Have 3 lovely girls and am pg with 4th. I am hoping beyond hope that this baby is another girl. My scans on Tuesday and I'm making myself ill with thoughts it might be a boy.

I've been so lucky so far with getting girls, just praying its another beautiful girl. Anyone else have a gender preference?

What makes you so adverse to a boy?

honeyapple · 09/03/2007 10:06

This is weird. What the hell is wrong with having a boy?

Is this a joke???

RanToTheHills · 09/03/2007 10:07

oh FGS! Are you after an argument,WMP?
we've all got a 50/50 chance ofthis, and guess what, some boys are almost human!

sorry, I guess you'rejust hormonal.

finecheese · 09/03/2007 10:07

Hello, I have 3 sisters and am totally girly. for some bizarre reason I always therefore I'd have a girl, but then hey, I had a boy. was slightly nervous about it as don't have baby boy experience at all. but you know what? he is the coolest.

Just out of interest, why do you think you prefer girls? and what is it about a boy that makes you think you wouln't want one?

colditz · 09/03/2007 10:08

Boys are lovely too, they asre far nicer than girls. Only people with just girls don't realise it.

piglit · 09/03/2007 10:08

boys rock

Uki · 09/03/2007 10:08

Are you scared of the unknown????? Sounds weird to me to have 3 of one and want another.

buktus · 09/03/2007 10:08

too be quite frank with you as long its healthy alive and crying i dont think anybody could ask for more imo

lulumama · 09/03/2007 10:08

well, your husband was a boy once, so they are not that bad

why are you so worried about having a boy? unsure of how to cope with a different gender? am a little concerned you are ill with thoughts you are carrying a boy..sounds quite strong

ledodgy · 09/03/2007 10:09

I have a girl and a boy. Boys are different but just as fab!

ledodgy · 09/03/2007 10:10

Their pooey nappies are easier to change too as their testicles stop it going all up the front!

NotanOtter · 09/03/2007 10:10

very true colditz

i have both but 4 boys and 1 girl

I am very girly myself but thank the lord i got 4 boys and not the other way around!

Hopeitwontbebig · 09/03/2007 10:10

I have 2 boys, and they are an absolute delight. Yes boys are different to girls, they can sometimes play more roughly and bang about more, but both my boys are COMPLETELY different, my youngest is quiet and gentle and a really cuddly boy. So you can't tar all boys with the same brush, they are individuals and incredibly rewarding.

I'm pregnant with 3rd, and TBH before I fell, I was desperate for a girl, now I really don't mind.

Boys are lovely too.

Aloveheart · 09/03/2007 10:12

I'm very privallaged to have one of each. I am very lucky and If i wanted another i wouldn't mind what i got as long as it was healthy.

DetentionGrrrl · 09/03/2007 10:13

i thought when i opened this that perhaps there was some genetic disorder you were hoping to avoid in a boy, but it seems that you're one of those parents. I hope it is a girl, so at least it'll know it was wanted.

with all the problems, illness and loss some suffer with their kids, you're pissing and moaning about it maybe being a boy?

ScummyMummy · 09/03/2007 10:14

I wanted girls but got boys and they were nicer than i expected so i decided to keep them.

some people can't have kids or have problems all throughout pregnancy etc..it's not fair that you're moaning as it might be a boy. fgs.

octopussyintummy · 09/03/2007 10:15

I understand! I have two boys and expecting no.3 in april - really really wanted a girl - there are 9 grandsons and no girls in our family and it would have been lovely! Turns out it is a boy and I am actually really happy about it - think it will be easier to have all the same sex - so do understand! also think will be really cute to have 3 the same.

Good luck and try not to worry about it - my husband thinks he only does boy sperm and wants to have another one after this one - NOT!!!!!

WantingMorePink · 09/03/2007 10:16

I don't dislike boys (or men) for that matter. For the first 2 I was happy either way if boy or girl. But now I have 3 dd's I want another. This will be last pg and think having a boy after 3 girls will upset our family dynamic.

Thought long and had about this before getting pg as was soooooooooooo pleased dd3 was a girl but decided I wanted another baby first (whether boy or girl) over just another baby girl but now I'm in situation I'm not so sure.

Must say I'm suprised people think its weird! If I was desperate for a boy after 3 girls would that be any better????

But, yeah I may be ill Feel like I'm pushing my luk having 4 as it is.

Jeeeeeez!
Come and spent the afternoon here with me and my delightfully gorgeous scumptious bundle of pudginess who just so happens to be my 4TH boy.

They're not that bad, you know???

octopussyintummy · 09/03/2007 10:16

scummymummy!

ComeOVeneer · 09/03/2007 10:17

Ah the age old arguements have come out again. Yes we all know the most important is a happy healthy baby and that some people aren't able to have children, however you can't help the way you feel. one of "those" parents is a rather cruel comment.

compo · 09/03/2007 10:17

aw, boys are so cuddly and loveable

shonaspurtle · 09/03/2007 10:19

When he/she is born you won't care as either way they will be an utterly adorable newborn.

FWIW, I don't think what you're feeling is odd or wrong. You're not saying you won't love your baby if he's a boy just that you're worried about how you'll feel about it.

I secretly hoped my baby would be a girl. Didn't find out in advance, got a boy and wouldn't swap him or change anything about him for the world. You will feel the same if it comes to it.
