Hi! I found out I was pregnant nearly a week ago and wondering if anyone around the same due date (15th Jan 2022) would want to keep each other updated on symptoms etcSmile this is my first and I'm so excited!

Confused678866 · 03/06/2021 10:31

@Snoopy28x Oh no really? That's a shame. I thought it had changed?? I haven't heard anything yet. Im glad I have my private scan booked now as partner can attend those. My SIL had a baby last year and she attended a of her scans alone I think.. so she booked a couple of private ones so her partner could go with her. I think we'll do the same if we're told that he can't come to the NHS ones, I think it's important for them to be there! Like you say, helps with the bonding experience for them xx

Snoopy28x · 03/06/2021 11:56

@Confused678866 so all booked in! My midwife is so lovely she remembered me from my ds. Shes booked me for blood tests tomorrow. Then the scan dates will come through the post. Shes booked me 4 extra scans to measure growth and glucose test. Due to my chunky little man! So feel like I'll be in and out of that hospital alot!!

I checked and partners can come to scans now!!! So I'm happy about that xx

Confused678866 · 03/06/2021 12:03

@Snoopy28x Glad you're all booked in! Oh that's lovely, I think it's nice if you get along with your midwife. My previous midwife was pretty nice and I used to have my appointments at my GP practice with her so not sure if I'll end up with her again as I don't know if she still works there.
Your midwife sounds great too, booking your bloods and booking for you for extra growth scans - fab!
Oh I'm so glad your partner can go! I'm hoping it's the same across the country 🤞🏻 so hopefully my partner will be able to come too xx

Snoopy28x · 03/06/2021 12:43

@Confused678866 yes shes lovely. She retired after my last but is back a few days a week. Shes so easy to chat to. She said partners cant come to midwife apps but scans are fine and they dont need to test. Its tricky to find people to have the kids for me while I've got the apps my partner is self employed so doesnt get paid if hes off, my sister is a massive help and is currently wfh but I dont like to keep asking! I guess my Dh will have to have a bit of time off for some of it. X

Confused678866 · 03/06/2021 13:24

@Snoopy28x Yes I know what you mean, it's tricky isn't it. My partner is self employed too and very rarely takes any time off due to losing money! We haven't told anyone I'm pregnant so it's hard to get anyone to look after my little one. We originally planned a private scan for tomorrow after I finish work as my little one will be at my MIL's anyway so we would have got away with that one but I ended up changing the scan to next Tuesday so I was hopefully past the 8 week mark.. I've booked the day off work, little one will be at nursery and partner will have a couple of hours off. Xx

Snoopy28x · 03/06/2021 13:41

@Confused678866 ooh exciting! You'll see your little one soon! Yes it's hard also because It will be summer holidays when I've got some apps then I need childcare for 2 of them. Which is hard going when your not used to it lol

I keep forgetting I'm pregnant lol do you?? Apart from the weeing constantly and tiredness etc, I've not got any horrendous side effects. So I think I sort of have to remind myself every now and then lol x

Confused678866 · 03/06/2021 13:52

@Snoopy28x Yes, I really can't wait.. I feel like I've been waiting so long haha. Yeah I know what you mean, it's tough isn't it.. especially with two of them.
I moan about nursery fees but it does help at the moment when I know he will be at nursery and I can just pop to an appointment and book the time off work!

Haha yes I'm the same.. I haven't had too many side effects either. I felt sick on and off but that's not too bad now, tiredness has eased a little but I'm always tired anyway with a little one. My boobs hurt and that's been the main one for me really that's been pretty much constant. I think as well, because we haven't seen baby on a scan yet, I have to remind myself constantly as it still doesn't feel real! Xx

Snoopy28x · 04/06/2021 06:58

@Confused678866 yes I think nursery is good for them. My dd is at pre school 3 days a week then starts school in sept Shock so not ready for that, every time I think about it I well up lol think that's my hormones coming into play. My ds will start in sept a few mornings. Which will be good timing as I'm sure by then I will need a few hours rest Grin

My boobs have got massive! My nipples are a bit sensitive but not as bad as earlier on. Ive got a lot of water retention, my hands and feet are all puffy, the midwife said it's nothing to worry about and the heat could be making that worse. If I put my feet up they feel all tingly like when you've been walking round somewhere all day. I've not had cravings as such but I do get certain things I think ooh yeah I want that. I went through a mashed potato faze!

I have my blood tests today, she wants me to get weighed and do the oxygen measuring thing.. where you blow into that device. Oh and the standard urine test xx

Snoopy28x · 04/06/2021 06:58

@bethabean morning! How are you doing today? X

bethabean · 04/06/2021 09:04

@Snoopy28x

Morning!! I'm okay thank you. Work has been so stressful so I'm worried it's going to have an impact on the pregnancySadhave been having cramps which I'm not sure is normal! Also waiting for someone to call me about my first appointment so I'm anxious that's not getting sorted! Think I am just a ball of anxiousness at the moment Grin

Been craving lasagne too which was a weird oneGrin

OP posts:
Confused678866 · 04/06/2021 09:07

@Snoopy28x Yes it is good for them, just a shame it's so so expensive and it feels pointless working!
Yes that's great timing, you'll definitely be in need of a rest by then!

It's funny you've said that, I woke up in the middle of the night and my hands were swollen, couldn't get my engagement ring off 😳 and it's usually a little loose! I'll mention to midwife on Sunday. Ooooh mashed potato is a favourite of mine anyway 😂

Good luck for today! I'll be useless at the oxygen thing.. being an asthmatic and riddled with hay fever at the moment, my chest is terrible! I have to do peak flow tests regularly for my asthma, and they're never that great Xx

Snoopy28x · 04/06/2021 09:40

@bethabean is this your first pregnancy? I feel like it's just the start of the constant worry you have for your children when they are born lol

cramping is normal I had it alot up to 6 weeks. It's all to do with your uterus stretching and growing and everything shifting about to make space for baby. You'll get alot of weird and wonderful aches and pains as things progress!

Sorry to hear work is stressful for you. When I was pregnant with my 1st I got told we were being made redundant shortly after I found out I was pregnant. So spend the majority of my pregnancy in a very highly stressful environment where my whole team were being got rid of! So I feel for you I really do. Try (I know easier said than done) to not let it get to you. Just keep thinking you'll be on mat leave soon enough and it will suddenly become irrelevant xx

How many weeks are you? X

Snoopy28x · 04/06/2021 09:45

@Confused678866 yes I agree way to expensive!! Thats mostly why I havent gone back to work yet as I would just be covering childcare and it does seem crazy.

Yeah I've not been able to wear my ring for a few days! I tried putting it on then freaked because it was tight managed to get it back off lol today seems a bit better as its cooling down. Was still puffy this morning! Yeah mashed potato is yum!

Snap! I also have asthma and suffering badly with hayfever!!! I did get something yesterday it's like a balm that you put under your nose and it traps pollen!? Anything's worth a try haha I am blowing my nose constantly and dh says I'm snoring to lol makes me feel breathless and more exhausted I think to.

I am already aneamic, have been pretty much since my dd. My level in March was 23.. dr says anything under 100 makes you feel rubbish 🤪 so could be on iron tablets for a while!! X

Confused678866 · 04/06/2021 15:29

@Snoopy28x Yes it's extortionate... it will cost me even more when the second one is here!

Ooh I'll look out for that ad I'm desperate to try anything, hay fever is driving me insane. I'm constantly blowing my nose too!! 😤

Oh gosh, that's very low isn't it!! I don't have a clue about myself to be honest.. hopefully I'll get bloods appointment through soon. Booking appointment on Sunday - was yours over the phone did you say?? Xx

Snoopy28x · 04/06/2021 21:10

@Confused678866 yes mine was over the phone. About 45mins ish. Well had my bloods done, weight, height, blood pressure and the oxygen thingy. She said the results should take a week and they will call if any issues.

I have been truly exhausted today. Ds took an absolute age to get down tonight. If you leave the room to soon he is up at his gate crying lol so it's a tricky process!! Xx

Confused678866 · 04/06/2021 21:25

@Snoopy28x Yes they did say it would be a long appointment. I've got to sit upstairs when I have mine while partner stays downstairs with my little one! That's good, glad you've got everything done. I can't even remember what the bloods are for? My last pregnancy feels like so long ago!

My little one has taken ages too.. he's never been a great sleeper and was never any good at self settling but then one day, he mastered it and it made life so much easier! But he's gone back to not wanting to do it so I end up sitting in his room until he's dropped off and then I have to creep out too 😂 he's still in a cot though so he can't get out but he soon shouts!!
It's tiring isn't it 😴 xx

Snoopy28x · 04/06/2021 21:44

@Confused678866 jealous!!! Mines had the sides off his cot since he was 18 months. He just kept hooking his leg over and trying to chuck himself out! So makes for an interesting time when hes in and out of his cot. He has always had sleep issues. Even from a baby he couldnt sleep unless on us or in his bouncer. Couldnt lay him flat or he was sick due to his reflux. Then would be up multiple times during the night. Only in the last 3 weeks has he started to sleep through!!

I think they go through another sleep regression around 2 years old which could explain it. Hopefully it doesnt last to long lol

Yeah I'm not sure what the bloods are for either. I know they check iron but not sure what else! C

Confused678866 · 05/06/2021 06:16

@Snoopy28x I'm surprised myself that he's still in it to be honest! We're moving house soon (hopefully), just waiting for all loose ends to be tied up.. then we will be putting him into a single bed. I'm not looking forward to it 😂

Oh bless him, that must have been hard! My little one didn't suffer with anything like that but just want a great sleeper in general. He's started sleeping through recently too but he was poorly so that threw it out of the window but the last couple of nights he's slept through again 🤞🏻 just wakes up super early 😳

Have my booking appt tomorrow so hopefully I'll find out when my bloods etc will be done xx

Snoopy28x · 05/06/2021 06:56

@Confused678866 mines been up since 5am Confused its gonna be a long day. He then went running in to try and wake his sister up. Luckily she stayed asleep until 6.30. Yawn.

Ooh good luck with the house move, hopefully it gets sorted soon for you.

I'm starting to get a bump already! Usually I'm bloated by the end of the day and it's gone down by morning but this morning I've actually got a bump. This is pregnancy 5 for me (2 previous mc) so maybe that's why!? X

Confused678866 · 05/06/2021 07:26

@Snoopy28x Oh dear 🙈 this is what I always wonder about when I've got two! My little one got up at 5:45, pretty good for him! I was asleep by 9pm last night though 🤣 so don't feel too bad! We have our nephews birthday party today so it's going to be a busy one!!

Thank you, yes I really hope it's soon.. we sold at the end of Jan!

Oh sorry to hear about your MC's. They do say that you show quicker if you've had babies before so I wouldn't be surprised. I'm super bloated by the end of each day but I'm still fairly flat in the mornings. I bloat though as soon as I eat! So it's been interesting at work and trying to keep it under wraps after lunchtime 😳 xx

Snoopy28x · 05/06/2021 07:50

@Confused678866 haha yeah I keep wearing baggy tops if I have to see someone who doesn't know yet. Hopefully they just think its lockdown weight haha

It is a whole different ball game having 2 lol there is 2.5 years between and they are so cute together. They snuggle up when they first get up and they play little games together. Dd needs to learn to be less rough with him though she forgets he is smaller, although now he gives as good as he gets lol I tend to play referee alot of the day! Dd sleeps really well so nothing stops her getting her 12 hours!!

Ooh good luck with the party today. Make sure you get cake! Going to try and get everyone out for a nice walk today, even the dog. Wear them all out haha it's been a long half term week Confused

bethabean · 06/06/2021 18:41

@Snoopy28x I'm just over 8 weeks now so I'm hoping everything is okay. The anxiety isn't helped by the fact my booking appointment isn't arranged yet. This is my first pregnancy so everything is so new and unknown! X

OP posts:
Confused678866 · 06/06/2021 19:16

@Snoopy28x Hey! Snap - trying to wear baggy tops/dresses too!

Yeah I think it'll be a shock to the system having two! There will be about 2yrs 9m between them.

The party was fab, just so so hot! Hope you got out for the walk and wore them family out.

Had my booking appt this morning.. all good. Just have to wait for my 12 week scan and I think I have to wait to be called for bloods too xx

Snoopy28x · 06/06/2021 19:24

@bethabean maybe chase up with your gp see if they have a contact number for your midwife so you can chase your booking appointment.

Yes it is a crazy thing to experience isnt it? How are your symptoms?

Ive been so so so tired this weekend! And today I felt so sick. I hope that doesnt stick around. Managed to avoid sickness with the other 2 pregnancies.

Are you hoping for a boy or girl? Xx

Snoopy28x · 06/06/2021 19:28

@Confused678866 yes we got out for a lovely walk round a massive lake. Was hot!! Stumbled across some sheep and a lovely little church on an island. Kids loved it.

I found going from 1 to 2 actually not to bad. They just sort of slot in. It's like riding a bike all comes back to you. It's the lack of sleep while you've got a toddler which I found harder. Baby sleeps then toddler wants attention. My dd was really good with the baby, helping to get nappies and loved cuddles with him. The first few weeks are manic until you fall into a routine then it's fine! It's so nice when they get older and play together. My dd mothers ds, tells him what they are going to play etc lol

Been feeling sick today, first time I've felt like that. Hope that doesnt last!! X
