Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

Hi all, I'm on quite a few threads but would like to join another! Due 25 Jan. 5weeks today and omg yes, the waking early and insane hunger has been going on a week now. I think it might be improving as I managed 6am today 🙈. Really struggling with morning food as I'm not a breakfast person at all.
My anxiety is sky high, and I might have to take myself off Mumsnet for a while. All I seem to hear/read is people with CPs and MMCs - please tell me some people are successful with first pregnancy!!

Hope everyone is feeling good :)

spttc · 25/05/2021 09:49

@Tangfastic91 Iv come to the conclusion that it seems like everyone has a chemical or a miscarriage first time because obviously people don't go to Mumsnet to tell the story of their uneventful first pregnancy 🤰🏻They also don't go to forums to talk about how it took them a few months to get pregnant & all went well etc. My period tracking app has a social section to it and looking at that I was seeing people who had been trying for a baby for 7 years etc etc. it seemed like every person was over a year trying, usually more, had had 4 miscarriages etc! I was so freaked out because I'm 35, first baby etc. I really felt OMG I will never have a baby if all these people younger than me are having so much trouble 😭 So much so I booked at a fertility clinic after 1 month trying! I was ready for ivf. I had accepted it. I got pregnant on cycle 4 ttc.

The fact is ... horrible things happen. People have miscarriages. Through no fault of their own. It just happens sometimes. It could be me, it could be you. But its important to remember that's the exception to the rule. More people don't have miscarriages than do 👌💕

@Tangfastic91 I understand the feeling, but I totally agree with @spttc

when ttc first time, I used to avoid these forums completely, I didn't find them useful because I could only see about people having miscarriages or struggling to conceive etc... it was sad and I was convinced I would never be able to have a baby, but at the same time it was very useful to acknowledge that miscarriage is a real possibility and when it happened to me, I could accept it more easily I guess than if I didn't know anything about other people experiences.

I actually had a miscarriage, and in that moment I understood why people would do that! You can still feel extremely lonely in this process, or maybe you don't want to annoy your friends/family with 24/7 pregnancy talk, or complaining about how unfair life is...which is honestly all you want to do in these moments and you need a safe place where people understand and not judge. So, I joined mumsnet and it really helped!

This is just to say that you find a lot of miscarriage stories because you are looking in the place where people post miscarriage stories...but with a wider look at the stats, the odds are still on our side :)

Tangfastic91 · 25/05/2021 10:03

@spttc and @EsseKey thanks both, I needed to hear that :)

spttc · 25/05/2021 10:06

@EsseKey exactly 👏 and you're speaking from experience. I'd say it's a hard thing to discuss with those close to you as it's just too upsetting etc but I could see talking about it with others who have been through it would be so helpful and comforting. Knowing you aren't alone etc 💔💕

But so important to remember it doesn't happen to everyone. It's always a possibility. It's nobody's fault. It just happens sometimes 💔 But ya just gotta cross your fingers and hope for the best 🤞

@Fraanne oh wow yeah I don't think I would have wanted to talk to them after that either! 😂

Kayl23 · 25/05/2021 10:32

@Tangfastic91 I know exactly how you feel! I already struggle with anxiety as it is so now that I'm pregnant it's just gone crazy. I also keep seeing stories about miscarriages etc and it's making things worse but I think what the others have just said is actually a really good way of looking at it. I had a very, very mild stabbing pain for about 10 seconds this morning and instantly took another pregnancy test cause I was convinced it meant the pregnancy was ending. My sister has two kids though and said it's completely normal to have slight pains and sensations in early pregnancy xx

bailey1802 · 25/05/2021 10:56

@Kayl23 Ah I'm the same hun. I have mild stitch like pains really low left side mainly at night but also randomly in the day but only for a couple of seconds, feels like I've been on a long jog! Lol. Hopefully its normal as didn't expect anything like that at 6 weeks.
Was sick this morning so trying to take that as a positive! 😂 x

Kayl23 · 25/05/2021 11:00

@bailey1802 oh really? Did it make you worry too at first? I just want these first 12 weeks out of the way so I can relax at least a little bit xx

bailey1802 · 25/05/2021 11:03

@Kayl23 Yeah I, can't help but worry every twinge!! Especially when you read so much about ectopic pregnancies etc. But, you just have to stay positive & see the other symptoms as everything is progressing. I just try worry & stress as little as possible as it's out of my hands. Positive thinking ☺️ 🤞🏼 xx

CityGirlintheCountry · 25/05/2021 11:04

Can I join please? 1st baby here, turning 38 in June (might be the oldest here?) 5 wk now, so due 28 Jan 2022. I go between feeling nothing, to excitement/joy to anxiety. And it started at 5.30am this morning yay -_-

No cravings or weird symptoms so far, but my mom had none (and a tiny bump at 9 mths) so hoping i'm the same! Can't wait to tell her, but we're waiting til 1st scan for fear of MC given my age...

Kayl23 · 25/05/2021 11:31

@bailey1802 Very true... it's all out of our control really isn't it! Think I might print out some positive mantras and stick them on my walls haha xx

spttc · 25/05/2021 11:35

@bailey1802 I have those too! Low left side! Just every now and again. Maybe twice a day. For a second. Google says normal 👌

Welcome @CityGirlintheCountry 👋 to have a small bump is the dream isn't it 🤞😂 i think I'm going to wait the full 12 weeks before telling anyone too. Including my parents. Just in case. I think breaking any bad news of a miscarriage for example would make the experience even harder. So il be waiting until after 1st scan 👌

Me too! I'm due 25th Jan. First pregnancy. Had some worrying symptoms last night and really feeling pretty anxious now, but still holding onto all the hope that a little heart is forming in there right now.

ChelleV · 25/05/2021 11:44

Should've put this in my prior one!

My partner and I will be telling his parents this weekend, mostly so that we have some support if there is a miscarriage. We've booked a 6 week heartbeat scan as I know the risks decrease a lot too once that's done, and after that it'll be telling my sisters, but after that we'll be waiting for the full 12 weeks. I don't want to wish the time away but it's also so hard!

ChelleV · 25/05/2021 11:50

We have the same due date! Although I'm sure one of ours will change with time. It's my first pregnancy too. I know 2 first time mums who had successful first time pregnancies with gorgeous babies in the last year, so there's definitely hope!

I kinda wish I had the waking early everyone is on about, I'm just too tired to get up! But I am very hungry. Breakfast this morning was leftover stuffing. I've usually been having smoothies in the option though and sipping them, that's really helped (Innocent Bolt from the Blue is the flavour of the week, thought I'd treat myself)

bailey1802 · 25/05/2021 12:22

@Kayl23 Haha yeah do it! I did this with my phone wallpaper, look at positive quotes all day that way 😂 every little helps lol xx

@spttc Ah glad to hear someone in the same boat! Mine are only a couple of times a day too and only for a couple of seconds, but as it's not "bad" pain I'm trying to not worry at all ☺️ xx

spttc · 25/05/2021 12:30

@bailey1802 exactly. I wouldn't say pain really. Like a little pinch almost. I'm not worried! You shouldn't either 👌 I think if I felt nothing I'd be more concerned as to be fair there's a lot going on in there 😁

DaisyBlu · 25/05/2021 13:02

@Tangfastic91 my first pregnancy was successful ( my 2 year old ). I had an early miscarriage back in March but I didn't have symptoms - my symptoms this time are just like ( well actually stronger than ) my first pregnancy

ReginaaPhalange · 25/05/2021 13:13

@spttc aww don't say that please as I've had no cramping the last couple of days

spttc · 25/05/2021 13:59

@ReginaaPhalange you're a week ahead of us though! We probably won't have any either in a day or so! I'm only 11dpo (4weeks 2 days). You have other symptoms too with being hungry, waking early etc. I don't have those 🤷🏻‍♀️

OP posts:
Tangfastic91 · 25/05/2021 14:43

@ReginaaPhalange my cramps have definitely improved (less of them) over the last day or 2. I'm going with this being normal because otherwise it will be a loooong 8 months!

bailey1802 · 25/05/2021 16:02

Just wondering if anyone's had a UTU during pregnancy. Only reason I ask is because sometimes when I pee I have such a sharp pain low low down, feels like my bladder rather than baby related. Can only describe it like I've pulled a muscle - weird as I don't have any other UTI symptom, doesn't burn & I don't need to go frequent ?

Maybe I'll pop doctors tomorrow.

Starbucked · 25/05/2021 16:35

Hi can I join too? I'm around 5+4, due 21 Jan, first ever pregnancy and 36yo. Totally relating to the AM hunger. OMG the hunger. And nausea. At the same time, all day today, unless I am actually eating. Joining as I'm googling everything obsessively and obviously need an outlet! Never actually joined a forum thing before, makes me nervous!

EsseKey · 25/05/2021 17:39

Hi @Starbucked - this is my first forum too, no reason to be nervous, it is actually nice to have a place where you can actually talk 24/7 about pregnancy because this is what we are here for :D I wouldn't do it with my partner or friends, now because they still don't know (I mean the friends, daddy obviously knows... :P ), and later because understandably they will also like to have other topics of conversation... Grin

I am still not having huge symptoms...still waiting for the boobies to wake up ahahah last time they were the first telling me that something was going on! now I still have little cramps, and random mild nausea moments... According to my last period I should also be 5+2, but I know for sure I ovulated at least 1 week later than average, so I am counting it as I were 4+2...so due 30/31 Jan
