Agree with hunker-only like James. Lucas is almost OK, but would prefer Luke.

Pinkchampagne · 30/11/2006 12:57

I like Lucas best out of the names you have listed.

clairemow · 30/11/2006 12:58

also like Lucas best out of the listed ones. And James. Really don't like the others.

But it's your baby, not mine, so go with what YOU like!

3andnomore · 30/11/2006 13:01

difficult one...don't think Kai James wors at all though!
really like Lucas, Harley and Kaydon...but think I like Lucas the best!

TooTickyDoves · 30/11/2006 13:03

Lucas

tissy · 30/11/2006 13:03

IMO Kai and Kaydon sound like "made up" names, and Harley reminds me of motorbikes.

vesela · 30/11/2006 13:46

Lucas or James.

SilentBite · 30/11/2006 13:47

Lucas is ok
I don't like any of the others sorry

spykid · 30/11/2006 13:47

I have a James already and the name Lucas entered my head this morning at a possibility for this baby. Ruled it out though as it reminds me of Lucifer to much.

Don't like any of the others, sorry.

Were do you get Kai from? Kai is Maori for food. Although lots of white kiwis don't know much Maori we allll know "kai", as in, "good kai, eh?" "Yeah, sweet as."

babyox · 30/11/2006 14:12

I like james...solid,strong..gender specific name!...Remember you can always make it cooler with abbrevaiations , J, Jammy...jamie

babyox · 30/11/2006 14:14

By the way our DS's middle name is Jupiter...so you an always go a bit out there with the middle name!

Twohootsunderthemistletoe · 30/11/2006 14:29

Just been to toddlers this morning and there were 2 newborn babies there - both called Lucas! Friend due next week - wants Lucas. If you are happy to have a fairly popular name then go with it.... Also know 4 Lukes my DD's age (19 mo).

Sorry don't want to offend anyone but think it's a popular one at the mo. I really like James - would that be no good as a first name - fairly traditional, won't go out of 'fashion' IYSWIM.

Having said that we went for a fairly traditional name for DD and thought it wasn't that popular - turns out there are 3 (inc her) in her nursery group!!! So you never know....

shhhh · 30/11/2006 14:53

imo I think this is the problem you will face having a boy..The fact that there are so many with the same names iykwim.
Boys names are so hard to think of and decide upon..I know coz dh & I are having the same issues..!!

BUT naming dd was easier..!! Girls are easier to name..lots of nice names out there even "made up" names are fine..BOYS however..you have to think of when he's 30 and MD of a company . I think a girl could get away with it.
