Hi ladies I hope u don't mind me re joining as I tried to post in last group but it said it was closed Confused was pretty annoyed as I had wrote a huge speil but hey ho!😂😂 Anyway I hope all you ladies are keeping well we had an early scan at 9 weeks and everything seem ok so 🤞it stays this way!. How are all you ladies keeping? For the most part I've had mild nausea which is a refreshing change as my previous pregnancies I've had hg which was horrific especially my last pregnancy with my 14 month old DD 😳.
Any of you ladies having cravings yet, mine seems to be fruit and by the bucket load 😅
Hope you all don't mind me joining back into the group and a HH 9 months to you all Flowers.

Drumstick1223 · 24/03/2021 09:48

Thanks @Kona84 for the new thread.

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 welcome and congrats! Sounds like you're having a good pregnancy and always good to get an early scan in. How many other kids do you have? I've just got a little girl at 14 months. I'm so tired all the time. How do you cope with more than one and being pregnant? Hats off to you!!

I have my 12 week scan later today, I'm only 10.5 weeks and I know that might be ok but I'm hoping they do want to scan me again because I would like to know closer to 12 weeks that everything is ok before I tell more people.

sargeantsaltnpepper89 · 24/03/2021 10:04

Hi @Drumstick1223 thank you💖 I had an early scan as due to breastfeeding I thought I was further along but turns out I'm 10 weeks, they did say they would get me back as there wasn't much they could measure etc but could see heartbeat which was very reassuring.
For the most part am not that tired during the day thankfully 😅 otherwise I don't think I would be able to cope 🙈my last pregnancy with dd was horrendous and by this stage I had set up permanent camp on the sofa as I could barely function let alone do anything useful, so I welcome the change with open arms 🤣 I mostly tired at night poor DH will suggest watching something in the evening and within 10 15 minutes am out Grin I have two DC my eldest is at school for most of the day so that definitely helps and at an age were they are very independent so I really am lucky that way although we're at that stroppy stage so swings and roundabouts 😂😂hope you're keeping well💖 and good luck for your scan 🤞we haven't told anyone as yet trying to get as much weeks past as I can before I say anything otherwise I find with the constant questions from everyone in family I begins to drag😂last pregnancy I wanted till second trimester and some didn't even know till she was born and it was a dream !!😅🤣🤣.

Drumstick1223 · 24/03/2021 10:10

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 I am the same, still breastfeeding and only had first period late December, so my dates are all over the place. I'm 10.5 weeks going by two early scans, two weeks apart showing two weeks growth. But by lmp I should be 12.5 weeks. I do think I ovulated late and 10.5 weeks makes more sense as to when we dtd... how are you finding breastfeeding and pregnancy? I'm worried my milk has taken a dip but she's still mad for the boobs, especially during the night. She's also teething with molars. So normally we feed lying down and she drops straight off, her latch is so shallow lying down due to the molars I'm guessing, that I need to sit up to feed her so feeling exhausted.

That's good you're feeling a lot better this pregnancy and got some energy. I'm hoping the second trimester brings more energy.

I've only told my mum and sister and my partners dad and sisters who are all sworn to secrecy. I just couldn't keep it secret from my mum who is in my bubble.

SECNAA · 24/03/2021 10:36

Me 🙋‍♀️ I’m due 31st oct so only just make it in 😂
Very stressed due to previous mmc. This will be our first all going well and I’m 41, ( higher risk as old 😂😂) Only mild symptoms so far which stresses me even more, stress when they come and then when they go thinking something is going wrong 🙄
No signs at all of any problems so just trying to keep positive.
Going to book a private scan for next week when I’ll be 9w4d 🤞

Drumstick1223 · 24/03/2021 11:31

Hi @SECNAA, welcome! I hope you are keeping well. Sorry to hear about previous loss. I've had a mmc in the past and I totally understand how anxious it can make your pregnancy. This is my second baby and I still feel the nerves I did with the first following my mmc. The scan will put your mind at ease. Symptoms can come and go, especially as you live closer to the end of your first trimester. Not sure what your local EPU is like, but they're normally lovely and supportive and some will offer you an early reassurance scan following a mmc, so may be worth checking out if you haven't already.

Welcome to the madness here, it's a great supportive group and congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️

SECNAA · 24/03/2021 11:47

@Drumstick1223 ah thanks. I’ve had my first apt with the midwife. I mean she was nice enough but didn’t ask how I was feeling and really dismissed the previous mmc as a concern. She told me the very earliest I can have my scan is at 12+5 otherwise they’d just have to do another later on, and suggested a private scan if I was worried (which I was planning anyway 🙄)

Just reading thru different posts on here has helped my stress levels so will try to keep positive 🤞

Jl2020 · 24/03/2021 13:05

Hi girls, so glad a new thread was started as just went to post on the old one and couldn't lol. Welcome to the new ladies too!

@Drumstick1223 hope everything goes ok at your scan today if you haven't already had it:)

I'm now 9 weeks still haven't heard from a midwife about a booking appointment and with only two days of nausea and only very mild other symptoms my anxiety is getting worse and worse knowing I'm getting closer to having a scan.
Was also wondering what is the harmony test I seen people in the previous chat talking about?

Anyway hope everyone's doing ok today! :)

nevergiveuptrying · 24/03/2021 14:18

Hi ladies, I don’t have much symptoms and had several mmc, so I can related to your worries. I just had a scan and could see strong heartbeat. I think ultrasound is an effective way to calm us down in this uncertain time...

Can I know a bit more about the harmony test? It seems quite expensive £500+ and not sure if the NHS 12-week scan would be sufficient? Your thoughts are very welcome! Thank you!

MustStopSnacking28 · 24/03/2021 14:47

Hello everyone, I am cautiously joining after a private scan yesterday which showed I am 11 weeks now and everything looked ok so hoping it continues. I had a MMC in October 2020 which was then confirmed as a molar pregnancy so I am very nervous and I think will continue to be until hopefully have the baby! I have one DS who is nearly 3. Hope you’re all feeling ok, I feel like I have been hit by a bus most days. So tired it’s just horrendous!

Drumstick1223 · 24/03/2021 15:16

Hi all, just had my scan and measuring 10+3 which is sport on from my two private scans. Very pleased. They do want to scan me again, they said I need to be 11+3 to do the 12 week tests. Due to Easter they're fully booked so think my next appt will be at 13+3. A wee bonus scan which is always good. Pic below though it's not the clearest, seen a wee strong heartbeat ❤️

Drumstick1223 · 24/03/2021 15:20

@SECNAA yes I have found my midwives quite indifferent to worries and concerns. I think some of them just get so used to seeing it and hearing it all day that its maybe hard to empathise. You can bypass your midwife if you wanted it and ring your epu. She's also wrong about 12+5 as earliest for your scan. If you're ok waiting hang in there, sending positive vibes ❤️

Drumstick1223 · 24/03/2021 15:24

Thanks @Jl2020 , mega relieved. I get seriously nervous befor scans.

The harmony test is normally a private thing I think, it's a blood test and think it's more accurate than NHS screening test for Down's syndrome, Edwards, Patau and Turner syndrome . It's an alternative to an amino and no risk to baby (I think) as it's a blood test. It's not normally offered as standard on the NHS.

Not sure if we're allowed to post links here but here's a link just in case:

jellybean13419 · 24/03/2021 17:17

Thank you for adding me to the new thread!
@Drumstick1223 lovely scan photo!! So glad all went well for you 🥰 and another little cheeky bonus scan can't be bad either! Congrats x

jellybean13419 · 24/03/2021 17:21

@MustStopSnacking28 hello and I love your Mumsnet name 😂 congratulations on your pregnancy and having a healthy bean at your scan. But I'm so sorry for your previous loss. What's your due date? Xx

nevergiveuptrying · 24/03/2021 17:22

Congratulations, @Drumstick1223 and thanks for the harmony info!

jellybean13419 · 24/03/2021 17:23

Anyone else got insomnia? It's driving me nuts and was really quite hoping that at almost 13 weeks it would be gone by now. But no.. it better not be here to stay! Apparently 2:30am is a lovely time get all sorts of chores done 😂

Jl2020 · 24/03/2021 18:49

@Drumstick1223 aww so glad the scan went well and what a lovely pic! Thankyou for the information about the harmony test have Just had a quick look at that link too :)

@jellybean13419 I cannot sleep at all atm! Luckily I don't actually feel any more tired than usual but it's just so annoying, even when I do sleep it's not a proper deep sleep like I'll be having a dream but I'm not actually asleep I can just open my eyes and be wide awake I don't know it's weird I can't really explain it 😂 hope you manage to get some decent sleep soon! :)

whitershadeofpale · 24/03/2021 19:03

I had my booking in appointment today at 9+2. My midwife seemed lovely and it was much longer than I'd expected, as it was just over the phone. I'm going for bloods and urine samples on Tuesday.

I'm just excited and nervous for my 12 week scan now. It all feels more real now which is nice but also makes me a bit anxious as I know that would make it all so much worse if anything goes wrong. I'm just clinging to that reassurance of having seen the heartbeat at 6 weeks.

For various reasons we'll be telling DP's family this weekend. I'm looking forward to it as SIL is pregnant too, she's due the same week I would have been if I hadn't miscarried in November. Because they know that they've been very quiet on the baby talk front (which is really lovely and considerate of them) but it will be nice to get rid of the elephant in the room and get excited about having cousins close in age.

@jellybean13419 no insomnia as such here, but I've really struggled to get off to sleep at night. I just can't seem to get comfortable at all-my boobs seem to get in the way however I turn!

MeltingSnowflake · 24/03/2021 20:29

@Drumstick1223 Congrats on the wonderful scan photo and results! So pleased for you 😊

Thank you @Kona84 for starting the new thread!!

Drumstick1223 · 24/03/2021 20:32

Thanks everyone. I still can't actually believe I'm pregnant lol, when dies this sink in?? Haha

Drumstick1223 · 24/03/2021 20:33

*does

jellybean13419 · 24/03/2021 20:48

@Jl2020 yes that's exactly what it's like. It's so annoying! How many weeks are you? I keep hoping one night it'll just all go back to normal but that hope is now fading 😂

@whitershadeofpale I know what you mean about the can't get comfy too! It's just tossing and turning, which is mad cos there is no bump getting in the way yet! Good news about your booking appointment today and lovely you're going to share with your family this weekend. What date is your 12 week scan?

jellybean13419 · 24/03/2021 20:50

@Drumstick1223 it definitely still hasn't sunk in over here yet. And it's feeling more weird now there is no nausea and sickness and i feel like I'm out of the first trimester haze. I'm guessing it won't sink in until we get those first movements maybe??? Can't wait 🥰

mooloop · 24/03/2021 21:08
