Tally, if nobody else needs it first (there must be dozens of berries before me, surely?) I'd really like to borrow it and pass onto the next berry in turn!

Thanks ladies, I think I am desperate to feel something because I need something positive rather than all this rotten sickness Sad

keri I think a Doppler would just stress me out if I couldn't find the heartbeat. My friend has one so maybe I'll get her to bring it round.

tally jess that's what I was going to say! must be some berries who need it first! Thanks anyway tally.

I remember feeling desperate to feel anything too bunny - it was great when the MW doppled at 16 weeks, but I hear that's quite unusual and they usually wait until later on. It's hard too because you wonder if every little thing is a movement!

I refrained from getting my own doppler in case I became obsessed!

A friend has lent me her tens so I'm all set on that score - love the berry communal shizzle too!

A week from my EDD, and getting increasingly impatient - it could be another few weeks though, which I have to keep in mind. I even took to nipple tweaking in the night (supposed to help) and had some period type pains for about 15 minutes that went away. Am also worried in case my worrying delays the birth - gar.

In other news, my mum has come up North on baby watch and I have a big revelation for her - I have to tell her today about the tattoo I got on my arm …. last year! She is totally anti-tattoos and piercings, especially on her children's bodies (she cried when I got my lip pierced as a teen - have since taken it out!) so I've been putting it off. Having her around when I am semi-naked with the baby in my arms, she'll probably spot it…. scared!

I dipoles at about 14 weeks I think. Expect it to take 15 mins to find the heartbeat the first few times as you get the hang of it

Found you all! Sorry to have dropped off radar, have been hanging out on FB but neglecting my MN duties. How is everyone?

I'm covered in puke today. Given up getting changed, the little darlings are just vomit fountains! You have all this to look forward to ladies!

brod my mum found out about my massive backpiece when she saw it in my wedding photos...luckily she pretended that she liked it!

Totally chickened out again today Sad will try again tomorrow - otherwise it will have to be while I am holding her precious first grandchild and she deffers couldn't get angry!

Yay tally! My lip ring suited me I think, but it has sealed up; I might have it reinserted but I think it's actually a little off centre. I didn't notice that at the age of 17 Smile

I'd get mine put back in but I work in a school in the office where I see all the parents. Sad

bunny you prob would find a hb now. I'd lend you mine but I still occasionally use if baby hasn't moved for a while about an hour If you don't though, don't be upset. Maybe youtube the sound you should be listening for, as it's not quite like a hb at first (I thought it sounded like galloping horses)

brod had to lol at you and your tattoo! You're older now though so I'm sure she'll forgive you!

Grin brod isn't funny how we can still be scared of our parents as grown ups lol I still panic when I swear in front of my mum!

I keep waking up on my back, assume this is ok till I have a weighty bump? When I sleep on my left side I end up hurting my shoulder, they are all achey and crunchy anyway. And I can't take my usual fish oil capsules can I?

Brodicea · 29/04/2014 09:13

I know - it's totally silly! I bet she doesn't care. I have form for building these things up into 'confessions' Hmm very silly.

In other news, my body tricked me into thinking labour was starting last night. Had two - three hours of cramps, 12 minutes apart, lasting about 20 - 40 seconds, then I had one at 15 minutes, 5 minutes, 30 minutes and nothing. The pain was quite strong, like bad period / poo pain but it didn't last for long enough to get really distressing. I wonder if I'm in for a lovely stop / start labour Confused

Oh on fish oil bunny, I think it depends on the mercury levels. I think you can check this by looking at the type of fish? I researched it online in early pregnancy in any case and found that some fish oil was fine.

Tallyra · 29/04/2014 10:27

Sleeping on your back is supposed to be bad as it can obstruct a blood vessel or something. I always had trouble and even if I went to sleep on my side I'd still wake up on my back.

Report
PuppyMummy · 29/04/2014 16:53

bunny some fish oil is fine. I take the omega oil that comes in pregnacare plus with the vit tablet.

also I sleep on my left side but also keep waking up on my back, im 35+3 and trust me hav a very weighty bump but it doesn't seem to be causing any probs. I just turn myself back onto my side.

in other distressing news here, I hav had to abandon my maternity work trousers cos they r now to small!!!! I am clearly humongous! on the plus side I wore leggins to work and was lovely and comfy!!

Report
Foodylicious · 29/04/2014 17:04

puppy I have abandoned a lot of my mat clothes too, I now have 1 pair of mat trousers that fit(ish) and about 3-4tops. My leggings from H&M were fab but I now need to get some more in a large as the medium are just too tight. I have some fantastic 'back boobs' and all my pants are feeling very small.
Have a couple of dresses I can wear over leggings.
7 weeks to go and I am not optamistic that what I have left will fit for much longer Blush

Brodicea · 29/04/2014 17:42

Oh dear with the back boobs foody I have the same thing! Smile dresses over leggings have been bliss. I have let slide the type of footwear I am happy to wear with said ensemble - was ankle boots, now my comfy old muddy trainers. Style is so trumped by comfort these days!

In other news, I told my mum about the tattoo today! She doesn't like it (says it's weird, which it is to be fair!) but she wasn't mean and didn't cry. I'm hoping the relief will mean my body is happy to let me labour now!

Report
PuppyMummy · 29/04/2014 18:03

yes! today I had what was a dress at 25 weeks (now more of a tunic!!!) with leggins. was sooo comfy although would hav been better with no bra!!

bunny if it's cod liver oil it contains too much vit a, which can lead to abnormalities. Have you tried sleeping with a pillow wedged under your back?

Grr. Just feeding baby in bed and the dog jumps down off the bed and throws up on the hall landing. I can't do anything about it, and now he wants to come back on the bed. Yuk.

Ew poor you tally!

I had irregular cramps last night, not evenly spaced like before. So unsure if it was labour ... I guess it must have been some form of false labour as again, it's gone away again Sad

brod I had these for a couple of days before it kicked off properly. It's frustrating when they keep stopping, but try and comfort yourself that it probably is doing some good, and that things may move all the faster once things do get going - they certainly did for me!

Brodicea · 30/04/2014 12:46

That's good to know poppy thanks - it feels like it will be soon. I hope that feeling is right !
