@Mococo1 - thank you! Yes our first. I'm like you, very anxious. My heart hasnt stopped racing since yesterday!! Nhs website says 30th April, however another site I checked where you can put conception date (definitely ovulated either 4th or 5th August) says early May. Thereabouts 😂 it'll be a May birth. All my DH's family are May babies 😂😂

blodyn91 · 17/08/2020 09:10

@Sausage1990 I go through waves of 'Ive got this' to 'I have no idea what im doing' and 'my wedding is going to be shit 🙈' I just really want to fit in my dress, it was bloody expensive and wedding dress shopping was so stressful that I don't want to go through that again 🙈 but in reality thats not the end of the world. With actual boobs I can try different styles on (Im like an A cup quickly growing into my B). Also with corona god knows if Ill ever have a huge party, 30 guests might be all I'll be allowed.
@zippityzip you are totally right there. Waiting for the mothering hormones to kick in

So I told both in laws and parents at 5weeks. Gave MIL the clear blue stick. Then with my parents told them to look at this photo on my phone which said 'Expected due date April 14th 2021' which is also my birthday, my aunties, my grans and my great grans. Told my sister 'We need to re arrange the hen-again'
Would have waited a bit longer if I didn't need to tell them with wedding plans, plus with this barn as my parents are lending us money, so wanted them to know everything.

welcome @MrsEmilyB thats sounds lile a cute reveal to OH! I was like @SmileyT and ran from the bathroom and chucked the stick in his face

Ltay2 · 17/08/2020 09:25

@MrsEmilyB Cute reveal plan for DH!

@Sausage1990 I just told my mum outright, she half suspected anyway as had already noticed I was looking extra tired 😂 we aren't telling OH parents until after our private scan at 9 weeks but going to get a little card that says 'you've been promoted' on the front and then inside is the scan pic and says 'to grandparents!' (This will be their first grandchild) so not too over the top as I am aware 9 weeks is still early, but still a nice gesture ☺️

Sausage1990 · 17/08/2020 09:44

Ohhh those are good ideas @Ltay2 & @blodyn91. I'm guna have to get my thinking cap on.

So I just called the midwife & got my details registered 😬 they advised I get a higher dose folic acid as I have a BMI and they said that I'll have a call from one of her collages towards to end of the week to book in. I've gota take my new patient form to the GP today to register locally.
I think I might also book my early scan with wttw 😁😬 so many things today! Feeling brave and nervous lol

Sausage1990 · 17/08/2020 09:45

A higher BMI *

zippityzip · 17/08/2020 09:49

@Sausage1990 I just put T-shirt's on my kids and waited for them to realise 😂 was less nerve wracking than saying "I'm pregnant" for some reason. Especially since my first pregnancy announcement went down like a lead balloon (very young, together five minutes, unplanned). Even now we are married and 30 it was still scary!

zippityzip · 17/08/2020 09:52

Thank you @Mococo1 you're so sweet.

The headaches are hormonal 😞 just make sure you're hydrated and sleep as much as you want/need.

An element of worry is normal throughout the whole pregnancy. And then you worry when they are born 😂 forever more.

Use your scans as milestones. There are some lovely mindfulness apps to help stay calm.

Sausage1990 · 17/08/2020 10:17

I just booked my early scan 😬😁 @SmileyT you can add me to the list now as I've actually got something to add haha. 5th September (I'll be 7+4) - let's hope this little bean sticks around for us to be introduced!

@zippityzip omg I find saying the words "I'm pregnant" really hard to say. It's probably because it doesn't feel real atm so mom sure it will be fine in time but atm it's wierd haha

Mustbemad82 · 17/08/2020 11:11

Hi ladies

I’m tentatively jumping on here - I’m between 4/5 weeks
Was really unsure about this as had a chemical last month so ultra nervous
Have had some brownish bleeding and pain was sent to EPU yesterday
Had b-HGC bloods and having another tomorrow - depending on outcome may have a scan to see whether it’s in the right place

First day with breast tenderness today
Have had loose stools for a few days too

Is anyone else not enjoying anything as they are consumed with worry!

Cocoblue22 · 17/08/2020 12:23

@samilicious yeah it's a shame when people have a negative experience but don't let it put you off if it's what you want because marriage can also be lovely (it doesn't change much though other then your name and financial security in some ways). And the expense can be a lot or a little depending how you choose to do it. We spent a lot which looking back probably could of spent less but I had the best day and it was exactly how I wanted it so was worth it in my eyes but everyone is different x

@Eloise27 I've definitely had more spots than usual (still only a few) but pregnancy definitely does affect your skin. Don't let it get you down just do your best to cleanse thoroughly and use concealer I guarantee no one else will notice and im sure you look beautiful x

@mrsmummy1111 lovely scan pic glad all went well x

@blodyn91 don't worry it will come naturally to you when baby is born. My DH had never held a baby before our DS and was terrified and he was a complete natural. It's not as scary when it's your own baby. I recommend the happy birth book x

@MrsEmilyB congratulations on BFP 🎉 and welcome x

@SmileyT haha yeah I deffo won't be drinking as much next time although had yesterday's scan on an empty bladder and it was still clear. Glad you're doing some antenatal classes try and make a few mummy friends there that's how I got my mummy wolf pack x

@zippityzip glad the bleeding is easing now did you contact the epu? How are you feeling? Hope you're okay x

@Sausage1990 with my DS my mum guessed the day after as I wasn't drinking at a family party it was also just before MIL bday so wrapped up a preg test in a bracelet box (she thought she was getting jewellery haha). This time we bought DS a t shirt saying I'm going to be a big brother and let him wear it as and when we saw our family. I have the higher dose of folic acid too due to my medical conditions it's fine it's a tiny tablet you get on prescription x

@blodyn91 your wedding will be amazing no matter how it works out have faith what is meant to be will be and everything will work out perfect in the end x

@Mococo1 I've had lots of headaches too they will pass in a few weeks x

@Mustbemad82 congratulations on BFP 🎉 try not to worry I'm sure all will be fine this time sorry to hear about your previous CP x

samilicious · 17/08/2020 12:34

@Mococo1 don't worry - I'm not having loads of symptoms. Weird cramping things going on. Feel a bit tired sometimes in the early evening. That's about it!

Cramps keep occurring especially in my left side so already convinced myself I'm ectopic about 3 times. Might be a corpus luteum cyst or something because think I've had cysts in the past (was trying to get them diagnosed in COVID but no hope. Just got my scan appt through for it from April but need to cancel now as they said if I got pregnant they wouldn't bother persuing it). It's nothing like miscarriage pain or cramps - it it started going that way I'd get it checked out

@SmileyT I'll be so sad to see it go! 🚗 it's a lil mint green one

@Cocoblue22 good to have another perspective on it, thank you 😊 I always thought I'll change my mind and get married when I'm 50 with all our kids there. I think if I ever do get married I'll end up going all out - I know what you mean, don't want to compromise on stuff if it's your big day

@zippityzip great to hear the bleeding stopped!

Welcome new ladies and congratulations!

@Mustbemad82 still very nervous and taking it slow myself and either 5+3 or 6+1 today, depending which app I go on. A few of us have had MCs and chemicals before so don't worry you're not alone xxx

Mococo1 · 17/08/2020 12:49

@Mustbemad82 story of my life! Hopefully EPU can scan you and it's nothing to worry about as can be implantation bleeding especially if it's dark brown- just know most women go on to have healthy pregnancies after a CP so fingers and toes crossed for you 🤞🏽

@Cocoblue22 thank you for letting me know- been drinking so much so know I'm not dehydrated!

@Sausage1990 so excited for your scan

Nausea hit me like a truck in the last hour😬 so happy lol - DH has got me some cream crackers (Jacobs and they are doing the job but I've eaten about half the packet because as soon as I stop chewing nausea come back lol)

Mococo1 · 17/08/2020 12:53

@samilicious when I went epu I got told I had a corpus luteum cyst on my right side (so they knew which ovary ovulated) but its nothing to worry about as it's a functional cyst for pregnancy and forms once the egg has been released to help produce extra progesterone!!

it can cause pain and usually disappears once placenta is formed but I've had a few pains on my right side but they confirmed it was due to the cyst! So spot on could be that hun xxx

Ltay2 · 17/08/2020 13:23

@Sausage1990 I have a feeling I'm going to be told the same about the folic acid, my BMI is just under 30 but will be rounded up no doubt.

@Cocoblue22 I'm so worried about the water drinking before the scan. My bladder is terrible at the best of times I literally need a wee 30 minutes after drinking something so if I drink a pint of water 1 hour before I'll be ready to explode and won't enjoy the scan for being in so much pain so I don't really know what to do 😂

I've started feeling so nauseous when I'm hungry today, it's been mild before but today much worse. Trying to not allow myself to get hungry as it's not enough to put me off any food so far, the only thing I've gone off is cups of tea as the thought of warm milk in them makes me feel ill. Although ice cold milk with cereal is still good!

Mustbemad82 · 17/08/2020 13:40

Thanks ladies

It’s nice to have some support

I haven’t spoken to anyone about it and earner think of myself as pregnant it’s just this pesky tugging on my right side
It makes my blood pressure rise !

I’ll update you all about bloods tomorrow, they may hold more info

Can I ask how old everyone is- I’m 38 , me eldest would have been 18 this new year (I lost him to meningitis when I was 6 months pregnant with my 16 year old)
My step daughter is 14L

The house is full of teenage hormones!

My age means I get a little more worried- I didn’t blink an eye in earlier pregnancies- seemed to take them in my stride, now I’m older it feels like a minefield

SmileyT · 17/08/2020 14:24

@Sausage1990 sounds like you have a super productive day planned, when are you going back to work? Is that still a few weeks off? I'm telling my parents on their birthday so planning to get them a little fridge magnet and card with scan pics and whether it's a boy or girl ☺️

@MrsEmilyB ahh that's so sweet, he'll be over the moon. I'm such a Scrooge, OH came back with one the other day and I told him he had to return it 😂

@Mococo1 have you tried meditating or yoga? can be great for switching off for a bit, there are some great meditations with positive affirmations you can try on YouTube 🙏 I say to OH every night, should we book a scan for tomorrow, so don't get it twisted I understand the anxiety 😂. I've signed up to Baby and Bump, it's like NCT but a bit more modern from reviews. Glad your sickness is back again, I think it's normal for it not to last all day and you see

@Mustbemad82 hi and welcome over here 👋 so nice that your EPU would see you and seem to be supportive. I'm nearly 32 and it's my first 🙈 also so sorry to hear about your son, I bet going through that means that you take a lot in your stride and are such a strong mumma x

@samilicious I went for the classic white 500 ☺️ it's interesting you say about taking your OHs name. My mum didn't take my dads name when married (they double barrelled) so I've never really thought I would and I'd always said if I had a child out of marriage I'd give them whatever surname I have but OH is so against that (ridiculously sexist he didn't even think it would be a conversation, because his mum has a different surname to him ) so now I'm wondering if as a compromise I could take his surname or maybe we just make a new one up 😂

@Ltay2 don't do an hour before that's what I did and it was painful! Do what @SmileyT said and just drink a pint half an hour before and you'll feel full but not bursting I'm going to take @SmileyTs advice and do that for my next one no need to be in pain with being so full x

@Mustbemad82 I'm early 30s but lots of my friends have had babies at 37 and 38 so I'm sure it doesn't make much difference and you'll be absolutely fine. So sorry to hear about what happened to your son that's awful and must of been heartbreaking to go through you are definitely a very strong lady x

Sausage1990 · 17/08/2020 14:30

@Mococo1 @samilicious what does the cyst feel like? I've had quite a bit of sharp cramping which is quite uncomfortable that been worrying me. I thought it was just wind like the other day but it's been on an off since and I'm feeling quite worried.
I've called my GP awaiting a call back for advice. Got myself all worried and upset so thought if I'm feeling like this I need to check it out for piece of mind.
I thought I'd ovulated from the right as I felt it that side but the pain is on the left.. Who knows. I'm shitting myself. I'll keep you posted xx

Sausage1990 · 17/08/2020 14:43

@SmileyT yeah I'm still off work atm. I'm planning on going back to work mid-September. My sick note is until the 7th but I've got quite alot of leave which was cancelled while I've been off so I'm going to use a week after my note so I'll be off a little while longer. I'm guna do a phased return then again use a few annual leave days to do some 4 days weeks. Hopefully it'll be okay doing back. Xx

Mustbemad82 · 17/08/2020 14:53

@Sausage1990 yeah I’ve had the same
I went to a and e in the end as has loose stools and bleeding
They sent me to gynae and I’ve got repeat bloods tomorrow and will have an early scan
I think any concern it’s worth asking

Thanks ladies

Ltay2 · 17/08/2020 14:54

@Cocoblue22 That's what I'm thinking, I'll aim for 20-30 mins before so I can actually enjoy the experience!

Mustbemad82 · 17/08/2020 14:54

@Cocoblue22 thanks- makes me feel a little better
Think they’ve now changed the title “geriatric Mother “ to one that says “advanced maternal age

Still....... getting a BFP feels lucky , I hope it sticks

Sausage1990 · 17/08/2020 15:38

@Mustbemad82 im glad they're looking into it. Except for the lower pains I don't have any other symptoms. Just spoke with the GP and she doesn't seem too worried. She said as there's no bleeding she doesn't feel it's a miscarriage, and as the pain comes and goes and I was able to relieve my discomfort I've the weekend with passing gas or a toilet visit, she said to see how I feel over the next 24hrs and if it gets worse to get to A&E but she will call again tomorrow to see how I am. She was really understanding given I started bleeding in this day on the last pregnancy. So I'm guna try my best to calm down and try to relax a bit. Xx

Mustbemad82 · 17/08/2020 15:45

@Sausage1990 hopefully that’s provided some reassurance
Me too
Hopefully if results ok tomorrow I’ll be happier but I know I won’t be really! I’ll still worry

Mococo1 · 17/08/2020 16:10

@Mustbemad82 sorry to hear about your first, must have been very difficult for you..so can telll you are a strong woman! stay positive about this one though and you've done the right thing by getting checked out

I know plenty of women giving birth to their first at 38! So I think being 38 and having your third is absolutely fine- I'm sure more women give birth after 35 anyway 😬 my MIL had DH at 44!

I'm 29 and on my first 👀

@Sausage1990 just like jabbing pains on my right side (and yes sort of like wind)- however with any pain you are 100% right to call your gp I would def go get it checked out in case no harm done that way

Is TMI anyone else like sporadically like really wet down there? DH thinks he's doing a really good job when we get busy 🤣
