After the inital shock of finding out I am pregnant again, I have started bleeding today. Phoned the emergancy gp and of course he said that it could be a miscarriage, so he tried to get me an appointment at the EPU but noone is there, so I have to phone my gp tomorrow.. I have a very slight pain on my right hand side, and the bleeding is light. I asked about ectopic pregnancy and he said I would be in serevre pain, which I am not.

I bled at the same stage with DD, 5/6 weeks. I had an early scan (on New Year's eve 2001) and all was fine. Hope it all turns out ok for you too.

auntymandy · 01/01/2007 17:05

Nothing would show on a scan then would it?
so you are just 1 week late with AF?

SparklyGothKat · 01/01/2007 17:06

I believe that they will be able to see a sac, and a grain of rice, but not a heartbeat.

I was told nothing before 6 weeks.
If you go to emergancy unit wont they be able to do a scan?

ShowOfHands · 01/01/2007 17:20

Oh no. I was where you are in September but was 7wks with bleeding and slight cramps on one side.

I went to A&E and was immediately scanned on a ward not in the EPU.

I was fine, currently 21wks and baby is fine too. I know how frightening it is, but remember that something like 40% of people bleed in the first trimester.

Will be thinking of you.

SparklyGothKat · 01/01/2007 17:26

I started bleeding about 2 hours ago, and its less than a teaspoon worth, just there when I wipe. There is no point going to the hospital as they will send me away till tomorrow

Sorry, SGK

Lots of positive stories on here though. Fingers crossed for you.

lucykate · 01/01/2007 17:52

i sympathise with you on this, i bled til 23 weeks with dd. its very scary. all you can do is take it easy and phone in the morning. don't be too surprised if it seems like its heavier in the morning, it will pool overnight, then come out when you get up, this is what i was told. it could be implantation bleeding, not neccesserily a m/c. they might not be able to be conclusive if you have a scan tomorrow, as its so early on, but they can take blood, test the hormone levels, then test again in a couple of days to see if its rising. that gives results quicker than waiting for another scan to see if there's a heartbeat next time.

oxocube · 01/01/2007 17:53

Another positive story here! I bled from about 6 - 14 weeks with my 3 kids. Hospital put it down to low hormone levels but the pregnancies continued and all was normal. Its horrid though ( I have also had 2 m/c so know how you must be feeling) Good luck

Sparkly, I had bleeding with ds, almost like a normal period complete with my usual stomach cramps etc and didn't even realise I was pregnant until quite a few days later. For the next 2 months I had very slight bleeding (brown blood) around the time my period would have been due.

Finger crossed for you.

My sister was my Mum's 8th pg, yet Mum didn't know until she was 6 months gone as for the first time she bled each motnh.

Or could be an implantation bleed couldn't it?

BibiJesus · 01/01/2007 18:07

Light bleeding in early pg is common, please try not to worry (too much), keeping it all crossed for tomorrow for you. x
