Another new thread for the Nov mums to continue our discussion. It’s nearly time for our dating scans!

I think we have hit the 1000 in the last thread!

My dating scan 1 week today! 😬 I will actually only be 9+4, but my midwife said we have to go by date of my LMP which would put me at 12+3... I did say I had very long and irregular cycles so knew I wasn't that far along but never mind. Just now anxious that I won't get that 12 week confirmation that first trimester is all over safely but will speak to sonographer next week 🤷🏼‍♀️

@cobell my mum also had a tilted womb and had 3 children all born through
C sections. Her children (me as well obviously!) were all between 5.4lb-6.5lb as we ran out of room! But we were all completely fine and her pregnancies were “normal”

@cobell I've got a retroverted uterus too, I only found out a few years ago during an internal scan for ovarian cysts. Apparently in most cases by the second trimester it sorts itself out as it grows so big it can't be one way or the other. Very rarely it gets caught in the pelvis but that's very rare. So shouldn't affect our pregnancies or childbirth!

@Rainbowafterthestorm couldn't post this on the old thread so hopefully you see it here - ahh I have a feeling mine might be the same was really hoping it would be in the 12th week so we could tell people sooner :(! Fingers crossed I get my letter by the end of this week.

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow and today I finally feel “normal”. I hope this is the beginning of the end for my nausea and headaches!

Joining the new thread. @cobell at my last smear I was told I have a “wonky cervix” (clearly a technical term...). I wonder if that means I will have the same thing? I guess I will find out.

@ParisInTheSpringtime during my smear they also said she had trouble finding my cervix dunno what that means 🤷‍♀️😂

It's so good you are here @HarrietM87. I was thinking of you most of yesterday and hoping you would get good news. I must say it did all sound worrying. Its crazy how invested you get in people on this thread you have never met. At 12 weeks, once I have my scan and (fingers crossed) I can actually let myself think about this baby as being long term, I hope to join the facebook group and start putting some faces to names.

Thanks for new thread. I had my booking appt over the phone and fine. Will be consultant led which I was expecting. Got to go in on Monday for bloods and urine. Should get 12 week scan letter by week 10. No husband but I was obviously expecting that.

Just got signed off work, the HG is really ramping up... Oh well 32 weeks to go!

@ParisInTheSpringtime I have a very posterior cervix - it’s really hard for them to find when I have smears etc and I couldn’t have sweeps during my last pregnancy as they couldn’t reach it! (It does move throughout the month but mine doesn’t seem to move much). But my uterus is totally normal and no issues in pregnancy.

The mention of consultant-led care reminds me of a question... I've checked my notes and I'm shared between consultant and midwife. Is that the normal way of things? Do any women have solely midwife-led care?

@seventhrow in my hospital every patient gets a named consultant who is listed in your notes, but most won’t see them unless there are any issues. Even though I have various issues where consultant led care is recommended (hypothyroidism and recurrent miscarriage) I didn’t actually see one in my last pregnancy - everything was through the midwives.

@seventhrow I'm solely midwife led but I think I signed something at my booking appt to say I was happy with that 😊 obviously things can change but I'm very low risk for now so fingers crossed I can get by with midwives only

Talking of consultant led care those who are under consultant care (since covid) what’s happened with your appointments? Have you heard about them?

At my booking appointment midwife said she had sent a referral through for consultant care but I’ve not heard a word since - that was 2 weeks ago?

When does consultant led care kick in?

I'm under part consultant/part midwife care for my under active thryroid and I'll have an apt at 20 weeks but think it depends on why you're being referred as to when it kicks in.

@SqidgeBum tbh some ppl on the fb group didn’t tell us their MN usernames and don’t post here lol so we don’t know who they are.

@Tonicandgin thank you :) the midwife didn’t really tell me anything about what would happen. There are a few reasons for my referral to consultant but one of them is for mental health reasons so I was hoping it would be soon as feel in the lurch at the moment.

I guess I’m not now due to see the midwife until 16 weeks so thinking that I’ll prob see consultant after 20 week scan...

Hello! Just marking my place. I'm 9+6 today and have received my first scan for 7th May when I'll be exactly 13 weeks. All it said was the date and it didn't mention if my husband could come or not

My MS has subsided and the only symptom I have are larger jugs , bloating and needing to pee at night more than usual.

I've just eaten a chicken korma (interestingly enough can't bare the thought of rice) and it was divine. Had a ramen last night. I seem to be swaying to really flavoursome meals now after a few weeks of bland brown carbs.
