Thanks for making a new thread @madeleine85

Also thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions to help with my cramps on the previous thread! Flowers I am going to take your advice on board - water, movement, paracetamol and bananas! I definitely find they are worse when I’m sitting still but I’m also too tired to move around much after a day on my feet in work at the moment! At least the cramps don’t seem to visit as much when I’m at work though because I don’t think I’d be able to hide my discomfort…

This is really embarrassing but I’m actually starting to wonder if my ‘cramps’ are trapped wind! I can not think of a time when I’ve ever experienced trapped wind personally, so it is very likely it could be and I just didn’t realise. I have realised that going to the toilet also helps my pain so I guess it is a possibility Blush

Hey all 👋🏻

Glastomummy · 13/01/2022 22:03

Hello all!! I just found out I am expecting 23/09/2022 - eeeeek!!! Is it normal to have pains and cramps and be tired at only 4 weeks?! I had a MC about 6 months ago so a bit nervous/anxious. Congrats to you all xxx

TooManyCostas · 13/01/2022 22:10

I just feel really off. I've been insanely tired for a few weeks but have recently recovered from Covid so just assumed long Covid. I feel so different to my previous pregnancies but my youngest is 7 so a long time ago. Also anyone else's hormones raging. I cried tonight that my OH had used my expensive shampoo 🙈

madeleine85 · 13/01/2022 22:12

@BlueSky57 so on Saturday I had horrendous cramps all day... on Sunday tmi but I was a little gassy/wen't #2 and they went away. I have more than a sneaking suspicion that it was gas/stomach issues, and I am not a gassy person! Water/movement/bananas will help either way though lol.

@Glastomummy congratulations!! It is very normal to have cramps at 4 weeks/early in general. I cramped horribly right when I got my BFP, then later for 2 days on my period due date. After that nothing until week 6. Everyone is different, but cramping and light spotting are all very normal in early pregnancy. good luck!!!

Hi @Glastomummy, welcome!

Just to reassure you that your symptoms are completely normal. These early days are such a minefield.

I currently hate all food but I am starving hungry.

And the exhaustion! I had two naps today!

madeleine85 · 13/01/2022 22:15

@TooManyCostas I am an emotional mess, and I am, not usually at all. I cry at buzzfeed posts, I cried at the first Harry Potter chapter the other day, and I was near hysterical watching the new Disney Encanto. How dare they cast out poor Bruno for being able to see the future lol. Glad I am not alone, my husband thinks I am a bit of a nutjob right now :)

Hi all, congratulations on the new bfps :)

@Glastomummy I'm also due on sept 9th!

I will be at 6 weeks tomo, v excited about that as I've read your chances of miscarriage drop to 10% in the sixth week 🙏🙏

Ditto to everyone experiencing cramps, same here!! Mine aren't bad but feel like early period cramps. I also had laods of nausea last weekend which has now completely disappeared, which was also freaking me out (but test line still strong). I mean WHAT a minefield this all is 😅😅

Women who have already had babies - at what point in your pregnancy did you stop worrying obsessively about miscarriage?! This can't go on haha

TooManyCostas · 13/01/2022 22:21

@madeleine85 I'm glad it's not just me. Everything feels so strange and new this time. On top of that I'm nhs frontline staff and feel super scared about work. I just want to get this first bit over before I tell anyone but also feel like work should be aware because at present I am expected to go into homes that have Covid. Confused

madeleine85 · 13/01/2022 22:23

@Tor88 the coming and going of symptoms is so strange. Every time I think they go and I have had a MC then they come back stronger the next day. With my first I thought I would be ok to relax at 12 weeks, then I read about people having misscarriages at 18 (I think it was a celebrity at the time). Ultimately 25 weeks was when I really relaxed as that is when they can usually breathe when born. I read yesteday that the misscarriage risk really drops when you have the 6-8 week scan and hear the heartbeat (to lower than 10%) and then at 12 weeks to lower than 1%, and honestly that was a huge relief.

Hi 🌈

Glastomummy · 13/01/2022 22:28

Ahh that's so reassuring ladies, thank you so much! I just can't believe you get symptoms like this so early on!! Like I've only just missed my period 😂 I wasn't sure if the pain and cramps were because it went wrong this time. I will try and chill out a bit!! Also really useful to know that symptoms can vanish and that's ok! That would have definitely freaked me out!! So expect sickness in about 2 weeks? X

Tor88 · 13/01/2022 22:32

@madeleine85 thank you

GivenchyDahhling · 13/01/2022 22:38

Thanks for the new thread; just adding my shameless placemark. Hope you are all doing well September mummies xx

Flibbyjibby · 13/01/2022 22:40

Anybody else nauseated by the smell of the fridge? It’s clean and everything is in date but I have to hold my breath when I open it now!

Last pregnancy I couldn’t go into the kitchen without holding my breath because even the faintest whiff of cooking set off my sickness. I hope it’s not that bad this time!!

GivenchyDahhling · 13/01/2022 22:40

@Tor88 With DS1 I definitely relaxed after the 12 week scan, but I really stopped worrying at all (although I know horrible things happen still) once I could feel kicking which I think was just after 20 weeks. That was so so reassuring for me.

GivenchyDahhling · 13/01/2022 22:42

@Flibbyjibby My favourite White Company Winter candle made me gag today 😭 I lit it, left the room and when I came back couldn’t stand it. Have been avoiding the living room all afternoon.

Agree with fridge yes, and meat slow cooking. Currently downing smoothies like there’s no tomorrow (also a craving I had with DS1).

TotoAnnihiliation · 13/01/2022 22:44

I agree with the fridge, I know it's clean and everything is in date but it smells like the back of a garbage truck.

PumpkinsMum18 · 13/01/2022 22:49

Hello again new friends 😊

PumpkinsMum18 · 13/01/2022 22:51

Oh god the fridge smell!!! Bleh!!
We have some Stilton cheese left over from new year and I was looking forward to having some this week and then I remembered it’s not allowed!! Need to have a clear out!

Morematchaplease · 14/01/2022 05:43

Same date as me! I have been napping lots when I get in from work and having pains and cramps - I worry when they are there and worry when they are not Wink
annlee3817 · 14/01/2022 05:53

Congrats @Glastomummy

I'm ok with smells, it's when I think about certain foods, I then feel like I want to be sick, weird.

@bluesky57 trapped wind is quite painful, so definitely could be that, I've been getting up an walking around to ease it, also Rennie's deflatine help, and peppermint tea (although I can't stomach it) also certain foods make it worse, onions, beans, brocolli, lentils etc

@Tor88 felt more at ease after the 12 week scan, but then you're in limbo a bit with just one midwife appt in between that and the anomaly scan, I think really once I knew all was ok at the 20 week one that's when I was more relaxed

Theneverendingcleaningcycle · 14/01/2022 06:17

Hi everyone! Can I join I got my positive yesterday. Though I still don't believe it.
I have have had cramps which I'm a bit worried about and my boobs have been so sore.
I did another pregnancy test this morning and another positive but I want to get a digital to see it spelled out in words😂

calipoppy · 14/01/2022 07:35

Congratulations @Glastomummy and @Theneverendingcleaningcycle !

Well after feeling smug last night at my lack of nausea, every single thing is making me want to throw up this morning!! I've just taken my pregnancy vitamins which have b6 in and I've read that helps so I'm praying that works! I don't know how I'm going to manage looking after my DD every day if it gets as bad as last time 😬

girafferafferaffe · 14/01/2022 07:42

I am so anxious about telling my boss! I keep thinking should I just say it. I feel so guilty about her giving me a pay rise on Monday. I'm worried that she and the principals will be annoyed at me for that. I don't know whether I should just go in and say I know you've just given me a pay rise but I've just found out I'm pregnant. Or do I wait until the scan and them know that I knew I was pregnant at the time. I don't know.
