Evening all,
Hope everyone is well,
I went back to work today after some holiday and must have had “preggers” tattooed to my forehead, I was asked if I was pregnant about 6 times 😬 didn’t know what to say, it’s way too early to be telling them!

Milly1408 · 21/09/2021 07:34

@EllJ welcome to the group and congrats! I’m also in Scotland (Glasgow), I booked my midwife appointment without contacting my Gp. Your city should have a number for midwife referral. I called that when I just found out (about 4 weeks pregnant) and they arranged my midwife appointment (for 10 weeks) and my 12 week scan appointment all at the same time over the phone! They also send you lots of info in the post a few days later Smile. Hope this helps!

SerendipitySunshine · 21/09/2021 07:53

Off for my scan this afternoon. Feeling very nervous!

@msunflower glad it all went well!

@SerendipitySunshine good luck for this afternoon 💕

MrsSE · 21/09/2021 09:52

@msunflower yay! Very happy for you!

@SerendipitySunshine do update us, I’m sure everything will be fine and you will come away thrilled to have seen your baby!

I just had a call from my midwife to say they are doing a phone call this morning to go through all of the questions for the booking in appointment, then I’m going in at 2pm for blood tests etc. They dated me at 8 weeks based on my last period, but I’m sure I’m 6+4 weeks based on late ovulation. I have a scan tomorrow so we will see what they say then! I totally get being nervous, let’s just hope we all get a huge relief once we get to our scans. 🥰🤞🏻

MrsSE · 21/09/2021 09:56

@Marden11302 oh no- it’s so cheeky of them. I had the same thing yesterday with 2 people asking me, in front of other people as well, it’s so difficult!! You’d think they would know not to ask as either you aren’t pregnant or not comfortable telling people yet- seriously!!! I think sometimes the best approach is to laugh it off and move on.

EJLM · 21/09/2021 12:21

ahhh a new thread - I self referred 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet my private scan is Sunday feeling anxious for it. hope everyone is ok x

Sarah239 · 21/09/2021 15:07

Anyone else just feeling rubbish this week, wanting to lie down and need a hug?!? I sincerely hope this isn't going to be me for the next 7 weeks!

Thoughts with everyone else feeling crappy today!! And good luck with upcoming scans!

SerendipitySunshine · 21/09/2021 17:31

Just come out of the scan. There was a heartbeat and all looks OK so I feel so much better now. Thanks for your kind wishes.

Sarah239 · 21/09/2021 18:09

@SerendipitySunshine that's good to hear, congratulations! Happy for you

Aw I hope the rubbish feeling passes soon! Are you able to get some rest?

Ice lollies have been an absolute saving grace for me this week, but of a sugar rush, helps quench this insatiable thirst and helps ease the nausea when it creeps up

stephlouwaz · 21/09/2021 19:33

@aNewYorkerInLondon I finally got some home made chicken and vegetable broth yesterday! it's the only thing I've managed to keep down so far so i'll be ordering some more ha!

So pleased for you that it all went well!
Marden11302 · 21/09/2021 21:04

I self referred at the weekend and was actually so nervous about it, I feel like I’m still in shock! Then I had a missed called from a withheld number yesterday🙄 guessing it may have been them, typically today when I had my phone on me all day they didn’t call back

ReiRiko · 21/09/2021 21:17

Potential May baby here! First pregnancy too! I really hope it goes well Grin

Hermioninny · 21/09/2021 21:24

Hi all, I’d love to join! Found out yesterday I’m 3+6 and calculators are all saying due 31st May so I’m hoping to straddle the May/June threads. It doesn’t feel real! Hope you’re all doing well.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 21/09/2021 22:31

@SerendipitySunshine, so pleased for you!!! It's just the most wonderful thing in the world to see that little flutter.

@Sarah239, yes! Feeling very exhausted and run down. Even when I do find a little energy, it fades so quickly.

@EllJ, instead of ice lollies, try frozen grapes. They've helped me so much! It's still sugar, but not the refined kind. Smile I buy my favorite grapes (purple for me), de-stem, wash, and dry them, then put them on a plate in the freezer. After a couple of hours, they should be frozen and you can knock them off the plate into a zipper food bag and store them in the freezer. Tip: only take out what you can eat before they thaw. They're not very good once defrosted.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 21/09/2021 22:35

@stephlouwaz, I'm so glad the soup is helping!

@Hermioninny, @ReiRiko, @Marden11302, and anyone I might have missed, welcome and congratulations!

@Hermioninny, love your name!

Ronnyrambler · 21/09/2021 23:35

Hello, week 6+1 due May 17th. Boobs have stopped being tender and so am worrying now. Some very light bleeding too. More like spotting. 6 week scan tomorrow eve as I just can't wait for the NHS scan at 13 weeks.

spacemarine · 21/09/2021 23:48
