Hello all!

Just wondering if anyone is a similar stage to me and how you're feeling. A tiny part of me feels a bit emotional that this will be my last pregnancy and it's nearly over, but a very, very large part of me is thoroughly fed up!

Anyone else? :)

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles
Morning 😊
We have a beautiful little girl who was born on the 14th. I was sent for the MRI scan and they wouldn't do it because I was already in slow labour so they broke my waters and hooked me up to the drip 2hrs later and and after another 2hrs and the most horrendous contractions and 4 pushes and I had a baby.
She was a little poorly though as it was so quick and the contractions were so intense I actually thought I was dying. We had to stay in hospital until Saturday but we're home now with her brother and sisters and she's slotted right into place.
Hope you are all getting on ok and it's not long.

It may be different for me as mine was 4th pregnancy and I'd only given birth 10months previously but I had 18days of contractions, period pains and aches, loss of mucus plug, stabbing pains, diarrhoea, severe headaches and extreme fatigue before I was in actual established labour at 4cm so it all sounds positive for you all but not necessarily imminent xx
If you don't feel right and anything at all is worrying you be seen and make sure you leave feeling reassured because the consultant who finally decided to deliver my baby said she would of been delivered 2 weeks ago if she was my consultant from the start (due to potential brain aneurysm)

Bananapancakes6 · 18/10/2021 10:08

@4kinhell wow congratulations! Sounds rather eventful. What weight was baby? I hope all is ok with your health too.

8dpwoah · 18/10/2021 10:20

Glad she's out safely @4kinhell, congrats!

I'm having one long Braxton Hicks this morning, feels like baby is trying to come out bum first through my belly button. So not anything concrete but I'm now riding the line between getting my childcare (mum) over just in case but not too early, it will take her two hours all in so she will definitely get called once I get anything 'better' to justify it but you know when you're in the 'what if?' mode? 40+3 today so it's about bloody time if things are going 😂

Bananapancakes6 · 18/10/2021 11:02

@8dpwoah ah it's a tricky call isn't it! Has there been any break at all? How's your bum crack colour? 😂

This morning my baby was in such an odd position, it was like two big hard lumps either side of my bellybutton. I imagine he's rolling all over the place in there.

8dpwoah · 18/10/2021 11:14

DP is WFH so when he goes on his lunch break I might ask him to do a crack inspection 😂

Did have a break while I sat in the floor playing with DD but it's back again, might put a film on for us and have a sit on the ball, see what that does. Baby is right at the front and wriggling a lot so I think it could well just be positioning, the period cramps I had yesterday have vanished and still no plug or anything...

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 18/10/2021 12:59

Wow congratulations @4kinhell!! Hope you're feeling much better now. Sounds like an intense labour. That's exactly what it's been like here, diarrhoea, cramps, pains and then nothing. Thank god this is my last one 😂

@4kinhell congratulations!!!

My baby girl was born this morning weighing 6lb 1oz. Had the full three stages of induction since Friday - balloon and pessary first then drip started at midnight last night, had to have 2 epidurals! And managed to doze most the night, while my body had back to back contractions. 2 hours of pushing and some threats by the team at the hospital that I would need to go to theatre seemed to be enough to get her out just after 9am. I'm bloody knackered!

Fingers crossed to all you ladies that things get going ASAP x

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 18/10/2021 17:03

@knock123 congratulations!! Lovely to hear Smile hope you're not in too much pain xx

Mine is the 2nd as well! GrinFlowers Just came back from my 38 weeks check, CTG and growth scan all good, apparently baby is low and tucked in the pelvis, and cervix is now soft (but still closed). CTG showed random contractions as well. I will take it Grin considering DS1 was born by induction and EMCS at almost 42 weeks...i am curios to see how this will evolve!

Still 1 week to go at work and then I am freeeeee

And you ladies, how are you doing?

8dpwoah · 18/10/2021 17:45

Congrats, @knock123! I bet you feel pretty battered now but my experience last time was that you should feel 'ok' after all that in a day or two. Maybe not amazing, but definitely a lot better than you do right now!

After my interesting morning I've got nothing again. Nada. Covid test tomorrow it is 😬🤦 unless the ball and sniffing some Clary sage can get me motivated tonight! Don't say sex- not happening 😂

mrssunshinexxx · 18/10/2021 17:50

@Knock123 huge congratulations and well done to you I hope you are feeling ok ish x
@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles 5th Nov here plsssss let her be early

Bananapancakes6 · 18/10/2021 19:53

Wow @Knock123 congratulations how lovely! I hope you can get some good rest tonight and enjoy your new daughter.

My due date is 5th November. It feels so long away, and to make matters worse I was tracking and temping so I'm fairly certain EDD should be 11th November. Theres no way this baby is coming any time soon Sad

@8dpwoah Ah noo, I had high hopes for you. Maybe it'll take you by surprise in the night Wink

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 18/10/2021 22:17

Ooh @marykitty I'll race you Grin sounds very similar to me, baby was 2/5 engaged (?) cervix soft but closed. How quickly can that change?? My first I was 1cm dilated for aaages before he came. Worries me a bit that it means its still ages away! Can't believe you're still working too! What a trooper!

I keep getting cramps and thinking its all starting, then it just stops Sad so many false starts already!! How will I cope if i go overdue, I'll have cracked up by the end!

Feeling so heavy and full of baby today. Constant pressure in my downstairs, feels like he's going to fall out! My bump is really sore if I do any kind of physical activity too. I took the dog out last night at 7pm, only a 20 min walk but I felt like I was going to die halfway round. I just feel so weak and useless Sad I really hope this baby is at least a bit on his way...

8dpwoah · 19/10/2021 13:48

Well I really enjoyed my 90 minutes in the car with a baby bobbling about on my bladder (no stops allowed of course!) for a 2 min covid swab that I could have had 10 mins down the road 🤦 although on the plus side the nice lady did it for me so was much more efficient than me doing it myself 😂

Did a recce of the hospital car park as well out of interest on the way out and it's worse than ever so I guess DP will have to dump me at the door with my bag whether we go spontaneous or planned. All good info... still got 48 hours or so for baby to decide it's time to come out I guess!

mrssunshinexxx · 19/10/2021 14:08

Going to check if my waters are leaking once the baby wakes from nap don't want them to be unless contractions are going to start soon

Bananapancakes6 · 19/10/2021 15:05

@8dpwoah our hospital is a nightmare too. Check out a website called just park. You can pay to park on people's driveways. I've used it every time I've had to visit hospital and it is so much easier and cheaper, plus turning up knowing you are guaranteed a space means you don't have to get there too early.

Xyzzzzz · 19/10/2021 17:59

Had my baby last week. She was early 37 weeks. Was due to be induced 3 days later! But she insisted on coming a bit earlier. Started with contractions at home and remained at home until I couldn’t bear the pain longer. Once I pushed my waters to break I managed to have her within 10 mins. I was lucky again it was a quick birth. I’ve forgotten how small newborns are Blush

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 19/10/2021 18:52

Congratulations @Xyzzzzz!! How long between contractions starting and her being born? What did she weigh? Hope all is well, 10 minutes isnt too bad going Grin

8dpwoah · 19/10/2021 18:59

Ah nice one @xyzzzzz congrats!

Does anyone know if getting the urge to bury your partner under the patio is a sign of impending labour? 🤔

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 19/10/2021 19:00

I don't think so @8dpwoah, unless I've been about to give birth for the last 8 years Grin

@8dpwoah @Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles 😂😂😂😂
Well confirmed not waters just discharge , grim

Bananapancakes6 · 19/10/2021 19:46

@8dpwoah Idk but same, but I am permanently livid 24/7 as well.

@Xyzzzzz Amazing congratulations! I think the size of a newborn is going to come as a bit of a shock to me too.
