Hello all!

Just wondering if anyone is a similar stage to me and how you're feeling. A tiny part of me feels a bit emotional that this will be my last pregnancy and it's nearly over, but a very, very large part of me is thoroughly fed up!

Anyone else? :)

I’ve been really lazy this time. I’ve only just packed my bag 😩. I’ve just been extra tired this time.

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 09/10/2021 23:22

@Bananapancakes6 i just keep getting arms and legs sticking out at the front, sometimes his movements are almost painful now! Though they said contractions may make him turn before being born 🤷‍♀️

Wiiiiide awake again despite being shattered, tempted to have yet another bath but i know I'll regret it in the morning when the other kids have me up at 6 🙄

Pelvis is sooo achey today and I'm sure this purple line is getting darker but think I'll be heading for divorce if I ask dh to check again Grin

Bananapancakes6 · 10/10/2021 08:03

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles oh yes movements hurt me too. For some reason baby always decides to wriggle when I'm driving, cue lots of wincing and scaring my DH 😂

Worst sleep ever last night. My hips hurt so much I constantly roll from side to side all night. Feeling really quite done with being pregnant now. Can't wait to lay on my front again.

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 10/10/2021 15:07

I feel you @Bananapancakes6!

I've had these pains for days now, yet nothing happens and I really am dreading potentially another MONTH of this!! Soo fed up

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles Its a bit of a scary thought isn't it. My trust apparently only advise you to go to 41 weeks now, it was 42 when my son was born so I keep telling myself only another 4.5 weeks maximum. Time is flying by at the moment so I hope it continues, but the uncomfy sleep and the achey pelvis is not nice at all.

I've had tons of braxton hicks today, basically any time I do anything and then sit down. Lots of pressure down below too. I'm not hopeful, but it is nice to speculate Grin

How is everyone else?

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 10/10/2021 19:39

Ahh sounds like things are gearing up even if its not imminent!

I've also had loads of pains today, to the point where I started timing them Blush but now they've eased off! I'm just nervous because I've been told to go in at the first twinge (as my 2nd was born so quickly) but I really can't tell what's the first twinge and what's braxton hicks/ general pregnancy pain!

I don't remember getting so many pains with my other 2, unless I've just blocked it out Grin

OP posts:
Bananapancakes6 · 10/10/2021 19:46

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles Yes, same problem here! First twinge and I'm meant to be off. I'm hoping waters will just go like they always do in films, then at least I'll know!

I definitely was never this uncomfortable last time round. I don't remember the constant aches and pains either. Such a different pregnancy, I sense this baby is going to be trouble. My first son was born 2 weeks over and was 7lb3, but this baby is estimated 90th centile so I'm anticipating a wopper! Do you have big or small ones?

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 10/10/2021 19:50

@Bananapancakes6 very similar here, first was 20th centile and second was tiny on thr 1st centile, so been having growth scans this time around which have led to them predicting a 9lber if he goes to 40 weeks! I'm hoping they're wrong about that!

My waters haven't gone on their own before so not expecting them to this time, though id quite like the excitement of it! I hate this part, constantly symptom spotting 🙈 I'm even annoying myself now 😂

nanabow · 10/10/2021 19:53

37.5 weeks with my second.

Uncomfortable, struggling to look after a toddler and generally just tired and fed up.

Bananapancakes6 · 10/10/2021 20:02

@nanabow Solidarity! We can do this...

nanabow · 10/10/2021 20:07

@Bananapancakes6

They don't tell you how much tougher it is second time round!

A friend is due her first the same week as I'm due. She's off of maternity leave now and her Instagram is full of afternoon teas, lunching with friends and binge watching shows that aren't Peppa Pig 😂

Trying so hard not to be bitter.

nanabow · 10/10/2021 20:12

It's interesting that a few of us have been told we're having big babies.

I'm measuring big and a scan last week estimated that the baby is 93rd percentile, so 9lb+

There is talk of induction, but I'm keen to go naturally. Especially because DC1 came a couple of days early.

Bananapancakes6 · 10/10/2021 21:03

@nanabow Nobody warns you! I was 30 when I had DS, 34 now, it can't be all down to that tho! I guess 3 years of bad sleep doesn't help and crawling around on the floor playing lego day after day Grin

At my 34wk appointment I was measuring 35 weeks, which sounds big but actually its only 1cm extra, the midwife did say I was carrying a lot of fluid so I'm taking it all with a pinch of salt. Small babies run in my family I'd be surprised if I suddenly birthed a whopper.

When did they suggest inducing you?

nanabow · 10/10/2021 21:07

@Bananapancakes6

At 38 weeks which is this coming week. But I've declined and will reassess at my appointment on Friday.

My first was 8lb 3oz, and a couple of days early. So not huge, but not small. Especially considering that I'm 5ft and usually weigh under 8 stone.

Labyrinth86 · 11/10/2021 08:32

Does anyone have any tips on sleeping? I use a pregnancy pillow (U shaped that goes all the way around me). If I try to sleep on either side, my baby complains with forceful movements. On my left side, I also experience rib and bladder pain (with empty bladder) and pressure on my bump and feel like it's difficult to breathe. When I lie on my right side, it is slightly more comfortable but she still protests and it can hurt my bump. I sometimes fall asleep on my right side but wake up on my back. I read that sleeping on your back in third trimester doubles the risk of stillbirth (and someone posted a triggering post on one of my pregnancy apps with no warning last week that heightened my anxiety around that). I only have 15 days to go but I'd love to get some sleep and reduce my anxiety.

Additionally, does anyone else have what feels like loads of trapped wind? I take Rennies Deflatine (I miss Boots own brand - they are the best but cannot be used during pg or bf) and they help a bit but I still feel so full and uncomfortable and I think it's more than just baby and fluid doing that. Any tips greatly received.

jubbablub · 11/10/2021 09:14

39 weeks today here. Not fed up, but starting to feel it a bit.

Sleeping. Ha ha ha ha. I’ve given up. I’ve started using the gentle birth app and hypnotising myself to sleep. It seems to be working. It is just uncomfortable though. At least I have three days where my 3yo is in nursery, so I can have some naps. I think if you end up on your back, that’s fine. It’s starting off on your back that is the issue.

I think trapped wind is common now as our insides are all in the wrong places. The feeling of things settling back to normal post birth is one of the weirdest things ever.

Hope everyone else is doing okay today.

mooloop · 11/10/2021 09:40

Morning ladies! Quite a lot of us in this uncomfortable late pregnancy boat it seems Grin I'm 37+2 today and it's my first day of the annual leave I'm using before starting mat leave from my due date Smile

I had a weird night last night. I woke up in the night with pains in my bump that were maybe about 20 seconds long, so fairly short, reached a peak and then subsided. They carried on for i'd say at least an hour, so I was lying there thinking is this the start?! Shock but alas, they then stopped! Maybe just my body having a bit of a practice I guess? I did get up to see if I just needed the loo but it wasn't that Blush

Melody27 · 11/10/2021 12:01

Hi everyone! At 38 weeks today, hope you don’t mind me joining. First time mum and having so much pressure and twinges today, is this a good sign?! X

8dpwoah · 11/10/2021 12:51

My bump has really dropped 😀 I know this because I managed to cut my toenails today, was desperate so thought would give it a whirl despite several failed attempts in the mast couple of weeks!

With the sleep thing, best thing I ever did was get rid of my big pregnancy pillow and just stick a wedge-shaped cushion under the bump itself. I don't know why but I've been loads better without it.

Bananapancakes6 · 11/10/2021 13:18

@Labyrinth86 I'm really struggling with sleeping at the moment too, I love my sleep so I drop off ok but then I get so uncomfortable I end up rolling around all night. My pelvis/hips just ache so much. A couple of times I've found myself on my back and panicked. I'm going to try putting a single duvet underneath me tonight and see if that helps at all.

@Melody27 Welcome! twinges and pressure sound positive!

Has anyone had any sort of mucus plug loss yet?

Bananapancakes6 · 11/10/2021 13:19

@8dpwoah Thats good! bending down is hard huh. This bump has always been really low, I've never really had the breathing struggle. At the moment it looks lower than it did in pics from a few weeks ago tho.

8dpwoah · 11/10/2021 13:57

No plug here yet, I only lost a tiny bit after three pessaries (one fell out) last time so that will be a novelty if/when it goes decide to go! I've never experienced any of the spontaneous labour stuff as DD was so keen to stay where she was!

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 11/10/2021 15:17

Ooh @melody27 that sounds positive, keep us updated!

I was up until 2.30 last night timing contractions that then stopped! Its going to be a long few weeks i think 😂

Melody27 · 11/10/2021 18:27

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles thanks will do, I swear this symptom spotting is the worst!!

No loss of mucus plug yet, I swear I have less discharge at the mo than any other time of my pregnancy which is v odd Confused

False contractions sound like good practise thoufh!!

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 11/10/2021 18:31

@Melody27 i didn't lose mine until I was in active Labour with my others! My waters have never gone either!

It is isnt it, though I haven't actually packed my hospital bag yet so should probably think about getting organised 😂
