That one is not necessary for adults to have though it's more for children who have missed it, it mainly effects teenager I think so when they go to university and mix and blend a fair bit there!

That's interesting about the mumps @ChampooPapi! That actually makes sense as my sister got mumps a few years ago, and she was born in 1991. I've never had mumps as far as I know...I'll ask my mum! So I'll check with my GP if I can have the mumps vaccine. I wish I could have had the HPV one, but that wasn't a thing when I was younger and it was too expensive for me to get privately but at my last cervical check I was told I have HPV, so that's a bit annoying. They say it's not a big deal as most people get it and never know as it can pass between scans, but I'll have to have another check early next year sometime.

Anyway, I was all happy about my Ebay maternity coat, but it turns out the seller has just sent the fleece lining and not the full coat!! But it was listed as waterproof, which obviously fleece isn't. I assume she's taken them apart and sold them separately. I've contacted her and no doubt will just have to return it. Pretty irritating. Like I've no doubt I'll get the money back eventually but it's just an extra thing to have to fight about, as I'm sure she'll resist if she's sneaky enough to try and sell it in this way.

@Hanrora06 yes it's a really odd one isn't it because it was called MMR then 🤷‍♀️. My mum was a nurse so even she thought that's what they were giving and was supprised when we all got the mumps back in 2003. I think sharing cigarettes and kissing was in part to blame for the fast spread amoungst our year group 😆.

That sucks re ebay, you should actually get a full refund from PayPal without having the return it, it's not as described at all! Cheeky bitch , bet she thought she was being very clever 🙄

It's just like why!

So pleased with the safari decals I ordered online, they got delivered yesterday. Nursery is going to look stunning when it’s finished.

@ChampooPapi ahhh good to know about the Paypal... But oh actually I'm not sure if I used it as I used my husband's card. Ugh that's so typical!! All the things I've bought on my Paypal but not this one thing!! But yeah I'll just have to keep hassling Ebay about it until it's sorted. And apparently they say they won't help until the 10th. Irritating. And yeah like why, as if I wouldn't notice when a fleece coat arrives when it's listed as waterproof and I paid £50 for it. As if I'll pay £50 for a fleece lining. FFS.

We're starting to get things ordered for the nursery, can anyone recommend the best place to buy new mattresses for the cot and Moses basket? I was looking at John Lewis but they vary widely in price from £30 to £200 for the cot and I'm not sure what they really need.

OK coat-gate has a twist- it turns out I was being harsh and a bit angry (shocking I know that a pregnant woman with a headache may jump to conclusions Hmm) but it turns out this IS some kind of magic water resistant fleece and not a fleece lining. She has got home and sent me this link to the coat, www.mamdesign.net/carrying/clothes/twowaydeluxe.html which actually says it is water resistant >5000mm. It's a very old link and the coat is no longer for sale but...still seems OK. I feel maybe unlikely she'd have created a whole website purely for the purpose of selling coats on Ebay.... This level of waterproof-ness is better than some actual plasticky shell waterproof coats I've found. So I feel that this might be OK. It's unlikely we'll be hiking through storms with a baby anyway so...if I get caught in a downpour when walking the dog it should last.

@ChampooPapi yeah not on the high street. I love it it's fabric as well so looks quite soft!
There's only a few left it says so might go down in the sale x

@nearlyamummyof2boys yes!! They have so many good reviews on Etsy too. I bought two sets because it’s a big room.

@NaomiB79 not sure what brand your cot/basket is but do they not do the matching mattress in the correct size?

@peachypetite the cot is second hand, my Mum bought it for my niece who is now 7 and my brother used it for his two and is now passing it on to us. They can't remember where it was bought from.

@peachypetite so pleased you are pleased with them. I have ordered some similar ones I think from the same seller. Excited now! How long did yours take to come?

Feel so much better today, no stomach pain at all and I have felt her move. Maybe a little over reaction calling the midwife but it's hard not to feel anxious

Been pushchair shopping with my mom today. Not a wide variety in John Lewis but I was very impressed with the bugaboo chameleon 3. Have booked and appointment at baby planet as recommended by @pinktruffle for next week with the DH to have a proper look. It's getting exciting now...

@confused107 about two weeks. I’m now searching for other safari accessories to go with. I am planning to get furniture first so won’t put them up yet because I want to make sure I’m happy with where they are going!!

I had a bit of an anxiety-frst today. Baby is usually kicking me all day but had no movement today at all so ended up in maternity triage for 3 hours!

The baby was being a bit of a bugger and the midwife struggled to find a heartbeat but eventually came out of hiding and we got a good strong one. I'll try and relax a bit now.

Good luck with Baby Planet @Confused107. I hope you find the right pram for you!

@Pinktruffle I'm so sorry you've had such a stressful day, that moment where they were struggling to find the heartbeat I doubt you took a single breath. How many weeks are you now? It is such an anxious time pregnancy, it can be so incredibly hard however much wanted and hoped for, it is nothing like you imagine that's for certain, sometimes it's better, like when you start to feel your baby for the first time or when your partner holds your hand while you both talk about the future together over the bump, but it is filled with so much worry and emotion, it is definitely a marathon rather then a sprint

Report
Pinktruffle · 01/08/2020 19:51

Yeah, I've never felt so relieved when she eventually found it!

I'm 23+2 so not quite at the 24 week stage where they start to look for an established pattern but I've had a pattern for a couple of weeks. I think if I'd felt some movement, I would have been ok but I haven't had a single kick since last night so I was worried.

Everything is ok though and that's all that matters. It's funny, I remember someone here saying to me that your anxiety just moves milestone to milestone as you go a long and it's so true! I thought I would relax after I passed 12 weeks but new anxieties seem to find you!

Report
confused107 · 01/08/2020 19:57

Oh goodness @Pinktruffle what a worry. So glad all is ok. Hope you have a nice relaxing evening
