Just about to hit 9 weeks and still surprised it all seems to be going ok so far. My luck and my body let me down on a daily basis so still feel quite disconnected (self preservation I think) and expecting something to go wrong.

I've now had my booking appt and am being consultant obs led with a consultant endocrinologist who I see on 4th may and scan booked for 12 th may. Maybe i will feel a bit more excited after that

HarrietM87 · 15/04/2020 15:23

@EBM20 yes I would question it. I was in the same position - my 12 week scan was booked for when I’d be 13+5 based on LMP but I’d already had a scan which showed I was measuring 4 days ahead (so would be 14+2) and therefore too late for the screening. I had to beg my midwife over email and they eventually pushed it back. It’s still fairly late - think I’ll be 13+2 now.

calimommy · 15/04/2020 15:26

@canueve I'm the same, I usually go to the gym everyday and even though I'm trying to run in the evening it's just not the same is it? My fitness is dropping and it pisses me off. I'm literally waiting for the lockdown to ease/end so I can 1. Go back to my gym and 2. Book us into a hotel 😂

calimommy · 15/04/2020 15:30

@kkr168 it could have been the vit. They can exacerbate nausea and even cause it. I have always had to take mine before bed and I can sleep through the nausea otherwise I vomit. You don't need to retake it though just take it again when you normally would, or at bed time!

Fouryearslater · 15/04/2020 15:35

Hooked up to a drip in hospital. Far ftt try on ideal but hopefully they’ll sort the meds.

Also mentioned I’ll get an early scan now! Wouldn’t recommend the method though!

LozEliza · 15/04/2020 15:39

@ChasingTheSunshineAlways how many weeks are you?

@Rainbowafterthestorm
@Rolly123 it's comforting to know others are in the same boat. I was panicking because my symptoms have become more manageable (although still present) but reassured by pregnancy apps and the midwife this is just because the placenta is taking over. FC these period feelings mean the bump is coming as I'm desperate for one! I have also noticed loads of discharge the past couple of days too.

kkr168 · 15/04/2020 15:41

@Natopp & @calimommy that is so interesting to hear, I usually take the multi vitamin at night, don't know why I didn't today!! I will go back to taking it at night instead, hopefully that solves it.

bluebell94 · 15/04/2020 15:43

Ahh @Fouryearslater I hope they sort you out and you're feeling a bit better Sad x

SqidgeBum · 15/04/2020 15:45

Finally they are helping you @Fouryearslater. Hopefully this will all help xx

Pink15 · 15/04/2020 15:49

@BuffaloCauliflower as if she said that 😂😂 will be interested to hear what they say about the shape of my womb at my scan tomorrow haha

ParisInTheSpringtime · 15/04/2020 15:54

@calimommy I am desperate to go back to the gym. I miss my gym buddies!!

Chuckem15 · 15/04/2020 16:01

@EBM20 @harrietM87 I have my 12 week scan at 13+5 too (I'm 9+2 today) and I was wondering the same. I mentioned it at my blood test appt yesterday as I thought it might be a bit late for some tests (also feels ages to wait!) but she said that was fine. Tempted to text the other midwife though who seemed nicer. I guess the only good thing about a later scan is maybe DH will be allowed along by then?

Also, re discharge chat, I've had so much (watery) since conception. Way more than usual, if anything its dried up recently 😬 sorry if TMI too

canueve · 15/04/2020 16:02

thanks @HarrietM87 for some reason this kinda scared me Grin

not at all @calimommy, I am just not as motivated. I can run on treadmills but struggle on the street. Would love some time away too, I had to cancel a trip to Madrid because of it and was so looking fwd.

@ParisInTheSprintime - it's just not the same is it!!

Lulubon · 15/04/2020 16:03

Hey can I join? Bit late to the party. First pregnancy; I'm 9 weeks, I have had a scan already as I had a ectopic pregnancy scare but all was thankfully well! (Even got to see the babies heart beating away)

I've got my first midwife app on the phone on Friday. What should I expect from the call because obviously we can't have bloods etc done?

canueve · 15/04/2020 16:08

hey @Lulubon welcome and to everyone new.

I'm 9 too this week and glad to hear all is well.

The appt is quite boring and basic, they will ask personal questions and family history. Nothing too difficult or exciting tbh.
You will probably have a blood exam together with your scan, so you don't have to leave the house twice.

HarrietM87 · 15/04/2020 16:16

@Chuckem15 do you know when you tend to ovulate? It’s only likely to be an issue if you ovulate early (ie pre day 14 of your cycle) as this is what would put you ahead. I think it’s much more normal to be later than earlier so it may be ok.

BuffaloCauliflower · 15/04/2020 16:18

@Pink15 yeh I was a bit Confused but amused more than anything! I think in the event he pointed every which way Grin

@Lyris I feel similarly, 9 weeks today and because nothing has seemingly gone wrong I feel like must have but I just don’t know yet.

Lulubon · 15/04/2020 16:19

@canueve thank you! That’s exciting you’re 9 weeks too. I found it so weird going from my last period date to the actual week of pregnancy after the scan measurements. Feels like I’ve gone back 2 weeks in time. I find it all confusing tbh!

Good to know about the appointment. Really hard to imagine a large chunk of this pregnancy is going to be over the phone appointments etc. Fingers crossed this corona stuff will be over before the birth Confused

EBM20 · 15/04/2020 16:20

@HarrietM87 @Chuckem15 I rang the scan unit and they said it is later than it should be and to ring in a week to see if any earlier slots become available.
She also reassured me that I won't have to go to the main hospital for the blood tests.
The blood tests are also a concern as I will be having my blood tests that you usualy have at 8-10 weeks at my scan where I will be 13+6!
1st pregnancy and nobody has told me what the blood tests at 8-10 weeks are for! My booking in appointment was over the phone and I felt it was rushed! I feel like I've been left with little support from the midwife! She also told me any concerns to ring my GP or 111 up until 20 weeks, is this normal?

ParisInTheSpringtime · 15/04/2020 16:25

@EBM20 I also feel quite unsupported as a first timer. My midwife seemed to assume that I knew all about what was going on. I have been reading the books “What to Expect” and “Expecting Better “to get my info. Also “Give birth like a feminist”, but that’s not really an informative one.

I was also told 111 or GP.

excitednerves · 15/04/2020 16:28

Oh @Chickoletta I am so so sorry.

excitednerves · 15/04/2020 16:31

I’m 8 weeks today. Still counting down to that elusive scan! Just under 5 weeks to go for me.

I told my boss today as I have to end my maternity leave early to qualify for a second mat leave. Praying everything is ok now that one person outside our bubble knows.

canueve · 15/04/2020 16:35

@Lulubon I too thought I was almost 10 days ahead so it was very weird to go back to being 6 weeks at the time, but because it was a private scan I believe the nhs still treats it from my Lpd and will only change my due date after my 12 weeks scan.

BuffaloCauliflower · 15/04/2020 16:38

@excitednerves how did they take it? How short are you cutting and what will the gap between babies be? I’m pretty sure in the UK you don’t have to back any amount of time before you qualify for maternity leave, you can run then into each other? You have to be back working at a particular time for SMP though

Lulubon · 15/04/2020 16:39

@canueve oh no way! I’m more sad that I’ve still got 3 weeks until the 12 week mark when I thought it was only a week away Blush. Never felt anxiety like it, spend half my day praying everything will be okay! I’ve had a previous miscarriage which has really knocked my confidence this time round.
