Anyone 6 weeks too?!

Hi! I found out I was pregnant nearly a week ago and wondering if anyone around the same due date (15th Jan 2022) would want to keep each other updated on symptoms etc this is my first and I'm so excited!

Morning ladies.. feeling very emotional this morning. Had a good sleep, woke up desperate for a wee as usual. But when I wiped.. I had light pink/orange spotting wiped a few more times and it slowed. Checked again 5mins later still a little then stopped. Havent checked again yet. Obviously ran downstairs in tears to Dh. Luckily he was still here before he left for work. Sp hes staying home today. Going to ring EPU.. been scouring google for positive stories at this stage which seems like it can be just a thing.. but due to my previous history of mc I am worried/sad/tearful. I will have to wait until EPU opens and hope they will scan me today xx keep your fingers crossed for me xx

@Snoopy28x Hey, so sorry to hear you're having a rubbish day. I have heard that it's pretty common at this stage? But definitely get checked by EPU for reassurance. Have you spoke to them yet?? (Sorry, only just saw your message) xx

@Confused678866 well I rang them this morning first thing but havent heard back. I havent had any more spotting since this morning (been to the toilet to check every 5mins!!) I have been reading and alot says if its pink/brown then it's usually nothing to worry about. Dh is worried keeps telling me to chase them up. Ive rang a few times and always goes to answer machine so just going to wait it out. I've still got my symptoms which I feel is a good sign. With my mcs I lost symptoms and had red bleeding.

So it's a waiting game I guess! Xx

@Snoopy28x That's a bit poor though, they should have had you in by now.
It's good that the spotting has stopped and it wasn't bright red.
Would you consider a private scan if you don't hear from EPU? Just to put your mind at ease? Xx

@Confused678866 I was just looking at private scans. That is an option. The epu are open until 5pm so maybe if they do call they might book me for one on Monday? If not I might look at the private scan. I feel like this one is gonna keep me on my toes! X

@Snoopy28x I just don't understand why they haven't got back to you.. what did they say when you called?
Yeah private scan is definitely worthwhile to put your mind at ease but EPU should be seeing you in my opinion.

@Confused678866 I tried 5 or 6 times but straight to voicemail. It said leave a message and number and they will call you back as soon as they are free. So I said that I was 9 weeks and had spotting and left my name and number. Last time they got back to me within an hour or 2. Been on a high alert all day! My phone rang earlier and I nearly jumped out of my skin! It was only my dd pre school asking something about my ds admission forms lol

Yes fingers crossed it doesn't! It's such a scary sight when your not expecting it. It was super light pink/pale orange sort of colour. Hoping it may just been one of those things as placenta starts taking over and hormones are changing etc. X

@Snoopy28x Ahh I see. Would be good if they could give you a call back soon though.
Yes I can imagine, it's hard to relax at the best of times isn't it!
Yes you could be right actually.. I had a bit of bleeding in my last pregnancy, I think I was around 16 weeks maybe. The blood was brown so I guess old blood.. I booked a private scan in the end I think (didn't even know to call EPU) and all was well and it really did put my mind at ease.
The colour of yours sounds okay too. I hope you get a call back soon or private scan and then you can relax xx

@Confused678866 well no word back from epu. I sent my midwife a message asking if its something I should be concerned about. So I'll see what she says. She only works a few days a week as she retired then came back part time.

It's all such a stressful time isnt it, every twinge and symptom you over analyse and google! I think I'm just going to see how the weekend goes. Take it easy and then see what my midwife says on monday.

@Snoopy28x So sorry that EPU didn't get back to you. Yes I think you've probably done the right thing, wait to hear from you midwife.
Hoping you haven't had anymore spotting?
It is stressful and you just can't help but overthink every little thing! It's natural I guess isn't it.

@Confused678866 I went for a wee a few times in the night and still nothing. So think it was maybe just one of those weird normal things, sent to freak you out lol

My back aches today, I think I just slept like a log and didnt move!

Well I had a pretty rubbish weekend really. Dont really know why, I am super emotional and snappy. Dd is poorly and very grumpy. It's been so hot both kids havent got to bed until late. So very grumpy.

I was fine until last night.. a little bit of red blood. Just when I wiped then nothing. So went to bed terrified of what I would wake up to. This morning just a little orangey/pink spotting. I've left another message for EPU. I'm really hoping they can scan me today. I just need to know whats happening as feel like bursting into tears constantly.. xx

@Confused678866 due to go away on friday for a long weekend at the coast. So that's worrying me to. I think if my midwife or epu dont get back to me I'll book a private scan x

@Snoopy28x Hey. Oh no, sorry to hear you've had a rubbish weekend. The heat is tricky with little ones isn't it! Sorry to hear your Dd isn't well, hope she picks up soon.

I really think EPU should get back to you ASAP or your midwife.. honestly, if it was me, I think I'd just book a private scan. I know it's costly and you shouldn't have to do it but I think you need your mind to put at ease as the stress won't help you. Definitely get something sorted before you go away. We go away in less than 2 weeks and I'm having another private scan before we go as my 12 week scan isn't until just after we get back.

@Confused678866 well I just got a voicemail from epu and my phone didnt even ring!!! They said if I still need them call back ...! So I've left another message. And am waiting about in the kitchen where the signal is better.

I hope they will scan me today. I just need to know. I'm not usually an emotional person but I cried twice yesterday because I was so tired and the kids wouldnt sleep until gone 10pm. My dh is at work and I cant call him until his break at 11. So my sister is on standby to come and have the kids if they will scan me x

@Snoopy28x Oh that's annoying! Hopefully they call you back soon.
You've got a lot on your shoulders though so it's hard not to get emotional. I'm sure everything will be fine.
Glad you have you sister on standby for you. If they can't scan you today, will you just book a private scan instead? Xx

@Confused678866 well my midwife got back to me. She said that at around this time the little sac that baby implanted in comes away and can cause a little spotting. She said that 40% of her ladies get that and its usually a good sign. She said that she thinks I'm on the right side of things. She said that I could book a private scan to put my mind at ease but she said it's still no guarantee because what happens tomorrow or the day after etc..

I'm not sure if she rang me instead of the epu.. or if they will still get back to me.

@Snoopy28x Oh right okay that makes sense then. How many weeks are you now?
We'll see if EPU call you anyway and they might just offer to scan you and you may as well go if they do xx

@Confused678866 I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow. Its all just so worrying! I feel like I'm constantly going to the toilet to check.. feel like I could burst into tears at any given moment. Managed not to when talking to the midwife. Especially when she said try not to worry..!

@Snoopy28x I know what you mean, it must be difficult. I think that's why I'd book a private scan. I know it isn't any guarantee for future days but maybe it would help you relax a little? X

@Confused678866 yeah I think I need to know. I've got a weird sort of stingy pain on my right, like when you ovulate!? Have you had that? X

@Snoopy28x Yes I think maybe speak to EPU again and if no joy, don't get stressed about that, just book a private one and go and check it all out. I've had little niggles/pains/cramps on and off. I had a prominent pain a couple of weeks ago, more like stitch. I just put it all down to stretching etc xx

@Confused678866 argh epu just rang and left a message again!!! I've rang back again and my phone is not moving from the kitchen. Everytime I call them its straight to voicemail
