Hello all!

Just wondering if anyone is a similar stage to me and how you're feeling. A tiny part of me feels a bit emotional that this will be my last pregnancy and it's nearly over, but a very, very large part of me is thoroughly fed up!

Anyone else? :)

Hello! Congratulations on your pregnancy. Which baby number is it for you?

I'm 36 weeks today. Second and last baby. I can't lie - I can't wait to not be pregnant this time round!

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 08/10/2021 18:31

Number 3 :) how old is your second? Do you know what you're having? I've got 5 year old boy and my daughter is 3 just a few days before my due date 🙈 really hoping I don't have this baby on her birthday!

How are you feeling?

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles oh you're an expert then ☺️ how many weeks are you? I think a shared birthday could be quite cute!

My son is 3y9m so he will be almost 4 by the time baby arrives. He was an overdue baby tho, didn't come til 42 weeks 😭

I'm feeling a bit rough. My hips really ache at night in bed and I spend the whole night tossing and turning. Very tired too. How about you?

mooloop · 08/10/2021 20:11

Hey! I'm 37 weeks tomorrow, totally shattered, constantly weeing and hoping baby doesn't keep me waiting too long now Grin

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 08/10/2021 20:13

36+4 now and getting very uncomfortable! My first was 41 weeks and my second 38 so you might get lucky! Second birth was much faster and easier too, hoping for same again 🤞 how are you feeling about the birth? Part of me is desperate to go into labour but I'm also pretty nervous!

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 08/10/2021 20:15

@mooloop ooh any day now! Is this your first? I am EXHAUSTED all day but then go to bed and csnt sleep!

OP posts:
mooloop · 08/10/2021 20:18

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles I'm exactly the same about sleep! Yeah it's my first baby so no idea what to expect. In my head I'm anticipating going well overdue and if he arrives beforehand it's a bonus 😂

8dpwoah · 08/10/2021 20:22

39 weeks today and can totally relate to the 'oh it's nearly over' sad and happy at same time! Definitely our last. Complicated by the fact that plan A was to induce at 37 weeks then the need has crept back and I'm now back on normal spontaneous watch, it's been a rollercoaster! I'd like to avoid induction but the not-knowing is really hard too!

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 08/10/2021 20:42

Ooh @mooloop how exciting! Nothing like the first time Smile hope it all goes well!

Uh posted too soon!

@8dpwoah ooh so close!! Any signs yet? Bet you're sick of people asking 🙈

Has anyone heard of this purple line that apparently shows how dilated you are? Just read about it tonight on another thread and now contorting myself into strange positions trying to take photos of my bum crack 😳

OP posts:
Bananapancakes6 · 08/10/2021 22:58

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles my first was an induction but labour was 4h total, so everyone has warned me that this one is likely to be very quick 😬 it's causing me a lot of anxiety as we're 30 mins from hospital, DH doesn't drive and we have to get someone to watch DS at the drop of a hat 😩 part of me hopes I go overdue and get induced again just so it's planned somewhat!

I have heard about the purple line, I thought it was only there in active labour tho?

Labyrinth86 · 08/10/2021 23:22

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow. It's my first baby. I'm feeling rubbish - so tired, midback pain, pain under my bump, bloating, etc. However, I have a c-section booked and I know it's only 18 more days maximum 😅

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 08/10/2021 23:25

@Bananapancakes6 oh that is quick for a first! My first was around 6 hours then my second active Labour was only about 45 minutes. Absolutely crapping myself about being unintentionally at home, or worse in the car!

According to my extensive googling tonight, it can appear as soon as you start dilating, around 2cm! Though no medical professional has ever mentioned it to me previously so not sure how legit it is! My DP isn't impressed being asked to take photographs 😳

Nothing yet other than the lovely pelvic pressure 😬 I've got a sweep next week so will see if things are ready to happen or if the door is firmly shut at 40 weeks like it was with my first!
I've tried to get into some of the old qives' tales when I thought I was having an early induction... Dates are disgusting, raspberry leaf tablets made me feel sick and indigestiony so they went in the bin, sex is absolutely not happening! The only things I'm managing to try are walking, ball bouncing and colostrum harvesting. Might give the pineapple a go as at least I enjoy eating it even if it does nothing 😂

Tempting to have a look for a bum line though...

Bananapancakes6 · 09/10/2021 08:28

@8dpwoah how about a long walk? When I was overdue with my first we went on some long walks and that seemed to help get my cervix ready as by the time my second sweep came around I was 1cm.

Saying that, I know I couldn't handle a long walk this time 😬

8dpwoah · 09/10/2021 15:37

Oh I can't be arsed 😂 I have got a bit nesty today though but don't know if it counts if you're only cleaning and tidying away the garden toys 😂
I can't believe that at this point with my first I hadn't even been on mat leave for a week and still felt great, there's no way I'd have been of any use to anyone this last week!

lockdownbabyx · 09/10/2021 15:55

FTM here and 37 weeks tomorrow! Feeling very fed up now but excited. Also nervous and anxious at the thought of my life changing completely, doesn't feel real yet! Still waiting for the nesting stage to kick in too, I really can't be arsed to do anything right now and have lots to organise still 🤦🏻‍♀️

Bananapancakes6 · 09/10/2021 19:19

@8dpwoah haha I totally get you. I have no idea how I was so active at the end last time, I can barely walk this time. My whole body hurts by the evening.

I think I have felt moderately nesty. I have done a lot of sorting and organising when my DS is at nursery. Babys room is also 90% ready.

Has everyone packed their hospital bag?

@lockdownbabyx Congrats! Do you know what you're having?

marykitty · 09/10/2021 19:30

Hello, almost 37 weeks here with DC2 Star I am f* tired Grin still working, entering maternity leave at 39 weeks, will I survive until there? My 2yo is also keeping me active.

Compared to last time I felt way more nesty, I hope is a good sign because my DS1 was an induction at almost 42 weeks (ended up in EMCS) and I would love DD to come "naturally" a bit earlier Smile

lockdownbabyx · 09/10/2021 19:39

@Bananapancakes6 yes I'm having a little boy! How about you? I've also packed my hospital bag so I'm organised that way haha. I've got one week left at work then that's me done, hoping the nesting kicks in once I've finished 😬 x

Bananapancakes6 · 09/10/2021 20:00

@lockdownbabyx I'm having a boy too. I am chuffed, can't wait to meet him. His brother is verrrry excited too, keeps telling me November is taking a very long time - you're telling me mate.

@marykitty Wow, good on you! I stopped at 32 weeks this time because I just cba any longer! I have the same hopes about this one coming earlier. It seems like everyone who was late first time, was late again second time tho :(

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 09/10/2021 20:15

Ooh lots of us nearly there Grin I'm having lots of braxton hicks, which are definitely not painless but not painful either... I keep hoping its early labour but think that's a bit optimistic! He's so back to back at rhe moment and want him to turn before he arrives!

OP posts:
Bananapancakes6 · 09/10/2021 20:27

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles Same! Always when I sit down in the evening. Back to back, ouch - can you feel him moving against your spine? I've felt this a few times but think my baby is laying with his back to my left side as its much bigger than right side Grin

Xyzzzzz · 09/10/2021 20:28

37 weeks, getting induced on weds. 2nd baby not sure how I will manage as my 1st is two years old.

8dpwoah · 09/10/2021 20:36

Our DD is just over two too!

I already had my bag packed for an induction at 37 weeks and I haven't changed it so I've probably got WAY too much of everything but I was in for a full week last time so wasn't taking any chances...
