Hello all!

Just wondering if anyone is a similar stage to me and how you're feeling. A tiny part of me feels a bit emotional that this will be my last pregnancy and it's nearly over, but a very, very large part of me is thoroughly fed up!

Anyone else? :)

Not convinced that my baby hasn't changed position, he was transverse until about 31 weeks and then went head down. The way I've been feeling today (really sore heavy bump) and his movements are making me think he might be transverse again. Anyone else spend ages trying to work out where each limb is?

Melody27 · 12/10/2021 08:34

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles oooh what were your first symptoms with your others?

I was up for hours in the night with diarrhoea, hoping it means things are moving in the right direction but not feeling exhausted.

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 12/10/2021 11:11

@Melody27 diarrhoea!! So sounds promising for you! Both of mine that was the first sign before contractions started. I bet you're not far off 🤞

Oh no @Bananapancakes6 that sounds uncomfortable!

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles ahh!! It’s all calmed down now but hopefully means it won’t be far off? How long was it between that and contractions for you?

Allegra82 · 12/10/2021 11:50

I’m 37+3 with my third! This is my last week of work. My first 2 kids came at 41 weeks and 39+6, so think I still have 2-3 weeks to go.
Which is fine by me as I’m completely disorganized 😂
Feeling really well actually- considering I’m 39 and had my last baby at 32.

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 12/10/2021 12:02

@Melody27 with my first it was pretty much immediate- within the hour that active Labour started. With my second it started 24 hours later Smile fingers crossed for you!

@allegra82 how old are your others? Pleased you're still feeling well, I've been shattered this time with 2 others to run around after! Mine are 2 and 5, the 2 year old in particular is keeping me on my toes Grin

OP posts:
Bananapancakes6 · 12/10/2021 12:22

@Melody27 Yes that does sound promising! Altho every time I get slightly looser than normal poos now I am getting excited Grin

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles any further developments for you?

@Allegra82 Good for you! Wish I was feeling spritely! What have you got left to organise?

Dtd last night in an attempt to get something going, had loads of braxton hicks all day yesterday but nothing much happening today.

Allegra82 · 12/10/2021 12:26

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles my other kids are 9 and 6 - which definitely helps! They are very independent, so I’m mostly wondering why I’m doing this all over again 😂

@Bananapancakes6 I’m still working from home, in the spare room, that will become the nursery. So pretty much have to do everything 😳 have a bassinet and change table set up in my bedroom and that’s about it! Luckily babies don’t need much haha

lillylemons · 12/10/2021 12:35

36 weeks with my 3rd and I'm exhausted never felt like this with the other 2.
I cant wait for it to be over.

Pix89 · 12/10/2021 12:38

Can I join too?

I'm 36w tomorrow with my first. Getting slightly uncomfortable now and ohhhh I feel you ladies with bedtime hip pain...I've been trying to stretch it off the last few days. I can't complain much as I have had a really straightforward pregnancy. I can't say I have had any Braxton Hicks though which worries me slightly...

Bananapancakes6 · 12/10/2021 12:46

@Pix89 Welcome! I wouldn't worry about the braxton hicks, some people feel them, some don't - I didn't feel them with my first until I was about 40 weeks.

Last night I tried sleeping on top of two pillows and I still got killer hip pain. I'm considering trying the sofa tonight.

nanabow · 12/10/2021 15:29

Another vote for getting rid of the pregnancy pillow.

I was massively struggling with hip and rib pain, the only thing that sorted it was getting rid of the pillow so I could easily switch sides in the night.

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 12/10/2021 16:47

@Bananapancakes6 no more signs, I felt like he was coming imminently over the weekend but now everything seems to have stopped 😢 so ready!!

Has anyone started trying curry/ pineapple etc? Not convinced any of it makes a difference but I'll try just about anything! Though sex feels like way too much effort at this point 😂

Hello :)

I’m 40+10 days and still awaiting my little bundle. Booked for induction on Friday. After sweep number 4 yesterday I’ve been having lots of show and Braxton-Hicks so hoping he will make his appearance before Friday

Knock123 · 12/10/2021 17:25

Hello everyone, ahhh it feels so close yet so far! I am 36+6 today, FTM.

I've been getting lots of lower back ache and braxton hicks where my belly seems to be hard for like 30 mins without a break!
Had a scan with the obstetrician yesterday and baby's head is in place and she told me to make sure everything is ready so she's given me hope I might not be waiting long. No doubt baby will be late now!

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 12/10/2021 17:39

Ooh wow @Aug12 is it your first? How exciting!

@knock123 do you know what you're having? Not too long now, you must be due around the same as me! I'm due 2nd november

OP posts:
Knock123 · 12/10/2021 18:06

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles no I didn't find out! Do you know what you're having? Ah yes my due date is the 3rd! Just wish someone could tell me when baby is coming, I just can't stand that I could have another 5 weeks to go.

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 12/10/2021 18:30

@knock123 do they let you go to 42 weeks? They induce at 41 here! But still feels ages! Yes a boy 😊 though so far my son is easier than my daughter so quite relieved 😂

Bananapancakes6 · 12/10/2021 19:25

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles When I was overdue last time I tried every single thing - curry, sex, pineapple, long walks, raspberry leaf tea, clary sage. Nothing actually worked although the sage did give me contractions, still had to be induced but wonder if all that made me super ready as he practically flew out.

@Knock123 Sounds positive! I have midwife tomorrow so looking forward to seeing where I'm at.

I'm due November 5th!

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 12/10/2021 19:40

Ooh @Bananapancakes6 what do you do with clary sage? Not heard of that one!

OP posts:
Bananapancakes6 · 12/10/2021 19:51

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles I just put a couple of drops in my baths. Smells quite nice too. Some people rub it into their bump I think, but do your research first because I think it can be quite effective.

Knock123 · 12/10/2021 19:57

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles Oh they probably don't let us go to 42 weeks I have no idea!! Just giving myself an end date to focus on.

@Bananapancakes6 fingers crossed the midwife has good news for you. If only they could touch our bellies and give us an accurate date hey!

I have just been to the loo and had a bit of mucus (sorry - gross) but no blood and my furious googling tells me this means nothing. Ahh pregnancy is so glamorous and frustrating isn't it!!

8dpwoah · 12/10/2021 22:58

Tonight I feel like baby is trying to very slowly wriggle out but is hitting my hip/groin instead...she's being very polite about it but I'd rather she went for a more traditional approach!

Bananapancakes6 · 13/10/2021 09:52

@8dpwoah Have had similar, its like I can physically feel him wriggling downwards, its like he is touching my hip bones sometimes.

@Knock123 I know, I'm terrible with the not knowing, spontaneity of labour. I'd be very happy if it was scheduled!

4kinhell · 13/10/2021 09:58

Hi Everyone, hope you don't mind me joining. I'm 38+4
I've been given 2 due dates, one was yesterday (private clinic) and one is the 22nd October (have to stick with this one as it's the NHS one)
I've been in slow labour for 2 weeks now, 3cm dilated and contracting but not progressing and the hospital just seem to keep sending me away with paracetamol, even though I'm having severe period and back pains, headaches that are so bad I can't speak or move my limbs and have blurred vision.
I'm back at the hospital tomorrow for an MRI scan and to see a consultant so hopefully they will give me a sweep or plan an induction or just anything to get this baby moving.

This is my 4th baby by the way and my last baby is coming up to 11months old so it's been a very quick, unexpected pregnancy.
