Hello all. Yes, I think kat has her section today. Sending good thoughts.

I am in what seems to be latent labour. After about 8-9 hours of fairly regular contractions, around 5 mins apart, we went in late last night to find cervix effaced and 2cm dilated. Of course, then they promptly ground to a halt. Confused
By that point I was so tired we came back home, and I slept through until about 10. They now seem to have virtually stopped, so I'm bouncing on my gym ball and hoping they restart soon. Envy

Tough to know how to marshal my energy when I have no idea how long this phase is go

PoppySeedBun · 24/04/2014 11:46

That should be 'going to last'
Stupid phone. Angry

So don't get too comfortable waiting quite yet!

Brodicea · 24/04/2014 11:57

Oo, good vibes for kat in that case - and to you poppy: I hope those contractions return (how frustrating!).

Hang on in there!!

BlindKitty · 24/04/2014 12:11

tal how'd the hv appt go? Sure she's not expecting the house to be spotless says she who frantically cleaned the house before the mw came

brod Grin @ the big stick! He sounds like a keeper!

Go kat!

poppy keep bouncing! Hopefully they'll restart again soon!

So mw says the kitten is in a perfect position and although not impossible, is unlikely to move now given she's my first Grin. She let me feel her FEET (the baby's that is not hers!) which was quite surreal! Grin. So excited now!
Uh really should go to work now but can't be arsed!!!

How frustrating Poppy, hope the contractions pick up again soon!

CatsCantFlyFast · 24/04/2014 12:25

Ooh poppy! Sleep and eat as much as you can, then you will be ready whatever happens. When's your due date?

PoppySeedBun · 24/04/2014 12:30

Thanks all
merk due date was ironically yesterday! Trying to do things to keep energy up, but just want to get on with things now.
kitty how exciting! I haven't been able to feel anything but feet for weeks - my little one has been rejoicing at kicking them into my side for some time Envy
brod your DH does sound like he's being a star. Mine doesn't really know what to do now - hard to send him off to work if it could all kick off again in an hour or so, but also it could be days. And he had almost no sleep last night. Blush

Brodicea · 24/04/2014 12:32

It must have been lovely to feel those feet kitty! I can't make out much in my tummy unfortunately. I would be well giddy and unable to work too!

Go poppy! (trying to continue to cheer-lead!)

My labour-watch: I thought some waters may have leaked out in the night last night, but nothing much came of it - I think I just have more lady-juice at the mo… or I am incontinent Confused just been for a ten minute walk, determined to get things moving (although I have another ten days until the due date).

Brodicea · 24/04/2014 12:34

Oo, cross-post!

SidneyBristow · 24/04/2014 12:45

Ooh found you guys! I lost the thread on my phone from epic MN hacking incident, and am just catching up from being out of town. All our families know about the baby now Grin Announcements went well, apart from expected MIL shenanigans. Next time she tries to snatch my shirt up to see my bump, she'll get her arm ripped off Dragon

kat sending you good vibes for today!
poppy all sounds very promising! wishing your contractions a speedy return and an easy entry into the world for your baby.
kitty has your nausea tapered off at all, or has it been steady this whole time? I really feel for you - for a few weeks I wasn't confident I could take it mentally, but (please don't throw something) now I feel great. If it can happen to me, it can happen to you, I promise. I'm having ligament pains as well so we can be stabby-pain soulmates Wink
woot kitty and your perfectly positioned baby! How'd you manage that? blind luck? (har har)
merk hoping baby E realizes how heavenly a long nap can be very soon Thanks
waves to everyone else!

Tallyra · 24/04/2014 13:11

Ooh, exciting!!! I'm settled nicely in my feeding chair / labour watch chair waiting for our next additions.
Hv was ok. She says I'm doing well with the breast feeding and the bonding is going well. Imogen is between 25th and 50th centile for weight, height and head circumference so that's all in proportion. Only thing wrong is a bit of jaundice. I can't bring myself to put her in the sun when she seems to hate it so much but I must try harder. Hv didn't do an inspection as such, just talked about stuff as we got to it, and warned me about carbon monoxide poisoning with the log burner and hot ash.

CatsCantFlyFast · 24/04/2014 18:42

Tally

Tallyra · 24/04/2014 20:06

yes?

CatsCantFlyFast · 24/04/2014 20:48

Ha! That's how tired I was earlier!
I was going to say how we all seem to get such different HV checks.
E hasn't been measured (head or length yet). And for jaundice we were told the sun was old fashioned advice and that stuffing them with breastmilk at least every 3 hours was the solution

Bunnygirlie · 24/04/2014 21:11

Any news, any news? kat poppy

Ooh kitty perfect position eh? Maybe you'll get an early kitten Grin

I'm fed up of feeling grot and tired and sick and blah! Baby brain seems to have set in, nearly forgot DHs birthday is next week! Doh!

PoppySeedBun · 25/04/2014 05:57

Morning berries. Just a quick update to say that baby girl (no name yet) was born 8:12pm on Thursday 24th.
All well - more to follow. Grin Grin Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 25/04/2014 06:34

PuppyMummy · 25/04/2014 08:35

Brodicea · 25/04/2014 10:55

Thanks

(will shortly be checking the list to see if it's me up next…. gulp!)

Brodicea · 25/04/2014 10:58

oh, yes it is - hopefully sooner rather than later! Ooer though Confused

Angelina77 · 25/04/2014 13:07

Congratulations poppy and kat, looking forward to more birth stories and photos :)

CatsCantFlyFast · 25/04/2014 13:10

Blooming heck, the next 2 due are girls too. That will be 9 out of 9 babies in 2014
Brod, not long now

PuppyMummy · 25/04/2014 14:19

brod it is you, then kitty then me! how exciting!

I hav hospital bag pretty much done, birth plan written and we hav had a play with pram and car seat! feel we may have peaked too soon as are now reduced to waiting!

Brodicea · 25/04/2014 14:40

I can't really believe it will be so close!

Went to my 38 week appointment just now (at 38 +4 for me), and my next appointment should she not be here, will be the 9th May. By then I will be considering induction as I am so impatient (although induction is unpleasant - I wonder if I could ask for a sweep at that appointment…?).

She is head-down, but not full engaged in the pelvis which is frustrating. Planning on spending the rest of the afternoon on the birthing ball. Come on baby! - I think I want her here ASAP at times, at others I am happy to have a bit of time to myself!

puppy nothing wrong with being prepared! We had everything done far too soon as my SIL had our nephew at 32 weeks so we were paranoid. At this rate, I'll be waiting for ages too - already thinking of re-washing the baby clothes (madness).

We should have our run of girls come to an end, and then there is a crop of surprises and boys so you never know, maybe the second half of the year will be male dominated.

BlindKitty · 25/04/2014 19:17

poppy amazing news!!!! Can't wait for pics!!

brod I think the last girl is mine so not for another 4 weeks (probably!)

sid I think you're getting me mixed up with bunny! No nausea here!

So sad news today, my friend, for those of you who met her has mc again. So she's been ttc for 5 years now, got pg both times that she took progesterone but unfortunately hasn't worked out Sad. I'm so sad for her, I really am. I just wish I could make everything ok. tally can I ask, was it you under the care of a mmc consultant?
