@Pinktruffle omg what a day!! so glad it was OK. Flowers I think it will be one of those things where the anxiety will shift and adapt over the time, not go away...the anxiety feels different definitely to before the 12 weeks but yeah it's not gone. The milestone thing is totally true! Like those early movements are one big step forward but then yeah soon that relief passes and you're waiting for that next milestone of an established pattern- so the initial relief is shortlived. And then I guess once that established pattern is there, the new anxiety would be being on edge in case it changes.

I guess it's just a matter of finding strategies....I want to get back into my mindfulness and yoga and whatever as that does help me, but yeah just resisting it at the moment for some reason.

Totally agree pregnancy is, in general, one big anxiety fest! For anyone doing animal/safari theme nurseries too I just got a couple of bits from the home range by H&M Smile

I think I might try hypno-birthing, I've heard that's quite good for anxiety. I've had it fairly under control since about 14/15 weeks but its come back a bit now. Once we pass the stage of 'medical viability' in hoping it'll ease again.

As an FTM the triage waiting room was certainly an eye opener. Two women came in in the throws of labour. One literally collapsed on the floor right in front of me and shouted 'I'm going to push' and midwives ran in and whisked her off but it looked her baby was arriving imminently!

I also saw this wall covering which you get made to the exact precision's which I would love as I'm terrible for putting wall stickers etc up.
But not sure if it's a bit much lol

I've didn't know about the medical viability and I'm 24 + 2 so that's nice to know - I have this strange irrational fear of going into early labour -
I think because of giving birth before and remembering the contractions slowly creepy up every little irk scares me!
I was also worried about my caffeine intake but just read on NHS site that 200mg a day is safe so that's ok!

I was just going to come on to say that H&M have some lovely new season baby clothes in, especially for those in team surprise!!!

I got some lovely neutral footed leggings and long sleeved vests. Figure they’ll be good for when we’re establishing life together and not really going anywhere, but nice if someone pops round.

The home stuff is so nice! I already have a few bits for the nursery from there - I’m now on a self imposed ban for all things baby until next month.

Hope everyone is doing fine!? Almost at the 24 week mark - which I feel is a HUGE milestone for us all - 6 months guys!!! Was just looking at my app and it’s 16 weeks until due date. When it’s put like that it feels oh so close and very, very real! X

@nearlyamummyof2boys I am going to get one of my friends to help with the stickers. The reviews suggest they are easy to do, I think they should be okay and they weren’t the cheapest, I looked at a lot online and the cheap ones elsewhere had bad reviews. Going to take my time and go slowly!
Been browsing for more accessories and storage this morning. This was the rug:

m2.hm.com/m/en_gb/productpage.0863063001.html

Storage bags in lovely designs www.dottyhippo.co.uk/storage-hampers/

Mirrors www.dottyhippo.co.uk/jungle-animal-mirrors/

And argos have some great bits too.

Verbaudet looks like it could be dangerous, and 20% off first orders. Found a cute tiger wall storage thingy.

@nearlyamummyof2boys I have this fear aswell I was counting down the days to 24 weeks after my 20 week scan, now I am closer to that I am less anxious. Just so I know there would be a chance, I don’t know why I had it in my head about going into labour early but I was obsessing about it. I think it’s because they give you all these warning signs to look out for and then you have to monitor the movements you know early labour is a possibility and it just makes you worry it can happen any time. I am trying to enjoy this pregnancy now this worry seems to be getting better 😅

@Babyhope98 I'm glad I'm not the only one!

@peachypetite that's lovely I've just seen this on Etsy which is like one big wall sticker I love it!
I also saw a lovely lion basket wall hanging somewhere but can't remember where lol.

22+4 today! How is everyone else's bumps getting along? Mines definitely starting to feel a little firmer.
OH still not managed to feel baby kicking yet either but he does have a habit of falling asleep with his hand on my bump JUST as she starts to do a few kicks 😅

Lovely bump @Amyyy1 my OH hasn't felt either - apparently they can sense a different hand on them and stop moving - whether that's an old wise tale lol!
Had my
First big kick last night that woke me up was strangely relieving

@chubbyhotchoc thanks for the feedback, I find argos pretty good for home that doesn’t break the bank. Having seen how much stuff my friends and family with kids have, the more storage the better!

@Amyyy1 you look lovely. My bump isn't huge but I've put about 18 pounds on as of today and I'm feeling yuck about it

Report
Amyyy1 · 02/08/2020 10:32

@nearlyamummyof2boys I think that must be true, I've felt some quite strong kicks now and they always seem to stop as soon as my OH rushes over to feel🤣

It is sooo reassuring to start feeling movement but I'm sure that will also bring its own anxieties!! No one ever warned me how stressful and nerve wracking pregnancy was lol

@chubbyhotchoc I think I've also put on around 18-20lbs now, my midwife told me as long as I'm eating semi healthy not to worry too much at this stage about weight as people can put it on at slightly different stages through out☺️
