florencebunny · 19/09/2021 15:41

@maymum94 thank you!! I'm the least organised person ever so I'm glad you're here😂😂

maymum94 · 19/09/2021 15:43

Thanks okay ladies I could see the other one filled up rather quickly so though might get this one going while it finishes so that way if people don't check regular they can see when they do.

Thanks for the new thread @maymum94

Really struggling today. Feel so exhausted I literally feel like I’ve been drugged. Can barely keep my eyes open and feel so sick. I can’t believe I’d forgotten how hard the first trimester is. Keep looking at my baby scan photo to remind myself it’s all for a good reason.

raj2018 · 19/09/2021 17:46

Agree completely, @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat. My nausea is manageable but this exhaustion is extreme. I did manage to exercise today, but that's it. Nothing else got done.

You're completely right though. Those scan photos show what it's all for!

I have a question: I have my first midwife appointment next week and I was planning to go on my own as it’s during working hours (I’m actually taking the day off as I have extra days to use). Should I actually ask my partner to come with me or is it ok? I thought it would be mostly medical questions for me, so I wasn’t sure. My only concern is that I know I’m rhesus negative while he doesn’t know his blood type so it will probably needs to be checked at some point just in case he’s positive.

Etonmess20 · 20/09/2021 12:20

@StinWom my midwife appointment letter actually says they want to see me alone & to make sure I have details of significant health conditions in mine & DPs family but doesn't mention blood groups or anything. I am also rh negative & DP is rh positive but don't know what the process would be if we didn't know DPs blood type. Might be worth asking the midwife when you go but think they won't be doing anything about it for a fair while anyway will they? (Sure I read the injections are a lot later but may be wrong)

Sarah239 · 20/09/2021 13:06

Hi everyone, happy Monday!

Has anyone else had any gastro/upset tummy symptoms in early pregnancy? I've reading hormone levels can cause gut changes. I do have a sensitive stomach and IBS... just wondering if anyone else has been having that. It's been a few days now and I'm starting to think it might be a symptom I'm having.

Just had really sharp stomach pain, then had a banana which settled it down. Maybe I just should eat as soon as I am hungry

Could be all this anxiety too!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 20/09/2021 13:25

@StinWom I’ve never taken dh to any of my appointments. The booking in will just be hundreds of questions about your medical history. There’s actually a few parts (about if you feel safe and supported at home) where if your partner was with you they ask them to leave apparently as they want to make sure you aren’t feeling co-erced). I’d go alone but ask them about the blood type thing as I’m not sure about that.

haz452 · 20/09/2021 14:05

@Sarah239 Hey I have ibs and had an upset stomach last night I've googled it and it's just hormones and if you have a sensitive stomach then the hormones changing won't help. When am hungry or feel sick I eat and just snack rather than big meals xx

StinWom · 20/09/2021 14:10

@Etonmess20 @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat Thanks, that’s what I thought! I’ll go on my own and will just ask about the rhesus then - partner won’t be helpful anyway as he doesn’t know what he is so no point in him being there.
