehydration, under eating and over exercising, I was suffering from an eating disorder but I have sought treatment and I am now in a healthy place. The progesterone effect is really making me feel down though, and in a dark place. My doctor originally said I should stop taking it, then reversed and said because they don't know with 100% certainty that the ED caused the premature birth, they recommend I should still take it, but it was my decision if I stopped and that it most likely would be fine, but that I might want to talk to another consultant to see. I'm back for cervical measurements in 2 weeks so thinking of discontinuing it for 2 weeks and talking to the consultant then. Not sure if this is a bad idea, but if anyone has any experiences with progesterone, i'm all ears. Thanks ladies.

Tacoboutit · 31/03/2022 20:11

Hi everyone, I’m tentatively dipping my toe into this thread. I’m currently 22 weeks with my rainbow baby, due at beginning of August. I’ve caught up on the threads and just wanted to introduce myself. Like a few ladies here, I’ve been nervous to get too excited after a loss last year. But keen to get involved and ask all the questions! Smile

squatternutbosh12 · 31/03/2022 21:12

@madeleine85 no advice I’m afraid as not something I’ve had to contend with but just sympathy for a tricky decision- you know your body though, and it sounds like your consultant will support you either way. No harm talking to a second one though for another opinion. Are there perhaps other brands/preparations of progesterone that might suit you better? I know with some medicines it can make a difference to tolerability - no idea if it could here, just a musing. x

@Tacoboutit no need for tentativeness - welcome! Smile Hope you’re having a good pregnancy so far, apart from the understandable nerves :)

madeleine85 · 31/03/2022 21:49

@squatternutbosh12 my doctor today said that there used to be a progesterone injection that they could use, but it's been pulled from the market. Hoping that the consultant in 2 weeks knows of an alternative tbh. I don't think that 2 weeks of a break from it will harm this early, as my cervix is measuring long enough and they aren't concerned. Obviously if it were to shorten, I would just suck it up and take the pills every day, but hoping to find an alternative/just be healthy this pregnancy!

SantiagoSister · 31/03/2022 22:09

Thank you for the new thread @Beth262 😁

Welcome @Tacoboutit! It’s a lovely group. I’m 22 weeks today too 😊

ToCaden · 31/03/2022 22:17

@madeleine85 I used progesterone cream for a while in first trimester. I did IVF and only had enough progesterone suppositories to last until bfp which I was worried about, so did the cream for a bit longer and also to make it easier to gradually drop the dose when it came time to stop.

Tacoboutit · 31/03/2022 22:19

Thanks @squatternutbosh12 - I’m actually having a great pregnancy so far and can’t complain. Other than sickness weeks 6-10 I haven’t had many symptoms since and I can feel baby moving around which is reassuring. But yes the nerves will always be there until baby is safe in my arms (and I’m sure they won’t go away even then)!

Thanks @SantiagoSister - I noticed your messages and felt like I could relate to you entirely. Noway, I’m also 22 weeks today Smile we must be due-date twins. Since my 20-week scan these last few weeks have flown by.

SantiagoSister · 31/03/2022 22:27

Aw that’s great @Tacoboutit, we must be due-date twins as you say! I’m the 4th August 🥰 It’s really nice when you find others you can relate to on the same journey. Nice to meet you! It’s great to hear you’re having a smooth pregnancy so far. And I can definitely understand the nerves! I agree, it does seem like the last couple of weeks has gone quickly. I have another scan in 2 weeks and hoping time can continue to go quickly to get there, plus it’s nice knowing that in 2 weeks our babies will reach viability, another target to aim towards 🤞🏼❤️

Tacoboutit · 31/03/2022 22:43

Yep I’m 4th August too! Glad yours is going quickly and another scan soon, that’s always good and reassuring. Yes viability week will be a big one! Looking forward to the milestones going forward and fingers crossed for healthy pregnancies for us all x

madeleine85 · 31/03/2022 22:53

@ToCaden that is very useful to know! Thank you!

beckybloomwood11 · 01/04/2022 08:48

Thanks for the new thread @Beth262 and welcome @Tacoboutit . It's great to see the news of everyone's scans!

I think I've started feeling the baby move - kind of like a swirling sensation low in my belly at night when I'm sitting on the sofa. I've felt a "bubble" sensation once, but mostly it's like swirling. Not sure as it's my first, but hoping this is the start of feeling some movements!

SantiagoSister · 01/04/2022 09:53

That’s great you’re starting to feel some movement @beckybloomwood11, I honestly think it’s one of the loveliest things to feel 🥰 one thing I learnt with my first was that his first movements didn’t feel like anything I’d read online, I never got the popping or butterfly sensations I’d read about, so I think you describing it as swirling is very likely to be their first little movements! I always think if it’s something I’ve never felt before when not pregnant, then it must be baby 😍

squatternutbosh12 · 01/04/2022 10:09

@beckybloomwood11 that sounds EXACTLY like what I felt shortly before actual kicks started! So I think it’s definitely on the horizon for you!

beckybloomwood11 · 01/04/2022 10:24

Thanks @squatternutbosh12 and @SantiagoSister that's really reassuring! I wasn't sure as it's not really like what I thought it would be from reading online, but it's such a lovely feeling thinking that's the baby moving around in there!

Shelly1812 · 01/04/2022 10:31

I can't be bothered today 😂😂, I'm working when I don't usually work a Friday! It's pants!!

What's everyone been upto? X

Tacoboutit · 01/04/2022 10:31

Thanks @beckybloomwood11 - sounds like you’re definitely feeling baby move. Enjoy the feeling Smile

Mirabella3 · 01/04/2022 11:47

Hi all,

I’ve been following this thread since December and finally have the courage to join and celebrate this journey with you all! I’m pregnant with an IVF baby after 10 years ttc. My due date according to my IVF clinic is 24th August which makes me 19+2, however at my 12wk and 20wk scan baby measured 4 days ahead which makes me 19+6 with a due date of 20th August! Midwife is saying stick to the IVF date, consultant says stick to the 20th August 😆 I know the dates won’t really matter in the end! I’m just so happy to be pregnant! I also think I may be starting to feel baby move, could just be gas though! 😂

Isonthecase · 01/04/2022 12:18

So lovely to have some new joiners, welcome!

makingabebe · 01/04/2022 12:55

Hello all, I am also making my first post here, I'll be 22 weeks on Tuesday. I've basically been more terrified than excited and got kind of 'stuck' mentally - after two years TTC I think part of my brain still doesn't really believe I'm pregnant! And so I've been iffy about posting. But 20-week scan was all good though and has helped make it more real. I've been reading since January and it's nice to see a supportive thread (or three).

I am a bit upset today because i very unwittingly and unknowingly drank two TRIP drinks last night, which contain CBD. It was one of the two non-alcoholic options at a party and I only found out after I'd left, there was no explanation/signage and they were cans that had been decanted into glasses. Spoken to midwife friend and DH's doctor cousin who say I should try not to worry as the amount consumed (0.03 grams) is very small and a one-off like this is unlikely to cause any harm. Still upset with myself though as I can't un-drink it.
