Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

Hey! Same here...exactly same dates as you! but I have miscarried 2 months ago so I am finding it difficult to be excited as I should, I have this feeling inside me it's not going to go well again...

I hope in time this will pass... and I will be able to be properly excited for this pregnancy! So far the most exciting part has been telling my boyfriend ahah...

OttilieKnackered · 24/05/2021 13:36

Me three! Due 30th Jan! Mine was not planned but I am thrilled and my DP is tentatively excited and is being great. It’s such early days I’m trying not to get too excited as I know there’s a long way to go yet.

But I am bursting to tell my two best friends and my family despite my head telling me that should wait a couple of months!

spttc · 24/05/2021 13:43

@EsseKey sorry about your miscarriage. I'm so petrified of that, I think that's what's hindering the full excitement! I can't wait to hit the 12week mark & feel a bit safer!

@OttilieKnackered it's hard not to tell people isn't it 😂😂 my friend was asking to book a holiday in December and I was like emmmmmm not sure maybe 😬😬😬😬 I'm due 5 weeks before my best friends wedding aswell so I'm happy I won't be pregnant for her big day!

Thankfully my best friend got hitched a couple of years ago.

Yes, I feel like this will be the longest eight weeks of my life for anxiety and bursting to tell. I also am going to need to pretend to be too hungover to drink at a family meal in a few weeks.

Thankfully that’s currently how I feel so not too hard a pretence.

How are your symptoms so far?

spttc · 24/05/2021 14:16

@OttilieKnackered yeh she's 35 (so am I) so Iv told her I'm trying & there would be a possibility I'd be pregnant for hen parties and things and maybe the wedding but I couldn't afford to put off getting pregnant really. I didn't think I'd conceive in 4months I'm delighted!

How long were you trying?
No crazy symptoms really. All sort of period symptoms so far ...very similar. Sore boobs etc. I did have 1 which is funny and which was what prompted me to test. I woke up yesterday morning with an overwhelming NEED for pickles, pickled onions, a cheese and pickle sandwich etc. I never eat that ever. It's only when I was in my 3rd supermarket at 9am in search of a cheese and pickle sandwich I thought.....hang on.... 😂

@OttilieKnackered when do you think you will spill the beans? 12 weeks or sooner?

OP posts:
OttilieKnackered · 24/05/2021 14:24

@spttc Ah ha! I am 34 but will be 35 by next Jan!

I was not actually trying. This is a very blessed surprise. Though given we weren’t being careful, I suppose you could say it’s not such a surprise!

I was also anticipating my period. I even stuck a sanitary towel on overnight for a few nights as I was convinced that was it. I do already feel pretty queasy at times as well, though not too badly and not constantly.

I’ve also had a bit of acid reflux and headaches plus millions of other little twinges and just a feeling of being ‘different.’

spttc · 24/05/2021 14:33

@OttilieKnackered yeh I just turned 35 in April. It's weird I'm chuffed I'll still be 35 giving birth 😂 I had always planned my 1st baby at 35 and I made it!! 🙌🙌

Yeh I agree with feeling different. I can't decide if it's in my mind. But definitely lots of little twinges etc. it's all so exciting!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌

OP posts:
OttilieKnackered · 24/05/2021 14:59

@spttc definitely not all in your mind! My period was late and my OH was all ‘ah your period’s been late before I’m sure it’s not...’ But I was pretty certain!

I’m definitely gonna try and hold on til 12 weeks if I can if only in case anything doesn’t go to plan. I’m the kind of person who wouldn’t want to have to share around the bad news aside from 1 or 2 very close friends.

I feel a bit in limbo at the moment, to be honest. Like I can’t really ‘do’ anything until then.

EsseKey · 24/05/2021 15:00

Wow ladies I can join the over 30 1st baby team :D I am 32 this year.

compared to my first pregnancy my symptoms are completely different:

  • still feeling some mini-cramps/twinges from time to time
  • not real morning sickness but moments when I feel mildly nauseous for no reason
  • no sore boobs, which I had the first time from the beginning! kind of missing those, I used to keep poking them to make sure it was real ahahah

I keep all my fingers crossed that this time will go well...last time we had the bad news that I was going to miscarry when I was 8 weeks and went for an early private scan. It was the day we were planning to tell our families, based on the (limited) reassurance that we hoped would come from the early scan.

I will do the same this time...will go for a scan mid-june, then tell my parents. For friends, I will wait longer as I really don't want to give the news and then retreat, should anything go wrong again.

it's so fun to find someone with exactly the same dates :D

spttc · 24/05/2021 15:18

Omg @EsseKey that scares me! 🙈🙈🙈 Now I'm definitely waiting until after 12 weeks 😶 Scary

OP posts:
OttilieKnackered · 24/05/2021 15:38

@EsseKey Yes same. I’ve just completed my self-referral to the midwife! Despite being virtually middle aged this all feels terribly grown up to me.

EsseKey · 24/05/2021 15:55

Sorry ladies I didn't mean to scare you! This was just about my personal experience, I think it is good to hear all sorts of experiences, at least for me, but please don't let it ruin your excitement! :)

spttc · 24/05/2021 16:06

@EsseKey oh no you didn't! It's a scary time but fingers crossed all 3 of us have little ones by next Jan 30th (or thereabouts) 🤱🏻💕Are you getting your scan at 8 weeks again. I'm looking at booking one now you've said it 😂

OP posts:
EsseKey · 24/05/2021 16:34

Also, I think I will wait at least a week or so to do the self-referral to the midwife. Last time I did it immediately after I had the positive test because I was so excited to actually "do something" and tell someone Grin
and then, a part from the fact that I didn't really like the treatment when I called to self-refer, it felt like 10000000 years before I actually had the first midwife appointment (on the phone), and I didn't know when exactly that was going to be because I didn't get a confirmation, or a date or anything...just a vague "someone will be in touch around 8 wk pregnant" . So if I wait a bit this time, maybe the wait will be shorter ahahhah - I'm trying to pull all sorts of tricks to my brain to make the wait feel shorter...

EsseKey · 24/05/2021 16:38

@spttc yes I will definitely have one at 8wk if baby sticks around! I am not booking it yet because last time that they have plenty of appointments even at short notice, so I will wait until 7 wk or so to book, but it's fun to look around for places to go and what type of scan you can get etc... :)

bailey1802 · 24/05/2021 16:46

Hiya! Me too! I'm currently 6 weeks so think I would be due around 20th Jan!

Had a chemical pregnancy September last year and this is my second time falling so very very anxious and nervous!

Have had such bad nausea from 4 weeks though which I don't know if that's normal or not 😂

Congrats everyone! Here's to Jan babies🤞🏼 x

EsseKey · 24/05/2021 16:52

@bailey1802 nice to have another one on board! :) sorry for the chemical last year, fingers crossed this is the "no surprises" thread! I would say I'm sorry for your bad nausea, I actually am, but let's take it as a good sign ;)

Fraanne · 24/05/2021 17:41

Hi I’d love to join this thread! I’m 24 with endometriosis, adenomyosis and PCOS (yes I know unlucky!) we have been trying for baby no1 about 18 months, due to knowing it probably wouldn’t happen quickly! But after taking Clomid... I have found out I’m pregnant today!

Think I am about 4 weeks and 3/4 days! I’m so nervous and excited! Only symptoms are little twinges and cramps eek! Just want to get to 12 weeks 🤞🏼

spttc · 24/05/2021 17:43

Hi @bailey1802 nausea is a good sign apparently 😁🤞

Welcome @Fraanne & congratulations you must be elated after trying that long 🙌💕 Yippeee!

Hello! Can I join? 32 and 5wk1 day due approx 27th Jan.

I'm a bit apprehensive about joining groups as I have the utter fear of things going wrong as you say more on the negative side of pregnancy on MN.

Symptoms are sore boobs, extreme thirst, tiredness and today nausea. Was fine from lunchtime onwards then in Tesco there I felt so sick!!!

SemiFeralDalek · 24/05/2021 17:58

Is this strictly for first babies? This will be my third pregnancy, I have one living child, age 4 and one who left us at 21+4 last November.

I got a bfp last week but have been spotting on and off since Friday so not sure this is a sticky bean. Keeping my fingers crossed though.

OttilieKnackered · 24/05/2021 18:05

All welcome I’m sure @SemiFeralDalek You will have lots of wisdom to share from your previous pregnancies I’m sure. Wishing you all the best.

EsseKey · 24/05/2021 18:05

congrats to everyone and their pregnancy!
@ReginaaPhalange I absolutely understand the fear of joining groups - the good aspect of it is that you can be anonymous, no one here will judge you (at least this is my experience with the mumsnet forum in general) if you want to say something "weird" or if you just leave at any point because you don't want to be here for any reason!
I think it's more about sharing our own experiences, if and how we feel the need to :)

ReginaaPhalange · 24/05/2021 18:08

@EsseKey I agree.I just don't want to do anything to jinx this as we have tried for so long and this is my first time falling pregnant.

I have an early scan booked for 2 weeks so hopefully I get to that stage and all is fine!
