@thecapitalsunited good to hear all is low risk, are you using the badgernotes app?

Nothing seems to be updated on mine since my booking appointment.

I went for my second vaccine today and when asked if I could be pregnant I said yes I am and explained I had the first without knowing. The lady said we’re just having a doctor talk to all pregnant ladies. I was a bit nervous then like should I be having this? But the doctor was lovely absolutely made me feel it was the right thing and so fingers crossed I don’t feel crap! (Already do in this weather lol)
@EsseKey Aww glad your scan went well lovely!! I've got mine this time tomorrow and I can't wait Grin

Got my booking blood results back yesterday (well the first half because they 'lost' the other half - so got to re do some tomorrow..). Anyway, turns out I have a rare blood type and I am Rhesus Negative which means lots more pokey needle jabs throughout (and possibly after) pregnancy for me so LO doesn't develop anaemia or jaundice when born. I believe they are called 'Anti-D' injections.
I am Rhesus negative too. I knew this though and I told my midwife when she took my bloods lol. I had my booking Sunday before last and my scan last Thursday and haven’t heard a thing back yet.

Do you know your DPs blood type as if you are both neg than baby will be and you won’t need the injection. Mine is positive 🙄 I was told at the next scan they’ll take babies blood and then if it’s neg nothing needs to happen but if positive I will have anti-D. Fully prepared for it to be positive lol.

@Alle1991 Yes, BadgerNotes. It doesn’t seem like the best app in the world and it does seem to rely a lot on someone remembering to press the right thing to publish to the app. You also don’t get any notification of updates so you have to check it twenty times a day frequently if you are expecting an update. When I was checking for my blood results I discovered that my next appointment had been moved but no one has actually bothered to let me know.

@sociallydistained When I had my second jab (I had the first before we conceived) I also had to speak to a doctor first too. But they were a bit crap and kept telling me that they couldn’t tell me whether it was the right thing to do. So I kept repeating that I had walked in to the clinic because I wanted to get the jab! Mine was AZ so they were maybe being more careful but I was following the advice given by the NHS.

expectinglittlebear · 22/07/2021 14:41

@thecapitalsunited @Tangfastic91 That's great news for you both! xx

@sociallydistained Ahh there are a few of us that are negative then! That makes me feel a bit better about it, I was worried it was like a super rare thing!! I have no idea what blood group my DH is, but I guarantee it is positive.. he is awkward like that Grin Grin

sociallydistained · 22/07/2021 14:47

It’s definitely a rarer and pain in the arse blood group lol. My mum knew my blood type anyway but I had it confirmed when giving blood and they are always in need to Rhesus Neg! I always wonder if my blood group has anything to do with how bloody cold I get in the winter. Practically turn blue! Hoping baby might keep me warmer this winter? 😬

Ah so Badger notes probably has my details! I think I’ll ring my surgery as I still don’t have access to Badger notes because my midwife didn’t know my access code. I have literally no information and not even contact for my midwife. Will give my surgery a call!

EsseKey · 22/07/2021 15:22

never met so many Rh- people ahahah not that it is something that I normally ask when I meet someone though...😂

I have no idea what DP is, he doesn't know and didn't want to ask his mum until we were ready to tell about the baby...and then we forgot! I will ask her if she knows the next time I talk to her (she is calling/texting me daily to check on me... 😱)

Anyway yesterday I told a friend about the pregnancy, and we had a super fun talk! She had a baby in Jan 2021, and she was telling me how great it is to have a January baby! I think she kept talking and listing the benefits of having a Jan baby for 20 min straight ....and all I could think about was that it is a bit of a dull month to have birthday parties (DP and I were both winter babies) 😂😂😂

EsseKey · 22/07/2021 15:30

I am starting to tell people at work (other than my line manager, she knew already)...I kind of feel it's a bit too early (and none of their business!) but my manager made a good point that since my team is quite small, the prospect of my pregnancy leave could give a good steer towards an additional recruit that we really need... so I decided to drop the bomb! I got some lovely reactions, but also some bureaucracy to start and fill in (risk assessments and stuff)... having the HR involved it's a bit scary, everything feels so real and I am not sure I feel ready!

We are shortly going to max out this thread, so ive started a new one for us :) I've tagged you all - hope I haven't forgotten anyone!
