Another new thread for the Nov mums to continue our discussion. It’s nearly time for our dating scans!

Huh interesting! Thanks everyone. So I guess, unless it's the hospital standard, I might have been put under joint-care due to having some risks... Probably mental health related, or maybe because my cousin has Downs. My husband's grandmother had a lot of late miscarriages due to heart defects but that's pretty remote. I'll ask when I have my dating scan.

ACatCalledLola · 15/04/2020 12:19

I’m under consultant care for my overactive thyroid. I’m already being seen by an endocrinologist at my local hospital but for various reasons I’ve booked in to give birth at a different hospital so will see a consultant there from 28 weeks. I already have an appointment booked for that. I will also see a consultant at 36 weeks to book in a c-section as I’ve had two previously.

Sakura54 · 15/04/2020 12:23

@seventhrow @Luckyme30 you see a consultant if you have any sort of health issues now or problems with previous pregnancy. My consultant appt was booked at my booking in appt and it’ll be when I’m 18 weeks, as I had different issues last pregnancy.

Sad news from me, ladies, I’m afraid. I had my scan today and it confirmed what we already suspected - the baby (babies, in fact, it was twins) stopped developing at about 7 weeks.

The midwives at the EPU were wonderful. I now have to go back in 10 days if I haven’t lost the pregnancy naturally.

Devastated, obviously, but I feel like we’ve been preparing ourselves for this ever since Saturday. Ready to move forward now.

burntpinky · 15/04/2020 12:26

@fouryearslater sorry I missed your question yesterday. Cyclizine and Metaclopromide. Not eliminated the nausea but am no longer sick and feel better on them than off them as I discovered as I have been trying to wean off them but sickness just returns. They do wipe me out however

burntpinky · 15/04/2020 12:29

@Chickoletta so so sorry to hear this. I don’t really have any words to help so just sending love xx

@Chickoletta I'm so sorry, how awful. Thanks

Rainbowafterthestorm · 15/04/2020 12:45

@Chickoletta, Im so sorry to hear this. Take care of yourself, it’s a horrible time.
@ACatCalledLola mine is booked in for dead on 13 weeks but I can’t help think I’ve got my dates wrong (I fell pregnant straight after a MC) so I actually think I’m further along than we think.
@Natopp, my symptoms seem to be subsiding, I’m just starving all the time. The OH caught me in the kitchen at 11am making a sandwich, asked me if it was my lunch, told him that today I’m having elevenses and twoses.

FilthyforFirth · 15/04/2020 12:47

Yeah I also wasnt told when the care would kick in. My midwife said to expect phone/video consultations unless they deemed in necessary.

LozEliza · 15/04/2020 12:48

@Chickoletta I am so so sorry to hear this thinking of you Thanks

FilthyforFirth · 15/04/2020 12:49

@Chickoletta I’m so sorry, sending my love x

LozEliza · 15/04/2020 12:50

I have started to get period type feelings in my stomach today at 10+1 and I haven't had this since around 5 weeks. I googled it and this came up as the top search

Mild stomach cramps]] are common around ten weeks pregnant (they usually feel milder than period cramps), and they’re often described as a slight tugging sensation in your abdomen. That’s your uterus beginning to stretch as it grows at an exponential rate.

Thought it might also be helpful to others if anyone else is experiencing the same?

Natopp · 15/04/2020 12:52

@Chickoletta sending you lots of love xx

ChasingTheSunshineAlways · 15/04/2020 12:58

I missed threads 2&3 as they went to fast. Glad to be catching up here. As of yesterday all my symptoms have disappeared and I called my OBGYN office (I'm not in the U.K.) but my doctor hasn't called me back. Hoping she will today as my next scan isn't until next weds.

@Chickoletta I'm very sorry to hear your news. I was keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Pink15 · 15/04/2020 13:01

@Chickoletta so sorry to hear this. Thinking of you Thanks

Pcosandpregnant · 15/04/2020 13:01

@Chickoletta I am so so sorry. I hope you’re as okay as you can be xx

Sakura54 · 15/04/2020 13:03

@ACatCalledLola the midwife said she was going to refer me to the VBAC team but I said ‘no’. She was all like ‘Hm so you don’t want to try VBAC? I’ll refer you to Birthing Options to discuss’. I asked if that was necessary as I’m not changing my mind, but apparently it’s their policy to refer people. She then said I can talk to the consultant about it and maybe they will cancel that appt. Like piss off lol I’d rather not have pointless extra appts to ‘talk’, unless they’re going to check me over!

Placemarking, thanks for the new thread.

@Chickoletta I'm so sorry to hear your news.

I'm midwife led but as I understand it if the pregnancy ends up being anything less than straightforward, that'll change and I'll be bumped to consultant led.

I also have a tilted uterus. I was told it's a bit like being left handed - doesn't really make a difference, although they can't always find my ovaries on scans. Might be unrelated? Seemingly it can also right itself during pregnancy - at least that's what I was told at the private scan.

Rolly123 · 15/04/2020 13:08

@LozEliza I am glad you posted that because I had that last night (10 weeks) but didn't want to google it!
