I had a quick count up this morning (can you tell I'm bored) and I have 119 days left till my due date!

@Snowwhite2020 I'm getting really excited now! 👣👣👣

It's like 'this is happening isn't it?! A baby is going to land in the middle of our lives!'

Had a chat with hr and it turns out due to the way our annual leave falls I actually have a ton to take before maternity so I’ll be looking to finish up work six weeks before my due date on annual leave. Really pleased at that prospect, I have mentally checked out already and will definitely not be bored.

@peachypetite thanks for starting - pram wise it’s the weight of the car seat and carry cot to carry, I am wary of. Ickle Bubba prams do look lovely, I’ve found somewhere that stocks them and the Oyster so my husband and I are going to look at them next week.

6 weeks is amazing!!! I finish a month prior to due date, even though I’m not working at the moment. That takes me to something like 12 weeks until I break up from work. Yours will be loads less too, won’t it!!!

@Pinktruffle oh my word I can remember when it was 100 days till my wedding and how quickly that went.. wow okay! 121 days till my Due date - how crazy!

@peachypetite also discovered I've got loads left today ... 27 days and my leave year starts in November so I'll definitely be off a few weeks before and better take some in the meantime!!

If I don’t use it I’ll lose it so I’m more than happy to finish and mentally switch off from responsibility.

@Snowwhite2020 I'm due 26th November. I've been working from home since I had my egg transfer (it's an IVF pregnancy) on March 9th so I've been at home for my whole pregnancy so far. My school aren't sure if I can come back in September and have already hired my maternity cover so I may not go back at all. I'll have been off for nearly 2 years by the time I go back after my maternity leave.

@MummyShark97 I know! I really think the time will fly by. August always seems like a fast month to me, so in my head that's almost over before its started and then we are pretty much getting to the finishing line. Just 3 pay days left after all!

Good so many of you are going to be off with annual leave. No such luck for me I’m afraid but sure I’ll survive xx

Also! I have already been thinking about things to do - batch cook, get all xmas cards and presents organised and wrapped....plenty to keep us busy!

I am just starting to get in to batch cooking - I am a bit of a nerd and really enjoy budgeting and menu planning. Does anyone have any good recipes for meals that can be frozen and then oven cooked (no microwave here)?

Hi just checking in. Had a busy few weeks plus found a lump in my boob so I've been a bit stressed. Waiting for my appointment at the breast clinic at the moment.

@nearlyamummyof2boys just caught up with the last thread and saw you'd posted the expensive pump. I've had my eye on it too, I've heard quite good things. I think the investment would depend entirely on your personal circumstances. With my first I went back to work at 4.5 months but carried on pumping through to 6 months (breastfeeding in the mornings/evenings until 10 months). We also had a tongue tie so I expressed exclusively for the first 2 weeks before the tie was snipped and we could establish some breastfeeding (with the help of nipple shields). Since this is going to be number 2 I'm not going to have the time to invest in the same way to expressing like I did the first time around and like you I want them to get some breastmilk whether its direct from the source or via a pump and bottle I don't mind. That pump would mean I can get on with my day, prep dinner, work from home etc. without needing to use my hands. However the reviews are still quite mixed so I've not made up my mind on whether I want to buy it or not.

@EithneBlue do you have space for a microwave? It will probably be a godsend when you have a baby.

@peachypetite I have space. I just think they're hideous 😂 No tumble dryer either...
Ask me in December if I regret my decision!

@chubbyhotchoc Oh that sounds stressful - will they get you in to be checked soon?

My plan is have things I can defrost and heat up in five minutes in the microwave!

@EithneBlue yes they are all hideous but trust me, get a microwave (you can get really small corner ones!). It takes an hour to heat some batch cooked meals in the oven, let alone all the other defrosting uses for a microwave for food cooked for your weaning ect. You will survive without both a tumble dryer and a microwave, but you will cutting your nose off to spite your face with the microwave decision. They make everything so much easier, please I beg you, get one 🙏😆

You will never look back. Even to heat tea that you've forgotten to drink, you can always get rid when your little one is older but for the first few years my god you'll use it! I dont ever buy ready meals really and I use ours all the time, you can beat it's speed for reheating leftovers

@Fredthespider just get an electric one, they are so fast your only without one hand for like five minutes or so while you pump. I have the medela swing, you can also rent them from the hospital, like really expensive ones and it would still work out so much cheaper then that 'on the go' one. But money aside, you still have to attach it with you hands and take it off so you'd be hands free for what 5 minutes? I know pumping takes a lot longer at the beginning but by a few months in as a fellow pumper you know how fast you can fill up a bottle or two once supply is up, and the electric ones do all the work 😄

@chubbyhotchoc oh no, sorry your dealing with this, it must be such a worry. How are you getting on generally with the pregnancy as well and your other little girl?
