Katsh - alot of EPU's want a doctors referral, but you don't necc have to got into the surgery. It was enough for me to request this on the phone of my GP and tell her why. She then faxed the referral direct to the EPU and I got seen same day.

As others have said, speak to the EPU and they'll tell you how to proceed.

Hope it goes ok.xx

Hi all, a few of you know me but for those who don't im just over 9 weeks following a missed miscarriage last Oct.

I know that period cramps are quite common early on but I have had a few today and didn't realise I would still be getting them. They are very very faint and I have more and more pg symptoms each day it seems, so im not too worried, just wondered if they could be something I get the whole way through?

Thankyou FS. I can't remember how far you are?

Katsh-I too had an early scan by ringing GP and requesting that he refer which he did, I got an app about a week later I think.

Dear all, just popping over from the TTC threads to say 'Hi' and wishing you all happy pregnancies. You are all an inspiration to me and one of my aims in life is to get on to this thread sometime soon!

Glad to hear your pregnancies are doing so well.

MrsFish · 12/02/2007 17:38

Hi Edie, I had a missed miscarriage last October too, and am now approx 7 weeks pregnant. I have had some cramping a week or so ago and up until saturday was having morning sickness too, not had any for two days, I should be grateful I know, but now, other than sore boobs I don't have any other symptoms, I sort of miss it because now I am starting to worry slightly. Anyone else finish ms so early on?

EdieMcredie · 12/02/2007 18:22

Well done FS!!

Hi MrsFish, I also became worried as my sickness started to become on and off instaed of constant but really try not to worry (get a scan if you can't stop though!!)

I bet in a couple of days you will be throwing up again xxxxxxxxxxx

stretchmarks · 12/02/2007 18:37

HI Edie,

Iam currently 15 weeks after a missed MC last Aug. I had cramping and stretching pains up until last week they seem to have eased now.

MrsFish I also found my morning sickness was very sporadic this time unlike previous pregnancies. I'd feel/be sick for days then nothing and start worrying , then it would return and I didn't know if I should be grateful or not !!!!!

As firststar says it does get easier as time passes. I had my dating scan last week at 14+2 (had previous early scan at 8 weeks)it's only since that last scan (and an expanding waistline) that I can really begin to believe that this pregnancy is going as it should.

bobbynog · 12/02/2007 19:35

Firstly, welcome to all the new comers. And secondly, sorry i haven't posted for absolutely yonks! Everything seemed to be getting on top of me.
For anyone who doesn't remember me (i wont be offended) i had a missed miscarriage last feb, and to update my story ds safely entered this world 2 weeks ago.
I guess i just wanted to say thanks for all the kind words and support i had throughout the miscarrriage and pregnancy.
Good luck to everyone on this thread - it is hard, and it will probably be tough right up until you are holding your bundle of joy. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Katsh · 12/02/2007 21:06

Thanks for all the advice on scans. Just curious - did anyone not have an early scan, and simply wait until the dating scan at 12+ weeks? My dh surprised me tonight by suggesting that we do that - his view being, it won't change anything, and why not carry on assuming all is well. I'm not sure I go with that, but wondered if anyone else has managed to hold out! My GP holds the same view, as does my MW ( who I spoke with today).

Katsh · 12/02/2007 21:06

sorry - clarification - GP and MW think no point in early scans

StrangeTown · 12/02/2007 21:13

I was going to wait until the 12 week scan, bit like your DH, just wanted to carry on as if everything was OK.
Am now having a scan tomorrow however, as am having bleeding and cramps.
I am terrified, but obviously want to know what's happening, my GP is pretty sure it is another m/c.

2 very different schools of thought I suppose, if it will give you some reassurance and allow you to enjoy the early weeks of your pregnancy then do it. I do see what your MW and DH mean though, in that it won't change the 12 week outcome. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Katsh · 12/02/2007 21:43

Thinking of you now ST. Hope it's not a m/c.

StrangeTown · 12/02/2007 21:50

Thanks Katsh - didn't mean to hijack your thread...sorry!

MrsFish · 12/02/2007 22:06

My thoughts are with you ST, hope tomorrow goes well.

pinkranger · 12/02/2007 22:21

thought are with you ST -

Katsh - I have become a scan junky since my m/c, i am 13 weeks nearly and had 4
1@6 weeks due to bleed (nhs)
8 weeks because i was convied there was something wrong (private)
10 weeks ( and also 14 weeks) for the Nuchal (private)
12 weeks dating (nhs)

i found that they put my mind to rest !

Edie - 9 weeks already , thats has gone so quick IYKWIM

STechmarks - great to see you , have been keeping an eye out, so pleased for you hun, 15 weeks already you must only be a few weeks ahead of me!!!!

StrangeTown · 12/02/2007 22:55

Pink Ranger do you mind my asking what happened at the 6 week scan? How much were you bleeding? Nice to see a positive outcome eg someone bleeding but then things progressing OK.

Glad everything is OK now for you!

Thanks

pinkranger · 13/02/2007 07:57

ST - was about 6+2 and had Bright red bleeding also with some cramps, went to my GP and they got me into the EPU as soon as they could but as it was christmas has to wait (had scan when i was 7 weeks) - turned out that they couldnt see any reason why i bleed, picked up HB.

I know its really hard but try stay calm, they are lots of us on here who have bleed xxx

Good Luck today will be thinking of you xx

pinkranger · 13/02/2007 07:59

just re read my message and didnt really answer you -sorry,

had to have an internal scan they didnt even attemp to do a normal one. Only bleed once when i wiped myself xx

Mumpbump · 13/02/2007 09:31

Morning all! I am in two minds about whether to have an early scan or wait. I was all for an early scan, but now thinking that perhaps I should just wait for the usual nuchal scan. It would be fab if they did get a hb at 8 weeks, but I'm a bit nervous about them not picking it up because it might have a negative effect on my state of mind. Decisions, decisions... Anyway, I'm going to see my doctor later this week so think I will see how I feel on the day!

stretchmarks · 13/02/2007 09:42

HI Mumpbump,

I went for a private scan at 8 weeks. They should be able to pick up HB at 8wks can be difficult before then. I had the scan purely to reassure myself that everything was ok and it wasn't until we were in the scan and saw the LO and I couldn't stop crying that I realised how pent up with worry I was. It certainly helped me get to my next scan date.

Pink - it's nice to be back on here have been so scared about talking about this pregnancy in case it went wrong again, but with my expanding waistline and scan pictures to remind me I am finally thinking that we'll make it. I can't wait for August !!!!!!

pinkranger · 13/02/2007 10:18

i thought the same thing is morning , had to put on a maternity skirt and then it hit me , we are actully going to have this baby!!!

Uki · 13/02/2007 10:58

Hi All

Mump- Thanks for the flowers, it was sweet of you to organise.

You should definately see a hb at 8 weeks. I decided not to have the earlier scan last time, and had a missed m/c. So rteally wanted to know this time, i think before 8 weeks is to early though.I understand your dilema, but at 8 and more so at 9 or 10 you have a fantastic chance -did you see the article i posted on last thread?

Hi Pink-i have been wondering how you are. Glad all is well.

Strangetown-really hope all is ok for you.
