I haven't had that before in either of my pregnancies but I know other friends have

Bubbasmama2017 · 23/09/2021 09:34

My main symptoms are tiredness that hits like a ton of bricks and nausea which has made me actually throw up a couple of times but mainly just eating crackers and drinking ice cold water helps it pass. I gained 4 stone in my previous pregnancy mainly due to nausea making me want to eat all the carbs and a lot of swelling in the last month. Got the midwife in the next couple of weeks and an early scan a couple of days before so praying everything is ok, just so worried all the time at the moment!

AMM86 · 23/09/2021 12:39

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat @Etonmess20 omg fab!! 😊😊😊 we should have catch ups at various stages or something!
Loving that I’ve found this group. Praying everything goes well for me though - very anxious!

Etonmess20 · 23/09/2021 13:08

@AMM86 that would be lovely, I'm not originally from the area so would be really nice to make some local "mummy friends" along the way!
I'm feeling quite anxious about it all too as we're an IVF pregnancy. Hoping my scan on Monday will make me feel a bit more reassured.
Did you hear back from 111 about the pains your were concerned about? X

Positive21 · 23/09/2021 14:01

@Agnitio it's weird isn't it! It made me think something could be wrong but clearly my body and the pill just worked together luckily!

@MrsSE so glad baby has a good heartbeat 🥰

@AMM86 I've been getting a wave of stomach/back pain about once a day. I had it for a week when I was 4/5 weeks but now it's just the odd moment. No shooting pains, just like a dull, uncomfortable ache that lasts about 10 minutes 🤷🏼‍♀️

Welcome to all the new ladies! 💕

AMM86 · 23/09/2021 16:46

@Etonmess20 I’m not a local either so we shall deffo have to sort some dates :)
111 rang me back at 3:45am, which was helpful as I was obviously asleep… the pain isn’t there today. They’d left a voicemail saying to contact them again if it gets any worse. Hoping it’s just my body adjusting, etc 🤷‍♀️

Etonmess20 · 23/09/2021 16:50

@AMM86 I'd definitely be up for that!
Oh that's not ideal 🤦🏼‍♀️ but glad the pains have gone today! I bet it is that if you haven't had any other symptoms but definitely keep your eye on it!
Have you referred to midwives yet? If so, do you mind me asking which hospital you've gone for?

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 23/09/2021 17:47

@Etonmess20 and @AMM86 another ‘not a local!’ I met quite a few local mums through mumsnet with my first baby. We have a fb group and we still chat all the time and have had a few meet ups and it has been so nice to meet other mums with similar age children as I knew literally no-one when I moved here!

AMM86 · 23/09/2021 18:46

@Etonmess20 I have referred but my initial appointment isn’t until 18th October. Then scan booked for 15th November. I haven’t worked out how to “chat” with them in the meantime or if that’s a thing!
Yeah we’ve chosen Princess Royal in Farnborough. Close by and my husband was born there! Initial appointment is at Queen Mary’s though. You?

AMM86 · 23/09/2021 18:47

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat @Etonmess20 ah lovely! Exactly the kind of thing I’m hoping for :) this is my first so I’m full of anxieties and questions! Where abouts are you from originally? Just being nosy!

AMM86 · 23/09/2021 18:50

Thank you for all the advice on the weird pain guys! You’ve made me feel better for now! Still hoping to chat to someone to be doubly sure though.
It wasn’t there at all today but I’m noticing it a bit since I’ve got home from work. I’m a teacher and this year I have the most lively class and need so much energy 🤦🏼‍♀️ Not ideal!

Etonmess20 · 23/09/2021 18:58

@AMM86 @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat I'm from Leicestershire originally & moved down for my DP (from down here) 3 years ago! Where are you both from originally?

@AMM86 I've gone for Darent Valley, my DP doesn't drive so PRU is a bit of a pain for us & I had some of my initial fertility treatment there so have been there before. I discounted QE as I've had an awful experience there previously (not maternity related) & could have had the baby at Guys (where I did IVF) but just not doable to actually get there!
My scans are all at Darent Valley too, first midwife appointment is there on 15/10 when I'll be exactly 10 weeks. Apparently they book my 12 week scan while I'm there (will be 12 weeks on 29th October) but we'll see. It's our first too so don't know what to expect either, just spend most days mildly terrified of something going wrong at the minute!! Hoping for some reassurance from my scan on Monday!
I downloaded the bounty app & it contains an area where you can input your hospital details & it'll show you their leaflets, I've found that really helpful for random questions I've had - also contains contact details for them too, so may be worth a look x

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 23/09/2021 19:10

@Etonmess20 I’m originally from Manchester but lived in London for 10 years as we moved here for dh’s job. Was in central london for several years but moved out here 6 years ago so we could buy a house (bigger than the shoebox we could have got in zone 1) 😂

@AMM86 I’ve had both my babies at the PRUH and will be having my third there. I’ve found the care I’ve had there really good. I’ve also heard good things about Darent Valley etonmess I know a few mums who had their babies there and were happy with the care they received.

Etonmess20 · 23/09/2021 19:22

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat awww that's lovely, definitely get far more for your money out this way than you do in Central London!
Thanks for the feedback on Darent Valley, it's so hard when you don't know too many people down here who have had babies so not sure on the best hospitals. I did read some reviews on a few hospitals but that's so hard as there's good & bad reviews even for the best places! It's nice you're back at the PRUH & know what to expect from your care there.

AMM86 · 23/09/2021 21:16

@Etonmess20 @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat
I’m from Norfolk originally. Met other half through our mutual love for the same football team haha! And ended up here.
I’ve just booked a private scan for the weekend after next in Eltham. Hoping it will ease my anxiety a bit if I at least now it’s in the right place etc!

Agnitio · 23/09/2021 22:02

Just got back from my early scan with Ultrasound Direct. Baby is in the right place, heart beating away and measuring exactly 6+2 as expected. So reassured by that tiny blob on the screen but still nervous...they next 6/7 weeks are going to drag so hard.

Ultrasound Direct were great apart from their WiFi being rubbish and couldn't pay the outstanding balance by card. Luckily DH had the cash in his wallet! Got a few print outs and they immediately sent some pictures and video to my phone. It might just be a grey blob but it's my grey blob lol

Aww lovely scan @Agnitio. I definitely know what you mean about it being reassuring but then still worrying! The first trimester seems to last such a long time. I can’t wait for my 12 week scan but that’s still just under 5 weeks away.

Great you’ve got the scan booked @AMM86 I went to the Eltham one too and they were really lovely and reassuring.

Puppymamababymama · 24/09/2021 00:27

Hello everyone! Just got a positive test this morning! Super excited and hope this bean stays, had a MC in June and CP in May. If I calculated correctly I should be 4 weeks and 2 days, due May 31st, same as @Hermioninny!

Currently constipated and boobs are a little tender. I think they will probably hurt more tomorrow. I also feel absolutely exhausted. I wanted to fall asleep in the middle of the day all week. No nausea yet and I want to eat everything

Etonmess20 · 24/09/2021 07:12

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat @AMM86 so glad to have met you ladies as I didn't even know there was a place in Eltham but have just found it!! We'll definitely be getting a scan booked in there as it's so convenient! Also nice how you get physical pictures as well as videos (didn't even know places did that!)

@AMM86 it's nice that you're a football couple too, what team do you support? DP is a BIIIIIIG Charlton fan so we're season ticket holders & baby has technically already been to their first game, granted we didn't know our IVF had worked at the time!

@Agnitio that's a beautiful picture, glad everything's as it should be!

@Puppymamababymama congratulations on your positive test & welcome!!

Hi ladies, can I join?

My EDD is 28th May 🥰 I'm so excited as this will be my first baby but also absolutely terrified of having another miscarriage. I miscarried at 7weeks in Feb so I feel like I want to get past that milestone but every day is a blessing tbh!

I've quickly read through the thread and I'm local so some of you, I'm in Dartford.

My main symptom has been tender boobs an occasional waves of nausea but nothing too terrible at the minute.

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter welcome & congratulations!! Nice to have some more local ladies.

Thank you @msunflower @Etonmess20 when is your EDDs? Do you guys have any symptoms? Xx

msunflower · 24/09/2021 09:02

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter

Thank you *@msunflower* *@Etonmess20* when is your EDDs? Do you guys have any symptoms? Xx
My EDD is the 16th May. I've been lucky in that I haven't had any morning sickness yet. I wake up feeling a little nauseous but a few sips of sprite and toast and it's gone. Sore boobs and bloating I've had since I found out I was pregnant. Yesterday I had the pregnancy munchies, my stomach was growling for lunch and at dinner I couldn't get a sweet chilli chicken wrap out of my mind until I ate it! Completely lost my sweet tooth and that happened before I knew I was pregnant, I just thought I was getting ill!
Etonmess20 · 24/09/2021 09:04

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter I'm 13th May but with an IVF pregnancy so my dates are more definite as we know what happened & when ☺️
I haven't really got any massive symptoms to be fair, my boobs are bigger & on/off sore, I get waves of nausea & am definitely more tired but can't complain really as some have it far worse!
Are you planning on having an early scan?
