Hi everyone, following up from our second thread here.

We’re just about through morning sickness and odd early pregnancy symptoms… what will the second trimester bring?

@AlackAlasAlackaday that pregnancy glow surely ? Grin

happygolucky20 · 09/06/2021 18:06

😂 @mrssunshinexxx fingers crossed!!!!

Knock123 · 09/06/2021 18:44

Well not sure about all of you but I'm going from super energised some days to feeling nauseous still other days!

Mumwithrum · 09/06/2021 18:48

I thought I'd gone I've the hill with morning sickness and I've spent the past weeks feeling energised and scoffing my face, gone right back to no appetite and not wanting to eat today. It's so frustrating 😔

AlackAlasAlackaday · 09/06/2021 19:06

that pregnancy glow surely?

I wish! I’m not sure when I’ll get this fabled glow Grin

@Mumwithrum I’m the same - I have days where I’m (fairly) energetic etc, but then wake up the next morning and need cyclizine to get through. Also doing something like light gardening for an hour or two and then being totally knocked out the whole next day.

Not sure about the glow, but it’s a few weeks since I last vomited so considering that a win.

I’ll have whooping cough and flu vaccines when I can - not offered until more than 20 weeks where I am. I got the covid jab too - did a lot of research and felt with the opening-up and Indian variant, it was the best option for me.

Mumwithrum · 09/06/2021 20:33

@AlackAlasAlackaday When you find the glow, tell me how to get it!

I hate that you're going through this too, but also makes me feel less alone! I feel like a bit of a let down I've hardly eaten anything today, and all I've done is a food shop and I'm exhausted!!

Katy4321 · 09/06/2021 23:55

@alackalasalackaday thanks for setting this up.
Not sure about a glo, but definitely feeling a lot better after the breast lump drama earlier this week and have treated myself to a couple of comfy nursing bras.

Katy4321 · 10/06/2021 00:02

@girlmama3 will definitely get whooping cough and flu vaccine.
Had my first pfizer jab and so happy to have had it, just a slightly sore arm. I would be extremely anxious not to have it especially later in pregnancy and really like the idea of my baby having some protective antibodies from me a birth.

sparklyblue81 · 10/06/2021 09:30

I’m definitely having the whooping cough vaccine- my mum caught whooping cough when she was 3 weeks old 😩 She was very seriously ill with it & has had a bad chest all her life because of it 😭 I’ve had it in my last two pregnancies with no side effects.

Not really feeling the glow here with sleeping so badly in this heat & feeling rubbish from hay fever 😬 My hair is lovely at the moment though so that’s a win 🤣

Knock123 · 10/06/2021 10:37

Agreed, the thick hair and nails is amazing!! I'm sorry ladies but I think I have a glow, most people don't know I'm pregnant but I keep being told I look really well like I've been on holiday!

I also had my first Pfizer, did loads of research and feel happy with my choice. Was reading in Brazil lots of pregnant women and babies are dying of the covid strain they have there and I'm so worried about there being a spike here in Winter so hoping baby has the antibodies. Totally get its a really personal decision though and I don't think pregnant women should be judged on their choice either way.

Hannah94L · 10/06/2021 23:04

Hi all,

Hope everyone is dealing with the warm weather ok.

Had a scan today at 17+2. Plus side of a triplet pregnancy is scans every two weeks.

Today we found out the genders. I’m having two girls and a little boy. My next scan is the 24th so the sonographer will double check again. I’m too excited but we’re keeping it from friends and family until the 26th and having a gender reveal then 😄

Katy4321 · 11/06/2021 16:40

@hannah94L that is lovely news and very exciting for you and your family. I'm sure you have said before, but is this your first pregnancy?

Had my 16 weeks midwife appointment and got to hear the heartbeat :) She was moving around a lot and going out of range.

Hannah94L · 11/06/2021 17:21

It is my first pregnancy yes. We are so excited. Would of been happy with whatever genders but having a mix is so amazing.

Aww lovely news on your 16 week appointment.

AlackAlasAlackaday · 11/06/2021 17:37

@Hannah94L that’s lovely news! The level of monitoring is really reassuring too.

sparklyblue81 · 11/06/2021 18:35

@Hannah94L aw that’s lovely 😊 and very reassuring that they are keeping a close on you so you know everything is tickity boo. There’s often too long between appointments in normal care - I didn’t see anyone from 20wks to 28wks with DS2 and it seemed like an age!

mrssunshinexxx · 11/06/2021 20:13

Congratulations @Hannah94L what a lovely mixture of beautiful babies ! Will you be having a section? When do they usually let you go to with triplets ? X

Hannah94L · 11/06/2021 21:02

@AlackAlasAlackaday thank you, it is very reassuring

@sparklyblue81 yeah I feel in very safe hands and I’m seeing the same consultant each time which is nice.

@mrssunshinexxx thank you, if I was going to 40 weeks my due date would be the 16th November but they’ve said it’s unlikely I’ll go past 35 weeks. I think 36 is maximum but most triplets come around 33 weeks.

Randomness12 · 11/06/2021 21:43

Thanks @AlackAlasAlackaday for the new thread!

Dinosaurus86 · 11/06/2021 23:13

May I cautiously join? After a bit of a hairy first trimester, so far (touch wood) the second one has been smoother.

We had a “gender scan” today, mainly for reassurance, as my 16 week appointment was just on the phone. Expecting a little boy on 20th Nov.

Feeling pretty normal at the moment, just sometimes get randomly exhausted at nothing! (And not sleeping particularly well, but I’ve had that from the start).

Katy4321 · 11/06/2021 23:27

Welcome @dinosaur86 sorry you have had a difficult first trimester. Glad you are feeling better and lovely news from the scan.

Randomness12 · 12/06/2021 08:29

Hi @Dinosaurus86 I hope you are ok after a difficult start. I’m due on 18th Nov (sex tbc but a scan at 16 weeks with my NIPT was pretty sure it’s a girl but waiting on the blood results) I’m finding I suddenly have lots of energy at random points in the day so I’ll do lots of tidying or washing or have an awesome day at work then collapse on the sofa.

AlackAlasAlackaday · 12/06/2021 08:55

Welcome dinosaur. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is straightforward, and lovely news that you know what you’re expecting.

OP posts:
Dinosaurus86 · 12/06/2021 09:17

Thank you all!

I’m quite envious of those expecting multiples! We had quite a lot of tests and scans before I got pregnant which showed I was typically producing two eggs, but obviously only one took for me. I think it’s lovely that they’ll have ready made play mates!

I’m exactly the same @Randomness12. I was shattered in the first trimester but now have bursts of energy only to collapse later!

sparklyblue81 · 12/06/2021 19:48

Hi @Dinosaurus86 👋 Glad everything is settling down for you, long May it continue!

I had my first hormonal meltdown this pregnancy (I think getting to 17 weeks is my record!) - my hubby’s birthday tomorrow & his family were all coming for a bbq this afternoon. He came back from the supermarket with cheesy batches instead of normal ones and I lost it & couldn’t stop crying for about 45 mins 😬 oops! I think it was just sleep deprivation catching up with me & the stress of cleaning/tidying/ preparing everything for having guests which I always find stressful at the best of times 🙈 He’s a good egg though, he gave me a hug, sent me for a lie down & did the hovering (and didn’t take the piss until I’d regained sanity 🤣).
