@Mustbemad82 I've been trying to convince my 40 year old friend to have another one with me 😂 she's having none of it. She is also super fit and looks incredible, amazing hair, not a wrinkle in sight! You're not old. What you are is awesome, and strong and an amazing mother.

@Mococo1 And YES 😂 let it boost his ego. But it's entirely hormonal haha.

Hope you're ok @Sausage1990 paints etc can be normal but if at any point you think it's not then go to EPU - it's there for a reason and don't ever feel like you're wasting their time.

@Cocoblue22 No didn't contact EPU, I would have if it carried on but today it seems to have stopped so I'm feeling ok. Thanks for checking in 😃 my next scan is in two weeks so feels like forever to wait!

mrsmummy1111 · 17/08/2020 17:23

Congrats and welcome @Mustbemad82 !!! Lovely to have you here.

I'm 32 and this is #2 for us. But my mum had 5 kids and she didn't start until she was 30, she had the last of us at 42 completely naturally. 38 is a spring chicken! I hope your results tomorrow are what you're hoping for, we're all keeping our fingers crossed for you.

Sausage1990 · 17/08/2020 17:30

@Mustbemad82 well there's a change in plans. My gp called back having spiken to a colleague in Gynae and said even tho it is unlikely to be ectopic, as I have had pain on an off they would like me to go for a check up... So I'm on my way. Keep everything crossed its okay xx

Mustbemad82 · 17/08/2020 17:43

@Sausage1990 let me know how you go

@mrsmummy1111, thanks for those kind words . Fingers crossed I can be as lucky as your mum x

mrsmummy1111 · 17/08/2020 17:49

Fingers and toes crossed @Sausage1990
I'm sure everything will be fine but it's brilliant they're taking it seriously and hopefully it's good news xxx

SmileyT · 17/08/2020 17:56

@Sausage1990 sounds like a great plan, put you, your mental health and little bubs ahead of anything else 🥰 and definitely get anything you want checked out, I know some people are anti early scans etc and it a personal choice but if it's making you anxious just speak to somebody because anxiety is no good for anybody. Ahh glad they are taking it seriously, will they scan you? Hope it goes well x

@Ltay2 yeah last time I drank 2 cups of water from the water dispenser at work about 30mins before and it made all the difference, they do put a bit of a pressure so you don't want to be full to bursting. Also I read that if you're pretty hydrated in general it's not as important to have the half pint x

@Mococo1 I'm always wet down there now, I keep thinking I should wear a panty liner or something but then forget to buy them, so just casually ruining all my underwear 😂

OP posts:
Ltay2 · 17/08/2020 19:06

@SmileyT Oh that's good to know. I will make sure I'm well hydrated the couple of days before and only drink a bit before the scan!

Cocoblue22 · 17/08/2020 19:13

@Mustbemad82 geriatric mother 🤣 what a stupid term....no such thing age is just a number....some of the terms are ridiculous (as is bmi haha....yep I'm still annoyed about that one although dr today confirmed I am not actually obese as my bmi is 29 not 30! I knew it!) You deserve that BFP 🤞🏻 all runs smoothly for you I'm sure it will x

@Mococo1 extra moisture is completely normal as long as it doesn't smell funny and is white/clear in colour x

@zippityzip so glad it's stopped and you feel well that's good I'm sure it was what they told you to expect just look after yourself and try and take it easy until your scan x

@Sausage1990 hope all is fine and you get some reassurance let us know how you get on.

I completely agree with you @SmileyT it's a personal preference and if it makes you feel better having extra scans then do it I've certainly found it helpful and lovely seeing baby yesterday. I deffo drank way too much and it made the image unclear x

blodyn91 · 17/08/2020 19:43

@Sausage1990 hoping all went well/ is going well. So good they are checking up on you!

@Cocoblue22 I feel like you are my mumsnet big sister, along side @SmileyT and @zippityzip you always have such wise words! Whereas so many of us are panicking 😂 I started panicking today because I realised I have no idea how to change a nappy 🙈 I was also busy visiting farms so forgot I even was pregnant most of the day until I got offered a coffee! Arrived home and BANG shattered and very very hungry.
Thanks for the book advice, slipping that into OH amazon basket.
On BMI chat, supposedly OH is obese....he has a six pack...

Im 29 preggers with #1 lucky to not have experienced any CP or MMC hence why Im panicking more about nappies atm

samilicious · 17/08/2020 22:18

@SmileyT aw can't beat a classic. Deffo make a new name up! Just reminds me of Friends / Phoebe aka Princess Consuela Bananahammock 😂 I def would give them mine if I had same name as my mum's side, but just not close with my dad's side so just feels wrong. Plus OH's surname is Carter so if I took it I could be Stoke's answer to Beyoncé 💁‍♀️ or a double-barrel version anyway

@Mococo1 thank you for the info. I don't know what I'd do without this group honestly! I have lil wet patches but I'm still too scared to DTD to properly test em out 🤯 go for it girl!

@Mustbemad82 so sorry to hear about your son ❤️ don't envy living with teenagers but you could have a prospective babysitter in the house at least?

@Sausage1990 mine is on the left and usually ovulate from the left but had no ovulation pain this time. Mine is on and off but came on pretty strong after I had brek this morning weirdly, and last night when I had a late night hot dog... not a euphemism 😏 I might call my GP tomorrow if it happens again to see what they say. I was just dreading having to go EPU again because it just reminds me of last time when it was all bad news... but better to be safe than sorry

MrsEmilyB · 17/08/2020 22:23

@SmileyT - early scan booked for 5th September so you can add me to the list 💚 EDD is 28th April!

MrsEmilyB · 17/08/2020 22:26

@Sausage1990 hope everything is okay with you 💖💖💖💖💖💖

samilicious · 17/08/2020 23:28

@Sausage1990 let us know how it went btw - hope you're ok xxx

Sausage1990 · 18/08/2020 00:20

Hi all I'm finally back home. Everything is okay so far, I was only there long as the Dr was called into emergency surgery so I to wait 3hrs before I could see her and then I had to have bloods but as I'd been there so long I'd got too dehydrated. So by 11pm, on the 3rd attempt after a 1500ml of water, a cup of tea & a Tuna sandwich and Crisps I FINALLY managed to get bloods. I was free to go.

The Dr doesnt think it's a miscarriage at all, and says it's unlikely to be ectopic however they've tested for my hcg to see if things are progressing. It the result is over 1500 I will be able to have a scan on a few days to see but if its lower than that then it's likely too soon to see anything on a scan. If the latter happens I'll have repeated bloods to monitor my hcg progress and go from there.
I've come home and DH (who met me from work so was in his own car and had to basically sit in his car for hours as he wasn't allowed with me) arrived home about 15mins after me although we left at the same time and he came home with a chicken nuggets meal form Mcdonalds!!!

So food, rennie and bed for me! Thank you for you well wishes - you're the best bunch 😊

Mustbemad82 · 18/08/2020 06:33

@Sausage1990 pleased you felt reassured my dear
I’ve got my repeat bloods this morning
Going to set off early so I can get results later today
How are you feeling this morning

zippityzip · 18/08/2020 07:15

I'm glad you got checked out @Sausage1990 I hope you've got some sleep. What a star your DH is bringing you back nuggets. When do you get your blood results?

@Mustbemad82 good luck with your bloods too.

DH and I spent most of the day arguing yesterday. I pretty much said I'm not having this same argument for the next 18 months so you need to figure out what your priorities are. I start my degree in October so I need him here with his family to support me. I'm not getting myself in £17k worth of debt for a degree that I won't be able to do because I'm constantly being left alone with 3 kids.
Literally I do everything, the house, the kids, the mental load of everything. Which is fine usually - but he needs to take 50/50 when I start my degree and if it carries on the way he has recently then it's equivalent to me being a single parent.
He came home with flowers, which is his way of apologising because he cannot apologise. So the next few months, time will tell.

Mococo1 · 18/08/2020 09:39

@zippityzip I'm so sorry that you and DH are arguing! Hopefully actions speak louder than words in this scenario and you can do your degree and DH steps up and provides you with more support. I think it's wonderful you are planning on getting your degree so Go you!

Yay to chicken nuggets@Sausage1990 @Mustbemad82 good luck with your bloods 🥰

My hairs suddenly turned a lot curlier than usual !? It's usually straight/wavy but I've woken up with some pretty nice ringlets forming - is that a pregnancy symptom!? Or a shampoo issue I'm not sure lol

zippityzip · 18/08/2020 10:13

@Mococo1 Yeah he seems to forget that I also have a full time high pressure job (lots of safeguarding etc) and I'm gonna have two kids, a newborn, 16 hours of studying a week and I'll be going back to work FT when baby is around 6-9 months old. But I'm meant to shoulder ALL the responsibility of the kids, house and all the bollcoks stuff like car MOTs, getting bills paid, childcare arrangements, everything to do with school etc. No piss off, come home make dinner once a while and take the kids off my hands one day a week. I'm not asking for much.
Working 7 days a week to "be manly and provide" doesn't cut it for me at all. I would rather spoil the kids with money not time.

Sorry rant over - I probably am hormonal which doesn't help but even more reason to give me a hand! We planned this baby as a family for goodness sake.

And @Mococo1 honestly not a clue with the hair! All I know if half of mine fell out after the babies were born - hormones do mental things to you.

Ltay2 · 18/08/2020 10:19

@Sausage1990 So glad everything has gone ok for you!

@MrsEmilyB My early scan will be 6th September although I will be further along at the time!

MrsEmilyB · 18/08/2020 10:27

@Ltay2 amazing! How many weeks will you be. I'll be 7+0 if I go by first day of last period. 6+3 if I go by late ovulation date. They say they can scan from 6 weeks so I hope it'll be okay and not too early!

OMG ladies I told DH last night and he CRIED!! 😍😭 I went out a got a gift box, 2 beers called "Bloody Ell" 😂 a tiny grey baby jumper and leggings set which say "hello there", lots of sweeties and my 2 clearblue tests. I hid the tests and outfit under the sweets and asked him to open the box as an early cotton anniversary present. He opened it and said "but there isn't any cotton?" and I said "well you haven't looked at everything yet" - he lifted up the sweets, stared at the box for about 10 seconds, then hugged me crying and shaking. Honestly the sweetest. I bawled!!!

MrsEmilyB · 18/08/2020 10:27

So glad you got checked out @Sausage1990

Cocoblue22 · 18/08/2020 10:43

@blodyn91 aww what a lovely thing to say! It's the same on the nappy front once you've changed one you'll be a complete pro! DH had never even seen a nappy let alone changed one but he just did it after DS was born (as I was really ill afterwards I didn't change a nappy for a good few days which meant DH had to handle all the first poo which is black and like tar....glad I didn't have to....silver lining haha 🤣) x

@Sausage1990 glad all went well and now I want a McDonald's too x

@MrsEmilyB aww that's so sweet 💗 x

Ltay2 · 18/08/2020 10:59

@MrsEmilyB Awwww such a cute reveal, my OH teared up when I told him too he's defo going to cry at the scan 😂 I will be 8+6 from LMP for the scan so hoping it will be a fairly clear picture!

Ltay2 · 18/08/2020 11:00

@MrsEmilyB No, I will be exactly 9 weeks for the scan. Don't know why I found it so difficult to count, seriously took me like 2 minutes and still got it wrong even though I've been saying '9 week scan' for ages 😂🙄

MrsEmilyB · 18/08/2020 11:31

@Ltay2 😂😂 can baby brain be a thing already??? Are you having any symptoms? Last few days I have woken up at about 5:30am and can't get back to sleep. Not sure if its PG related? Aside from that, a little nausea for a few hours in the morning, ongoing mini cramps, peeing every 3 minutes and intermittent dizziness!
