Hey all! Dicking station made me laugh!

I feel your pain kitty - puked up some of my dinner last night, puked up first thing this morning and puked up again after breakfast - had also been feeling dizzy and seeing stars after the puking. Called the maternity assessment centre and they reckon I have a gastric bug that has been going around Sad so had to cancel roast dinner at MILs and have had zero chocolate. Been watching Columbo, crocheting and napping. I had been worried about the dreaded pre-eclampsia but I don't have a headache so I hope it is just a pesky bug - being 38 weeks is hard enough thanks!

Anyway, despite my moan very glad it is a nice day weather-wise and I hope you all have had a good one!

brod as much as I'd like to accept your sympathy I'm afraid you meant to address that last post to bunny . I've had an easy ride the whole way through really, minus a few minor ailments! Hope you're feeling better soon

Oh brod you poor thing! sounds like you had it worse than me big time!

Had some strange twingey pain earlier, it was a bit like a very painful stitch under bump on righthand side. Could hardly walk for a while. Not sure if it's from overdoing it dancing at the gig yesterday or bending over baking this morning. Have you guys had anything like this?

Report
Tallyra · 20/04/2014 22:01

I had that a few times bunny. I'm pretty sure it's just a stitch bit it's bloody painful isn't it??

Bunny, could it be round ligament pain? Weird stabby pain just inside the top of your pelvis along a line from hip to groin, caused by ligaments stretching to support the growing bump? Apparently it's more common on the right side which is what made me wonder. I had it at about 17 weeks (it went away after 4-5 days) but I think it can happen any time in the second/third trimester. I was a bit worried by mine at first but the midwife I phoned treated it as entirely routine and entirely to be expected at that stage!

Speaking of symptoms turning up bang on time, I rather enjoyed: www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/apr/20/words-from-the-wise-eva-wiseman - about the uncanny prophetic power of pregnancy apps/websites!

Brod, getting a vomiting bug at 38 weeks is really unfair - hope you feel better soon!

Kitty, as for chill out music, I love Pink Martini's Hang on Little Tomato - the whole album is lovely but the song with that title is really special and great for getting through difficult times. (Thinking about songs and giving birth made me remember "Miracle" from Matilda the Musical - though perhaps not one for the chill out list Wink .)

Hope you've all been having good Easters. We've had a quiet but productive day today - chucking it down with rain so we've been sorting through some boxes of barely-used stuff to try and clear space for baby things! Two big bin bags out the door and various things to go to ebay/charity shops, so we're making progress. I do feel a bit bad for nagging my husband, who hates throwing stuff out, (well, actually, a bit more direct than nagging! More like sitting down next to him with a box of stuff and pulling things out one by one saying "do you need this?" "can I throw this away?") but it was much needed if we're ever to fit a baby and all its associated stuff into this house!

bunny think jess has pretty much explained, as does the article she shared. It's more than likely ligament pain but it doesn't stop you from worrying, I know

jess sometimes they just need a little encouragement push I'm expecting tantrums today from all the one or two jobs I ask Dh to do..

Kitty, he's great at most things around the house and garden so I shouldn't really complain at all, it's just sorting and clearing out that he seems to really dislike!

Bunnygirlie · 21/04/2014 10:58

Ooh jess you might be right! it was just as I stood up off the loo that it hit and it was so painful. I had some stretchy type pains in the early weeks but this was something else. It eased off after a bit but walking down the stairs was difficult.
Assume I should just be worried if it's continued and proper agony?

Is the blooming stage ever gonna happen? I just feel blah, the sickness continues, itchy dry skin, awful skin on my face, few headaches, tiredness.....

Talking of DHs, I wish I could get mine to throw stuff out, he has sooooooo much crap!!! I counted the other day, over 2 wardrobes, he has 76 shirts!!!

Bunny, it's probably worth checking with some medical professional just to be on the safe side because there are other things (less likely) that it might be. Hope your bloom turns up soon!

hi berries.
angel I definitely felt different when the baby dropped down/engaged - much more waddling than walking! But I still end up with feet/knees/whatever pushed up into my ribs now and then anyway. I have found spending time on all fours or on my gym ball helps to ease the pressure if its in my chest.
kitty if anything, my indigestion started playing up more after I got to about 35/36 weeks.
brod TBH, your level of weekend activity sounds about the same as mine, and I don't even have the excuse of a stomach bug Blush
bunny does sound a bit like ligament pain, but do get it checked out - there's no such thing as too much checking!
I have to say, I don't think I've bloomed once during this pregnancy. Some weeks have been OK, and less troublesome, but haven't exactly felt good at any stage - but I know that's not the same for everyone.

Oops sorry for the wrong direction there kitty and bunny. Am feeling almost back to normal today, just a strange dairy aversion which is an abrupt about-turn from my pregnancy diet of mozzarella, cereal and glasses of cold milk. Probably for the best as I have jowls!

I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait just to be able to walk upstairs at a good speed and bend down without stabbing groin or burger pains - maybe you have to get to the point where you would trade this for sleepless nights and being covered in baby bodily substances, and then you will get your wish… jeepers!

Evening!

Been googling and think it must have been the ligament thing, seems milder today but like a strain from too many sit ups. Having a nice bath now Easter Smile

bunny thinking about it, I had a pain just like that from getting out of bed one night, making me think it was ligament pain

poppy have noticed I need the calcium carbonate a lot less the last few days so I'm hoping she's dropping. No massively heavy feelings yet but do have occasional twinge, alongside a movement like I have a uti but then they disappear again and I don't have any other uti symptoms

merk poor you, it must be awful. Are you planning to co-feed soon so you can have a break?

Sounds like its a but if a sicky week all round -just been sick half way through my curry. Managed to finish it after a short though, now its just heatburn central!
kitty & puppy the nursery is geting there, put a chest of drawers together yesterday and have a windowsil to tile and a bit of the woodwork and the radiator left to paint.
Sitting upnright at work was really uncomfortable today, baby on the move and stretching a lot. No idea how people work until the end, I have 4 weeks to go and will struggle with that I think.

off for part 2 of 3d scan tomorrow, baby not in a great position on Saturday, arm infront of face and right up against wall, hope its beter tomorrow but there is not much room in there!

It is quiet isn't it!

Exciting re changing bag puppy, nice to get all the final bits sorted. I have yet to try out the car seat as we don't drive - my mum is coming up this weekend though so will try it out then - hopefully she won't arrive before that!

There are a few annoying final bits I need DH to do, which are beginning to annoy me. But as he works all day, cooks, cleans and washes up at the mo, I feel a tad cheeky moaning about them… we have a list, am sure he'll get to them!

OMG I think we are seeing the next crop of berry babies very shortly - I hope so! A small child was actually following me around the supermarket the other day to stare. Then the lady at the till said 'next time I see you, you'll be with your baby!'. No signs yet!

Yeah I am super lucky with the DH. I didn't really realise until one of the NCT women texted 'so tired and I have to clean the whole house before my inlaws get here' and I thought 'WTF Mr Brod does everything!' Blush Poor bugger. He reminds me of how I looked after him after his appendix operation, but that was for two weeks, nothing comported to the, at least, ten weeks he's taken over all the chores! The only thing I do is laundry… I think I need to buy him a present! And a long stick to bat away all the ladies when they find out Smile
