Snagging my place too! Just read through some of your comments about people being insensitive, its so rude isn't it! Drives me mad. You wouldn't ask such personal questions about someones bowel movements so why about uteruses?

One of our neighbours is lovely and really supportive after we miscarried last year, but she keeps asking if im pregnant, and she keeps packaging it like 'I hate asking but hows it all going?' I'm just like STOP ASKING ME THEN! I know it all comes from a good place but it was really hard as were 14 months trying all in all so it started being a really sensitive subject.

Starting to get nervous for my scan next week, i can't get over how much they grow! It still looked like a gummy bear last week haha

Sceptre86 · 05/03/2021 20:04

@MrsMcNtobe I was super nervous before my 12 week scan. I didn't have a reassurance scan and have been quite lucky symptom wise so the scan has made it feel very real. I didn't really sleep well before it but thankfully my dh was allowed to be with me and it was every bit as special as the scan with my dd and ds. I had to go for bloods afterwards so it took about 30 minutes in total.

Chica1990 · 05/03/2021 20:06

How are you feeling how @unicornpower ?

Poppins2016 · 05/03/2021 20:10

I thought we'd need thread #3 soon!

@Mamabearwhere my guess is 8 (threads)... Grin

showmorekindness · 05/03/2021 20:15

Hi everyone... quick Q for those who have recently had 12 week scans - did you need to provide a urine sample at this appointment? Thanks

AdventuresAwait · 05/03/2021 20:25

Hi @showmorekindness, I had my scan on Monday and yes they asked for a urine sample. I didn't know they'd need one (there was a sign by a basket of pots in the waiting room) so went to the toilet when they asked for one straight after my scan. I think they said they check it for glucose.

I think I'll just take one to all appointments now!

2021mumma · 05/03/2021 20:41

@showmorekindness I didn’t have to provide one at my 12 week scan I just saw the sonographer nobody else

AdventuresAwait · 05/03/2021 21:07

@2021mumma, @showmorekindness, me too but it was the sonogopher I had to give it to. There was a sign saying they were checking urine samples for all patients so when I went in, I said I didn't have one & the sonographer said not to worry, gave me a pot and said to do it after she had finished the scan.

Must be different in different areas?

It depends on area whether partners can attend too. So maybe just something else that differs.

Maybebaby29 · 05/03/2021 21:12

People who have had there scans and bloods etc how long did it take all together? My letter said allow for 4 hours 😐 although I have to go for a covid test an hour before and wait in the car for my results before I’m allowed it! 🙈

RadDarwazeh · 05/03/2021 21:16

Hello girls 😄 just had a bath. Had lower back pain but bath seems to have helped xx

2021mumma · 05/03/2021 21:19

@AdventuresAwait when I had bloods and urine appt I took a sample in a urine sample pot I had at home and they said no has to be a pot with a red lid! So I went into the bathroom and poured it in. I wish they would give us notice better to do it at home than avoid hospital toilets at the moment x

SP2Bx · 05/03/2021 21:25

I totally missed this new thread before I commented on the old one 🙈 didn’t realise I wasn’t on the last page! Thanks for setting up!

Gadea · 05/03/2021 21:37

@showmorekindness they didn't ask me for a urine sample, only the scan and a blood test for the combined test. They asked me to go with a full bladder though so it would have been easy to provide a sample (or three!). In fact the sonographer asked me to go half empty it because it was too full 😅

@Maybebaby29 my appointment was at 2pm and I was out the door of the hospital at exactly 3pm.

bewitchingnight · 05/03/2021 21:55

I was in for maybe just under two hours - scan and bloods. Didn't need to do a urine sample, would have been so easy I really over hydrated!

A lot of waiting around and I had to keep going back to different receptions to make different appointments (like 20 week scan etc). I was there much longer than I thought I would be.

MrsMcNtobe · 05/03/2021 22:12

@Sceptre86 I think nerves must be normal, feel like I’m wishing my weekend away waiting for Tuesday. Ordered us a nice afternoon tea delivery for Monday since we’re both off work so that should take my mind off things for a while when I’m eating lots of cake 🙈
