Yay, hello! Thank you @SmileyT 🥰

Thank you for all the birthday wishes on the other thread. I’ve had a lovely day 🥳

What’s everyone up to this weekend?

Mococo1 · 14/08/2020 19:30

@SmileyT my EDD is 30/03/2020 and il let you know when my next scan is to add to the list! Xx

Dipsy77 · 14/08/2020 19:32

Thanks for the new thread xx

mrsmummy1111 · 14/08/2020 19:34

Thanks @SmileyT I'll let you know my updated DD after my scan. It's currently 03/04/21 but I ovulated late so reckon it'll change.

I'm about to eat my katsu curry then I'm off for another early night, this baby is sucking the pure life out of me! Enjoy your evening you lovely lot xx

zippityzip · 14/08/2020 20:31

Yayyyy we are here. More sex, haribo, scans and vomiting 💜💜💜

Noble89 · 14/08/2020 20:52

@LittleRa happy birthday lovely! Hope it been a good one 😊

@Mococo1 that's such a good stash! They only had strawberry no cola today so I shall be rectifying that tomorrow!

@blodyn91 omg so cute! Don't listen to OH, it's nice to have a little bit of excitement. I think after each scan I'll treat myself/bubs to something to celebrate each milestone. I've got another one next Sunday and then will just be my 12 week scan so might get a little something after each of those but will leave the bulk of the buying until I know the gender.

@cocoblue22 it's so odd isn't it! Like I can't describe my reliance on a cuppa, going even a day without one would be unfathomable to me usually but now I've just got no desire for one at all. I don't know of it differs by area but mine was like a letter. It said they no longer issue cards as bad for cost and environment but that I didn't need to take the letter so I assume there must be an electronic record they check when you don't pay for your prescription. I'm sure it was backdated to like early July too which was odd.

That's exactly what happened in the shop 😂. I went in for dog food and it just spiralled haha.

@SmileyT god yes I'm so glad it's the weekend. I've put some holidays in for next week as this pregnancy is really starting to kick my butt. I've had to have a nap on my lunch the last 2 days and another after work just to get through the day. Sounds like it went as well as it could have with bitch boss. My lot are lovely and know what happened last time so I've told my manager and our section manager and they've both been amazing.

Does anyone know of docs will prescribe anything for nausea? Like I don't vomit often but my nausea is genuinely now 24/7 with very rare relief and it's getting worse. It's genuinely becoming really debilitating and I had a full on cry about it this afternoon as I'm just so sick of feeling sick. I feel a bit of a fraud asking for help when I'm not throwing up every day like some people but honestly the constant nausea is really getting me down.

FairyLights2 · 14/08/2020 21:32

@LittleRa Happy birthday Hun! Hope you had a good one ❤️

@Noble89 Ah, I have the same due date as you: 25th March. I've also been really struggling with nausea lately. It'a pretty much 24/7 as well - worse at night time. I have found having a banana in the morning helps and in the evening I usually snack on grapes. It's funny you mentioned that because I've spent all day googling how to control this better. I'm thinking of buying some crackers tomorrow because apparently that helps. Let me know if anything works for you x

Mococo1 · 14/08/2020 23:18

@Noble89 @FairyLights2 my nausea is bad but only in the afternoon it's gone by 6ish! I really can't imagine it all day- I cried about it today too! I feel like it was just feel better to throw up as would get some relief

I found these nausea wrist bands so might try those!

@SmileyT really glad you have had the chat with your manager now- do you feel relieved?? Xx

Eloise27 · 15/08/2020 07:38

Thanks for the new thread @SmileyT!

My early scan is on 30th August, still awaiting appt for the 12 week scan, and EDD is currently 8th April ☺️

Ltay2 · 15/08/2020 08:06

Morning ☀️ hasn't realised we'd moved over to a new thread! Nausea has started for me as of last night. As not nice as it is in a strange way it's made me feel relieved that something is progressing, although I am certain even in a few hours time, never mind days, I will feel very differently about that as I have a lot to get on with today! Got my last CB test to do later, FMU already gone but suppose it doesn't really matter about what time of day anymore?!

blodyn91 · 15/08/2020 08:07

So told MIL and her partner, her partner was mega chuffed. (OH lost his dad when he was 13). But can't figure MIL out, she cried and hugged OH saying 'you are my baby, I love you so much' but couldn't look at me just. I was expecting this though. Did say I had bought a babygrow already, and then she gave me a row as well and went on about her MC at 8weeks, and said I needed to stop exercising. 🙄
Im still feeling optimistic and excited to tell my parents today 😁
and hell am I going to listen to anybody who tells me not to do something, I know my body!

zippityzip · 15/08/2020 08:18

@blodyn91 Your MIL sounds like a nightmare just like mine.
You watch, they've given us both horrific responses to getting a grandchild and when the baby is born they will try and be ALL OVER YOU.

Your parents will be over the moon 😃

@Noble89 I think the constant nausea is worse than being sick. At least when I've been sick I have relief for a few hours. But the constant nausea is just crappy and shitty. Not sure on what the doctor can do though 😞

LittleRa · 15/08/2020 08:36

@blodyn91 DP’s Mum said “I’m too young to be a grandma!!” It’s her first grandchild and DP is a little younger than me, whereas my Mum already has 4 grandchildren between my DD and my brother’s kids. She was just joking though and did hug me. My mum texted randomly yesterday to say she was “super super happy” Grin I think, like me, she’s excited for DD to have a little sibling.

Cocoblue22 · 15/08/2020 08:50

@SmileyT love this list! Your organisation is amazing and I love it! Just replied to you on old bus re mean manager! X

@Noble89 yeah they stopped the cards (I have a regular membership since I have so many meds! So normally pay online and get an email with a number but it's all electronic so they know anyway. Okie dokie I'll look out for a letter just need the confirmation so I don't worry and pay again! Yeah on the form it says it's backdated 28 days before they receive it I think so you can use it before you get it but I'd be worried in case they hadn't got it and I got a fine! Although pretty sure they could check you are legit with midwife or gp practice in that case. On the nausea front yeah they can prescribe you there's notes on it in green maternity notes book it says to get it sorted as early as possible with gp if it's unbearable sounds like you really need to tell them if it's stopping you functioning day to day they will understand x

@FairyLights2 @Noble89 I find snacking to help with ds it was biscuits just like rich tea or digestive or custard creams would keep it at bay especially while i was working or sweets to suck on. This time I'm finding polo mints useful x

@blodyn91 if you exercise loads already it's fine don't listen to her...just don't push yourself as hard as you normally would and like you say you know your limits anyway people just always want to give the pearls of wisdom. Being fit will deffo help with birth and labour. It's a shame your mil was like that but good that you weren't bothered. Your parents will give you the response you deserve don't worry! X

@LittleRa just tell her she will be a GILF and wait for that reaction 🤣 x

Noble89 · 15/08/2020 09:15

@FairyLights2 AHH due date buddies ❤️Literally nothing is working for me now 😭. I was getting periods of respite whilst I was eating oddly enough but now even those are gone. I literally retched my way through my lunch yesterday it was from.

@Mococo1 I'd not thought about the wristbands! I've ordered some this morning and they should be here tomorrow. I woke up 3 times in the night and couldn't get back to sleep for the nausea.

I'm sacking off meals for now. I'm just going to snack consistently throughout the day and see if that helps. There's literally nothing I fancy to eat in terms of a meal but I can at least force a Alice of toast or a bag of crisps down my neck. And for some reason sweets are fine 😂.

@zippityzip I know, I said to my OH if happily take throwing up just for some respite because it's awful feeling like this. You know that feeling you get when the room spins just before you're about to throw up? I've felt like that for 2 days solid now and it's really starting to get me down.

@Cocoblue22 thanks for the advice. Like o said I'm going to try snacking regularly rather than making any attempt to eat an actual meal. I've ordered the wristbands and will see if they help. If not I'm going to call the GP and see if they can help.

SmileyT · 15/08/2020 09:24

Morning squad ✌🏾

@LittleRa OH is working today so I plan to Netflix and nap and maybe look at cars and new bathrooms, OH is desperate to get both sorted and obviously needs my final sign off. What have you got planned for birthday weekend? xx

@Dipsy77 how are you getting on? I know you are waiting until your dating scan to see bean, when is it booked for? x

@Noble89 I had cola fizzy laces for dinner last night 🤪 and yes definitely speak to the Drs there are a few options they can prescribe you for nausea definitely don't suffer in silence. I've also read that upping protein can help, even though you feel like your body wants carbs - protein actually helps with nausea so maybe try upping that with anything you find palatable xx

@Mococo1 definitely feel relieved that it's out of the way with mean manager, hopefully she gives me a bit of a break now aswell x

@Ltay2 is it the CB weeks one? I don't think it will make a huge amount of difference but depending on how diluted it is the amount of hcg it registers will vary. My nausea isn't half as bad this morning but I've put my big girl pants on and deciding not to let it worry me, lets see how long this lasts 🤣

@blodyn91 ahh people can be strange but glad you aren't letting it bother you, hope it goes well with your parents today. I'm telling mine on their birthday in October I think they'll be very shocked especially as I haven't told them I have a bf 🤪

@Cocoblue22 mean manager was definitely a bit jealous, I'm excited to see your little bean tomorrow 🥰

Question for the experienced mommas, with the exemption certificate how much dental work can you get done for free? I've been holding off paying for fillings (yes I'm a cheapo) but wondering if it's just check ups you can get done? xx

OP posts:
zippityzip · 15/08/2020 09:32

@SmileyT Never had a filling but they are definitely covered by the exemption. But you won't have the option of white fillings it'll be the traditional ones.

Cocoblue22 · 15/08/2020 09:34

@Noble89 it sounds awful for you far worse than mine I'd deffo ask your gp you can't go on like that bless you x

@SmileyT all the dental work you want! I'm private and didn't need anything doing anyway last time so didn't take advantage of that but did use my free prescriptions a lot!! Get all those fillings done while you can x

Cocoblue22 · 15/08/2020 09:35

@SmileyT not sure if you can pay the difference and have the white ones worth asking and finding out tho. Deffo all the check ups and cleaning polishing and normal fillings are covered though x

Dipsy77 · 15/08/2020 10:00

@SmileyT I'm ok thanks although full on nausea 24/7 constantly trying to avoid throwing up 🤮, it's so hard with an 11 month old who has decided she no longer needs a nap in the day so I am exhausted !!.
I've picked an out of area hospital so although I've had my hour booking in appointment I'm waiting for them to call me to have another booking in with them and then they will arrange my scan and bloods, my midwife said if they haven't rung by this Thursday to ring her and she will get in touch with them.
I'm still really nervous and today I'm 9+4 which is when I went to epu for lack of symptoms last time and found out it was a MMC so that's playing on my mind a bit xx

SmileyT · 15/08/2020 10:09

@Cocoblue22 @zippityzip thanks lovelies, so helpful being able to ask questions to people I trust without scouring the Internet where you always get 10 different answers 😂

@Dipsy77 well at least when they call you it won't be long until you've got a date. I'm sure that as you've still got extreme symptoms everything will be fine this time, but definitely understand the anxiety. And naughty little one not having naps, must be tough especially as you are still BF aren't you 😩 Annoying you have to go for another booking appt, mine was done by the hospital I picked initially, I wonder why they didn't just do it 🙄 x

OP posts:
Dipsy77 · 15/08/2020 10:24

@SmileyT I bottle feed but she will only take it from me at the minute she's going through a clingy phase!, I've put her in her play pen so I can have 5 minutes but she's already starting to whinge she's a cheeky little thing though and when I tell her no she giggles at me so I can't help but smile back at her xx

blodyn91 · 15/08/2020 10:26

@SmileyT haha when are you planning on telling them you have BF? or just all at once? 'and here is the dad Walaha'
Im a little gutted MIL is a bit weird and a very pesimistic woman, since all my family are 2.5hrs away so will need her help 😩 when really Id rather not 🙈 (never telling OH this)
On the nausea front, I find it worst when Im sat still, so find going outside for a walk helps even though the thought of doing that makes it feel worst 😣 but I also don't think mine is half as bad as all you yet 😬

Cocoblue22 · 15/08/2020 10:45

@SmileyT I've just asked my dentist friend and they said it's up to the dentist but most only do temporary fillings while you are pg because it has mercury in it but then say come back after you've given birth for the proper filling as the card lasts a year after the birth so it's worth making an appointment for a check up with yours and finding out what they will do. Most wont do xrays etc while your pg which makes sense x

Cocoblue22 · 15/08/2020 10:50

@blodyn91 you mil will soon come around once you've had your 12 week scan and she sees the baby picture and you get a bump she will be completely different. Also try and get her involved if you can maybe let her be part of a gender reveal if you're having one? We also booked a private 4d scan at 27 weeks and invited our parents and they cried and felt really bonded to the baby then it was lovely. Also let her feel your bump when baby is kicking give her mil privileges etc she will be your bff soon I guarantee. I think sometimes it's hard for the mil coz they assume your mum will get first priority with them being the mother of the daddy I think they don't quite feel as involved so it could be that x
