Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

@expectinglittlebear I have also had crushing headaches which started last week. I thought the 2nd trimester was meant to be fill of everything but I'm very lethargic and having to force exercise. Confused

EsseKey · 21/07/2021 08:59

@spttc I had Pfizer! I had it the day after I found out I was pregnant, so I was like 5 wk... I did panic a bit at first, but then I just stopped for a couple of minutes reminding myself of why I was doing that and what would be the reasons not to do it... and I went to get jabbed with no second thoughts! I think it's normal to be a little worried! But at this time there are even more pregnant people that have received the vaccine, and there are still no serious concerns that I am aware of :)

I had zero side effects a part from a sore arm in the inoculation site, for just a few hours.

I have my second dose today (I should be around 13wk now), just before my dating scan!

spttc · 21/07/2021 11:00

Thanks to the girls who had Pfizer for responding! @EsseKey @Jonesy88 @Tangfastic91 👍 yeh it's mad I'm very pro vaccine etc and if I wasn't pregnant literally wouldn't give it a second thought! It's like as it's grown closer I'm so petrified something would happen. I'll just have to think about it over the next few days. I'm laying low anyway keeping safe etc. it's such a nightmare the whole Covid thing.

@spttc it's absolutely understandable!!! take your time to think about it, and do what you are most comfortable with xx

sociallydistained · 21/07/2021 13:02

Oh guys I felt so ill yesterday. I would say heat exhaustion but I wasn’t in the sun all day or anything only went out when needed to. I felt so sick and had (TMI) the runs in a big way by the end of the day. Being extra cautious today but I’m at work and do have to be out in it at times. So glad we’ll be mostly at our heaviest in winter!

sociallydistained · 21/07/2021 13:03

PS I’m due second vaccine tomorrow. I’m a tad nervous and not sure how I’d be if I hadn’t had the first unknowingly whilst 3 weeks but may as well get the job done now. Covid rates are very high where I live and work at the moment.

expectinglittlebear · 21/07/2021 13:23

@spttc I can't offer any Pfizer advice unfortunately, I am choosing to get mine once baby is here. It is such a difficult decision isn't it! xx

@sociallydistained Oh bless you! Did you eat anything different the day before / that morning, that might not have agreed with you? x

sociallydistained · 21/07/2021 14:57

@expectinglittlebear that’s the thing I didn’t really eat anything since lunch and then had half a snack bar around 4pm that was it! By 6pm I was 🤢 just hoping not the same today because I’m working until 7 and I’m needing to be out in the heat this afternoon a bit 😬

thecapitalsunited · 21/07/2021 15:03

@sociallydistained That’s sound really horrible. I too suffer with the heat and it’s had a similar effect on my insides. I hope you are feeling better today.

Lovely DH went out a few days ago pretending that he had to run an errand and came back with a desk fan because he could see it was struggling with the heat. Then later on I stole the dog’s paddling pool. Best £15 I’ve spent for ages! I’m also thankful that we will be huge during the colder months.

I followed @Tangfastic91 example from last week and booked NCT classes. I looked at my hospital website for antenatal classes but all they had were videos and no mention of actual classes. DH worries about things so I think it will be very helpful for him to know a bit more about what to expect.

EsseKey · 21/07/2021 15:38

@sociallydistained so sorry you have been sick yesterday! I hope it's better today!

I had my 12wk scan today, everything looks good for now and I am so relieved! Baby was in an awkward position so the sonographer had to shake my belly and push with the probe quite a lot to make it move and take measurements and good pictures. Other than that it was an amazing experience 🥰

On the NHS website they mention free antenatal classes, but nothing more - any idea what these are, if they are available everywhere, or if it's just rubbish and it's better to look into something else?
I don't mind either way, but I still haven't read into antenatal classes at all so I have no idea!

Tangfastic91 · 21/07/2021 16:17

@essekey so happy to hear the news of your scan! Worth all that waiting!

Erinrose82 · 21/07/2021 16:32

Glad scan went well !
I had an infusion for several hours yesterday at the hospital... was boiling, veins weren't playing ball and so hot. I fainted and was sick. A rubbish day. Next one bank holiday in august 😞 I don't wish rain on a bank holiday but I hope it's not as hot !!!!

Alle1991 · 21/07/2021 16:41

@EsseKey so glad all went well with your scan

I’ve also had a terrible headache for the past 2 days, I just can’t shift it! There needs to be a good thunderstorm to clear the air.

I’m 50/50 about the vaccine. I said to the midwife I would consider it after my 12 week scan. I’ve got so many mixed messages from different people about what to do

thecapitalsunited · 21/07/2021 18:02

@EsseKey Glad you had a good scan. It’s amazing, isn’t it? My baby also had to have the prod treatment to get it in the right position. although it felt more like a punch to the gut!

happysam · 21/07/2021 21:29

Hi all! Shall I setup a FB group for all of us on this thread? Someone made one for a thread I was on with my first pregnancy and it's still going strong today. I've made some amazing friends through it x

sociallydistained · 21/07/2021 22:29

I would be up for joining. I am off Fb and have been for 7 months! But I shall be coming back with my news soon and I’ll stick around as I want to use marketplace for second hand stuff lol

EsseKey · 22/07/2021 01:10

Thanks everyone!
@Erinrose82 i hope you are feeling better now!
@happysam yup I am ok to join a fb group with you ladies

expectinglittlebear · 22/07/2021 09:38

@EsseKey Aww glad your scan went well lovely!! I've got mine this time tomorrow and I can't wait Grin

Got my booking blood results back yesterday (well the first half because they 'lost' the other half - so got to re do some tomorrow..). Anyway, turns out I have a rare blood type and I am Rhesus Negative which means lots more pokey needle jabs throughout (and possibly after) pregnancy for me so LO doesn't develop anaemia or jaundice when born. I believe they are called 'Anti-D' injections.

expectinglittlebear · 22/07/2021 09:42

@Erinrose82 Hope you're feeling better! Flowers

@Alle1991 I know what you mean, I believe there is meant to be thunderstorms this weekend, which would be amazing! A change in pressure is exactly what is needed. I was the same as you regarding the vaccine for a while, but I have decided against having it until baby is here (and then I will be first in line!). I am wearing a mask all the time apart from at home, and social distancing. Me and my partner work together anyway and the only place we really go other than work and home at the moment is to do the food shop, so can keep fairly isolated. BUT saying that, I am still keeping an eye on figures and everything, so if cases soar in my area, or I feel I am at a point where I could become vulnerable to catching it, I will definitely take a second think about getting the vaccine. It is such a hard decision to make, I applause everyone who is getting their vaccine in pregnancy, and in general... I am just not quite brave enough to do it myself yet!

EsseKey · 22/07/2021 09:52

@expectinglittlebear thanks 😊

Ah I also have a 'rare' (0) blood type and I am Rh negative, so I will need to get the Anti-D injections - I don't like it! But it didn't come as a surprise, I knew that already! 😬
I lost count of how many times in the past I have been called into the blood donation center because my (and my brother's) blood is compatible with everyone and there is always shortage of that! It's kind of the superstar of the blood types 😂

Erinrose82 · 22/07/2021 09:59

Thank you guys .. feeling incredibly better ! Just felt pathetically sorry for myself that day ! The heat isn’t helping any of us. Now I’m home with air conditioning I’m not sick at all and ashamed how moany I was . Hope everyone is coping and well. I’m definitely getting a bump ( or fat ) now, 12 + 5 xx

thecapitalsunited · 22/07/2021 12:26

My 12 weeks blood results appeared in the app this morning. Everything seems to be low risk so we’re going to go ahead and start telling people. No plans to do a big Facebook announcement just let our wider family know and generally not hide that I’m expecting.

Tangfastic91 · 22/07/2021 13:55

@thecapitalsunited yay I'm so pleased for you, I literally just got mine in the post. All low risk so that's one more worry ticked off the list!

thecapitalsunited · 22/07/2021 14:14

@Tangfastic91 That’s great news. I’m pleased for you too. It’s such a relief, isn’t it?

Here’s hoping everyone else on the thread awaiting results gets good results 🤞🏻
