Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

Hello @BecLJ congratulations on your pregnancy 😁

I hope you don't mind me joining I'm due 30th September but the lovely September ladies seem so far ahead. I'm 4 weeks 5 days.

I'm still a bit in shock unplanned but very much wanted baby. I'm 27 and have a 10 month old DD. How are you feeling?

BecLJ · 25/01/2022 15:39

Hi @BuchananBabies congratulations to you too!

Yes of course Smile

Going by my dates I'm due 3 Oct, but not 100% sure when ovulation was so I might be due a little later. October either way!

I'm feeling ok at the moment, just a bit nauseous and sore breasts - but at this stage that's comforting! Very excited though (and nervous)

I remember being very nervous the whole pregnancy with my DD so expecting the same Grin

It's so exciting isn't it! I don't remember being nervous with my daughter but I've been so nervous since I've found out with this one. Don't think it helped I found out I was pregnant a few days before I went back to work from Mat leave 🙈.

I felt so nauseous when I first found out but it comes and goes. I've been getting the worst night sweats and hot flushes especially in shops and I don't think the masks help (I'm in Scotland).

5manc · 25/01/2022 17:37

Hiya 👋 Congratulations to you both! I got my bfp on Friday and keep testing every other day with different tests to make sure! First digital one this morning so it feels real now when you read the word.

I'm 29 and this will be my first, we were extremely lucky as this was only cycle 2 😍 think I'm due around 4 October!

Glad this group has been made as literally don't know who to speak to about it! I'm feeling ok, getting quite a lot of crampy feelings. Just hope that's not bad! Have you booked your first appointment? Mine is Thursday which feels quite early! X

Field22 · 25/01/2022 18:00

Hi all, just got my BFP this evening! Due on my DDs 3rd birthday... how strange. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone. How exciting!

Field22 · 25/01/2022 18:03

Oh and of course... congratulations all 💕

OmgIThinkILikeYou · 25/01/2022 18:26

Hi All congratulations!! I just found out this evening! Due really early October. I am 32 with a 21 month old son. Ahhh so exciting!

BecLJ · 25/01/2022 18:26

@BuchananBabies oh gosh that is a lot to deal with going back to work and early pregnancy! How are you finding being back at work?

Congrats @5manc! I definitely found a chat like this useful last pregnancy. Oh I definitely still have cramps, sure I did with DD too so fairly sure it is normal.

Congrats @Field22! I'm due a week after my daughter's second birthday! I suppose could be joint parties until they don't want to share!

Fingers crossed for us all x

Hey all! I’m 29 and this is my first pregnancy after being told we couldn’t have a baby naturally and would have to have IVF we’ve just found out we’re expecting late September…naturally!!

TigerTinsel · 25/01/2022 18:34

Hi all 👋 congratulations on your BFPs!

I think I'm due 6th October and found out last week we are expecting our first. I had been having a lot of cramps since getting my BFP but today just the odd twinge.

@5manc yes that is quick. Hopefully you will get lots of useful information though. I've booked my first appointment too in case there was a pandemic effect on bookings and it's in mid Feb.

BuchananBabies · 25/01/2022 18:46

@BecLJ I know it's been exhausting but luckily I'm still working from home so I had an hour nap on my lunch 😁.

Congratulations everyone so lovely to hear lots of us getting out BFP's and we can get all excited together!

@5manc well done getting an appointment. I phoned the midwife and they wouldn't entertain me until I'm 6 weeks.

I've spent the evening clearing out my DD's old clothes and I've held on to everything 'just incase'😂

@FirstTimeBabyMum that is so amazing congratulations ❤

5manc · 25/01/2022 19:17

Congratulations everyone! 😘

@FirstTimeBabyMum that's amazing news!

@TigerTinsel @BuchananBabies I'm thinking mine is too early. The Drs didn't even ask how many weeks so I'm wondering if I'll turn up and midwife will just turn me away! Not sure if I should move it back a few weeks?

HMFx · 25/01/2022 19:21

Hi! Can I join? Got my BFP last Wednesday due around 1st October and currently around 4 weeks All my apps say different! Congrats to you all and hope you're all feeling well xx

HMFx · 25/01/2022 19:22

Should say this it #1 for us and our first cycle trying (v lucky 🤞🏼)

HMFx · 25/01/2022 19:23

Also have you guys rang your doctor first and they refer you or do you refer to the hospital of choice? Confused and waiting a week or two until I do it. Xx

BecLJ · 25/01/2022 19:34

That's amazing @FirstTimeBabyMum! Congrats!

@HMFxWhere I am we make a self referral online but I think it can be different depending where you live. Doctor would probably be a good place to start if you don't know what it's meant to be your area. And congratulations!

5manc · 25/01/2022 19:36

@HMFx Congratulations! I just phoned the Drs and they gave me the first available appointment although as I said no idea if that's too early.

BecLJ · 25/01/2022 19:36

@5manc the only advice I've found on NHS website is that the first appointment should be before 10 weeks, it doesn't say when is too early. I can't remember when my first was last time- maybe 9 weeks or so?

BuchananBabies · 25/01/2022 19:51

@HMFx Congratulations ❤ I think it's different everywhere. With my first I phoned the GP and they gave me the number for the community midwife in my area then at booking (about 8/9 weeks) they asked where I wanted to give birth which is a actually a different NHS Trust and there was no issues because everything is online now.

@5manc it won't matter anyway they just ask a load of questions at your booking in appointment or they may need to refer you to the midwife from there. Let us know how you get on 😁

TigerTinsel · 25/01/2022 19:52

@5manc I'm not sure what is discussed at the first appointment to know if early/later is best. I'm to expect a letter over the next fortnight for it. I think if I were you I'd call tomorrow to put my mind at ease, you might just live in an area without a waiting list though 👍

@HMFx I also rang my doctor and the receptionist gave me the phone number for the local midwife team to make an appt directly with them.

FirstTimeBabyMum · 25/01/2022 19:55

@HMFx
I went online 2 week ago and referred myself and my first appointment is one the 1st feb x

HMFx · 25/01/2022 20:26

Thanks everyone I will ring my drs first and get some advice. As it's my first I feel so on edge as if I should wait a few weeks just in case. Did anyone else feel/ does feel like this? I've not had many symptoms at all but I think that's because it's early days? It's lovely to talk to you all as I've not told anyone other than husband. X

BuchananBabies · 25/01/2022 20:39

@HMFx I totally understand that with this pregnancy I've been really nervous but when I was pregnant with DD I was very much in the mindset that I was pregnant and I was going to enjoy it no matter what happened. Not sure what's changed this pregnancy.

I think symptoms aren't really supposed to kick in until 6+ weeks. Right now I'm eating everything in sight fully anticipating I'll be throwing up in a few weeks 😂

It is so good to talk to people who understand and we're all in it together

BecLJ · 25/01/2022 20:40

@HMFx I definitely recognise that feeling, I feel like that now and this is my second.

I've only told my husband but planning to tell my mum soonish, mostly because I see her quite often as she looks after my DD once a week and I think she'd realise something was going on! Plus some support I think

5manc · 25/01/2022 21:05

Thank you, I'll just turn up and see what they say! I know nothing at the moment so will be good to ask questions this early 😊 and if I need to go back in a few more weeks fine by me.

To those that already have children, did you get an early private scan before? And is anyone planning to this time? It's my 30th when I'm meant to be about 10 weeks so I'm thinking about getting a scan a few days before so we can tell family then! They'll know straight away when I'm not drinking anyway... haha

Also feel like I'm planning too much in advance and probably need to calm down for a few weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️ but hard to not be excited!
